Yep I also have the same fear of bears in Skyrim.
Mountains lions, sharks, bears. Sharks are the worst because WATER!

But I am going to live in this game. I have 3 months of sick time at work(never take it) It would be awesome to just take it all.
I hate water in every game period.

It's creepy and gives me horrible anxiety :( Sharks and underwater creatures just scare the shit out of me.

I hope Rockstar lets us input codes like the OG GTA's. I freaking hated dialing in numbers.

I want to press L1 L2 R1 R2 left down right up left down right up and get a weapon set immediately.

Dead

well not really...yet
All those bulletpoints in the OP...

This shit sounds INSANE...like I can't conceivably imagine how this can all be done on current gen hardware...

RDR is high on my list as well. That ending stays with me. What's your number one?

I consider (RDR ending spoiler)
John Marston's death scene
to be the single greatest moment in gaming, to me.

My favorite game of the generation is now Bioshock Infinite, but just BARELY a bit past my opinion of Red Dead Redemption. I was so fucking high on that game in 2010.

GTA V could be better than both of them, it's a STRONG possibility.

Nowhere near as bad as any of the Fallouts. The buggiest game series ever. Fallout 1 all the way to New Vegas were almost unplayable without heavy patches.

I played like 50 hours of Fallout 3 (360) without any serious issues, a bit of buggery here and there, nothing too bothersome.

I ran into a game breaking bug within 30 minutes of New Vegas (360) and never played it again. I would like to eventually give it a proper second chance on PC, eventually. I do own it on Steam, just don't feel like it right now.

have street prostitutes been confirmed?
michael is upset at his wife for cheating and the player can go out and get a prostitute and have fun in a vehicle, so hopefully that's dealt with narratively in some way. but i hope prostitutes are in ofcourse.

I would assume as much:

The phone was such a superior way of using codes, dial the number once, and it's saved to your phone. I'm surprised there hasn't been a huge Matrix style of mod for GTA IV, with how the phone can be used to generate weapons and vehicles.

red dead redemption teased me with animals and ragdoll. I would blowup horses and trying to get them high up. It was hard and they had some serious weight in the game.
Now I can finally run them bitches over with a jumbo jet. thank god. I am going to try to coax a dog or something into carrier of a jet and skydive with that pup, gonna be awesome messing around in this game. Shit just running into a deer fullspeed in a car is going to be so fun. (don't judge gaf you know your excited too)
I won't judge, because one of my first thoughts will be to run over pedestrians lol.

Holy shit I just killed a mountain lion

*Whistles for horse

*Horse gets slaughtered by another mountain lion

9 times out of 10 in Mountain lion territory:

Just riding on horse going to my destination

Horse gets taken down quick and easily

I get take out...

Without dead eye they would literally be OP lol.

Only time I use dead eye is when I am about to die in a battle or when a mountain lion is coming after me.

The Caroways in Far Cry 3 scared the hell out of me.

Yep, they seem friendly and quite cute, get close for a better look and boom, they go all berserk lol.

It was one of the most affecting game endings ever. Loved Infinite, but RDR is my game of this console generation.

Here's hoping GTA V changes that!

My ending was ruined because it was hilarious.

Marston's Son suddenly cloned himself, so there were two of him, when the real Son left with his Wife, the clone was still there the whole time, it was both creepy and hilarious.

Have they said how big the city will be compared to Liberty City?

That's a concern of mine as I haven't seen any Malibu areas yet and want them to be windy and isolated and fantastic.

I saw the 3.5/5x stuff.

I'm still not sold on the underwater stuff.

It looks pretty and definitely better than the above-the-surface only stuff in IV but eh.

They had this reasoning with... Vice City I believe, that was that gangsters doesn't swim. Water and guns don't mix.

I still think it sounds reasonable.

With all this focus on heists, one wonders deep down if there's a mission where you fly to Las Venturas to perform a heist on a casino Ocean's 13 style.

It'd be a great surprise similar to that mission for Salvatore in SA.

It's a good decision in a sense.

When a shitton of your map is water, you need to give the player something to do so it's not a chore getting back to land.
How much there is to do is the most pressing question that I have.

A couple underwater missions would be cool. The one in San Andreas wasn't half bad.

I was thinking something like swimming in the ocean through a dump-off drain pipe to do something for a heist (turn off power generator, etc).

All I hope, cheat-wise, is that we can spawn hundreds of something like in old GTAs.

In San Andreas, I would get on a jetpack, hover over a highway, spawn many fighter planes in a pile on a highway, watch the cars run into them and catch fire, and have a good time.

