NEW hands on OBLIVION(IGN)

PC version: simultaneous release as X360?

TES editor: Will there actually be waterfalls? The one thing that stank about Morrowind's fundamental design was that the terrain was restricted to a simple height map, and the water level was a fixed height for the entire world. Made it impossible to do something as simple as a mountain stream, waterfall, or even a stinkin' cave. So to get a waterfall you basically had to model it in a $10,000 3d modeling program and export it to Morrowind.. and that's for ONE WATERFALL. Oh, and have fun animating it!

How different is the situation with Oblivion?

I'm torn on which version to get.

I only have a 9800 PRO, which means the frame rate will probably suffer compared to the 360 version. After seeing how well the game looks with its high end visuals, I don't know if I can play the game with things toned down.

On the other hand, the PC version has the ability for a ton of mods and will be quicker with patches. Don't know if the 360 version will be patched at all. With a game as big as Oblivion, there will be bugs and glitches. It'll be nearly impossible to find them all before release. So if the 360 version will have same day patches as the PC version this would be good. Also, it would be nice to hear some confirmation where some of these PC mods making it over to the 360.

If the 360 version gets the promise of patches and whatnot I'm going with that. I'd much rather sit back and play an RPG than kill my back sitting in my computer chair. :O

Someone better start posting some vids of this today. That Gamespot one just doesn't cut it.....plus I can't stand watching anything with that interviewer in it.

I agree.

To make matters worse, the embargo on Madden 360 is supposed to be over yet we aren't getting any new vids of that, either.

I need Madden and Morrowind 360 vids kthx.

I don't know what else to say other than I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a game.

Oh wait its called MOTHER FUCKING MORROWIND.

I've been dreaming about this game for so long its almost like it will never come out, I will never forgot that first article in Game Informer magazine where Oblivion was on the cover, I must have run around the Office showing it to ANYONE that I thought would ever remotely care. I showed it to cats and dogs (which were living together) it was mass HYSTERIA.

To sum this all up Oblivion is REAL ULTIMATE POWER. And I'm nearly about to explode.

Fin. (I need a towel)
