I don't want an X360 but Oblivion OH MIGHTY Oblivion is making things waay to hard.
Any chance of PS3 getting Oblivion?? The devs once they wanted the game to hit all plataforms possible...

Why do the gods of the TES universe mock me so?
Any idea if attributes are gonna need to be leveled up in quantities of 4 or something to get the special multipliers? It was the only thing that kept me from hopping absolutely everywhere on the map. I'd rather skills increase independantly, or that you get special bonuses every X levels gained. PEACE.

yes, but don't get the wrong impression. If it's anything like morrowind the third person option is more just to see how your model looks... The gameplay is definitly tweaked for first person. 3rd person felt sort of clunky in morrowind, and the character animations where not up to par for a third person game... the 20 minute video that leaked a few days ago showed the third person mode, and it looked slightly better than morrowinds, but still did not look optimal.
I don't quite udnerstand some peoples hate for first person rpg's. it's the most immersive view point and really allows you to sink into your character.

After watching the recent 20min video from Blim's site, seeing these new screens and reading the info, I've pretty much succumbed to buying a 360 w/ Oblivion at launch. Damn you Bethesda...

edit: to quote someone working at Bethesda "It's so flexible, one of my concerns right now is that we're not using it to its fullest potential. I expect modders to create some amazing things."

I usually play in 3rd person when I'm exploring or in melee combat (and ALWAYS when I'm on horseback), and first person when I'm looking at stuff, talking to people, or in ranged combat (bows or spells). On the PC you can zoom out from first person to third and away from the character, and then back in closer until you're in first person again, using the mouse wheel

I agree. Next-gen is just too expensive for me to own all three consoles again, plus buy an HDTV on top of all of that. Dizzamn!

So will there end up being exploits? It's possible -- it's a huge game, and even with as many people as we have testing, it's possible one could slip through the cracks -- but hopefully we'll catch them all.
I'm totally anticipating the PC version, if only because i've played the previous elder scroll games all on PC (havent played the XBox Morrowind). If I have to get a new video card to enjoy this beauty on my box, so be it, but it'll be worth it.
If someone did drop an XBox360 in my lap, i'd get the console version, but for now, I really really want the PC version (that TES construction kit also is a big reason for it too).

Not yet. We're still optimizing, and until we reach the point where we just can't get the game running any faster, we can't really make an accurate assessment of the minimum specs. Moving target & all. But the game is pretty configurable -- there's a lot of stuff you can turn off or scale according to your PC's specs.

Yes thats my biggest fear. I don't want an X360 this is the only game that makes me wanna go out and buy it and yes I have the money right NOW to get one but I don't want to. I wanna get a PS3.
But these games is much better than everything Ive seen on PS3 (I havent seen MGS4 :lol ) but PS3 has my favoroite franchises.
The devs keep saying "other console announcements woulod come at a later date" and in the GI article it was said "Wihtout a shadow of a doubt its coming to PS3, unless theres some exclusivity deal from here to the release" or something like that. I wonder if MS did that even though theres no poing I mean all X360 games released now are at least 6 months exclusive so no need to pay.
Vark or Stevemeister,can you at least tell us if we should just give up hopes of a PS3 release next year and just get a X360?

Oblivion is officially my favorite game of X05. Totally unexpected, but also totally rad.

Can't comment about any possible releases on other platforms besides those announced. The Xbox 360 is a very nice system, especially on HDTV. I play primarily on PC though, which of course also looks terrific.

I'd say X05 was quite good for MS. The new games from BioWare and Silicon Knights look really great. Most media looks really good.
I have only 3 disappointments:
- PD0 - it looks good sometimes, then others it looks awful
- No Top Spin 2 media - DAMN YOU 2KSPORTS!
- No launch lineup announcement. Stop this 'launch window' nonsense.