Can't do that in GTA IV. What it DID get right is the fast spawning. I can just push a button and voilà - a car spawns in my path as I drive or fly.

Eh... i dunno kinda seems more like saints row territory nowadays. Maybe its because I have never been a cheat code kinda guy.

LOL! Is it bad just imagining this working makes me laugh?

It's buggy as fuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkk.

Do you not remember all the hilarious YouTube glitch videos that followed the release?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI8lAbwUoEk

RDR? RDR was not buggy at all for a game of it's size. There were like 2 or 3 major glitches... Donkey Woman, and the mexican guy who rides the other mexican guy. Maybe some glitches with ragdolls and stuff, but nothing else. Those glitches aren't really even glitches like how youd normally think of glitches... you'd see them, laugh at them, and they'd pretty much improve the experience.

RDR was one of the most glitch-free, major, large games this gen.

Is it me or does Michael seem to be a rip off of Tony Soprano?

He's very similar. The last trailer of him has a total tony vibe... I posted that same thing as soon as I saw it. Family guy who claims to like his family, want a traditional family, and to do family type things, but is a total sociopath in another life and does everything he can to undermine that family.

I don't hate it though, I love Tony Soprano.

Hell, his Michael's son looks like a total copy of AJ Soprano, seasons 2 - 4 too.

Not mad about this... I think R* does better when they base their stories and characters off of other stories.

Well.. The idea was great. Guess i will never step foot in the water in this game.

I know some people might find the fear of a shark in a game to be absurd but it's absolutely fucking terrifying to me. I had a panic attack playing FC3 and saw 2 sharks coming at me.

There might be lakes or rivers you can check out instead, doubt there will be a shark there. Maybe loch ness monster?

Yeah, I cite it as one the very best endings in a game I've played. It's just tragic, and thematic, and ugh. Infinite is also a fantastic game.

And yeah, I just can't see them messing this up. So glad we're not waiting until November.

i wanna know which the kinds of airplanes that will be in this one

one of the biggest joys of san andreas was being able to have a fucking HARRIER JET and also be able to fly a full sized BOEING

There are PC mods for GTA4 that will add fighter jets and a 747 plane.

I really hope all the people that didn’t like IV aren’t getting too hyped. I mean yeah it all sounds incredible – but so did IV pre-release too.

Anyway, the underwater sections probably has me the most excited. Just the fact that you can go on underwater treasure hunts has me drooling. It’s the little things that are getting me excited too. Like when you first buy a new house and just stand in your front yard and soak in the wonderful atmosphere. Or driving from the busy city to the forest and just soaking in the isolated outdoors. I’m going to spend countless hours just aimlessly walking around taking it all in........Red Dead Redemption was full of these awesome moments, and it looks like it's going to happen again here. Absolutely can't wait!

I hate these irrational reasonings. Just like "immigrants don't ride bikes or fly planes" in GTAIV. I'd rather they just say "we didn't feel like programming in swimming" or "we didn't want to let you ride a bike," instead of trying to justify it with some dumb rationale.

On a different note... I hope that you can actually save your guns and your cars. This isn't a major problem with GTA but it's still a problem in general... in that it's a lot more beneficial to reload a save if you die or lose your pimped out car than it is to let yourself die. I just replayed GTA: San Andreas and finished the game with 0 arrests and 0 hospital visits... Why? Because it's too much of a pain in the ass to go to the hospital and lose all of your guns, so I'd just reload the game. Admittedly, I only died a handful of times, but I'm hoping that with this emphasis on customzing your weapons and cars, that they let you save those load outs... SO you can go back to your safe house and get your tricked out car or your modified gun. I mean, they let you do that with clothes... If you die in your bought clothes you don't have to rebuy them... So why not guns and cars?

One thing Saints Row 1 got right was how they handled cars. You had your cars and they were always available to you in your garage as long as they did not explode. The trick was that to fix the cars, you had to pay.. even if they're in your garage. It gave you a sense of ownership over a good car that you wanted to hold onto.

I think Radio Gaga accounts for more than half of the reason why I love Michael's trailer so much.

I think it might be one of my favorite game trailers of all time.

Sooo yeah.... all those previews make it sound like it's GOTF. Hype through the roof! Only thing missing is a next gen version but oh well, I will so buy this game on day one regardless of other versions being announced for a later release...

They great thing about those codes was you could put in the sequence reeeaaallly quickly once you did it enough times and memorized them. I could enter some of the ones that ended in left+down+right+up (x2) in less than a second since all you had to do on the d-pad was makes circular motion with your thumb lol.
