Probably just taking the basic ideaRise of the blood queen is not a good first movie. They should start with Hecate/baba then forward.

The setting sounds like it would be a perfect fit for Marshall
John Oliver can fix this.

Mike Mignola is the best person to have on this project.
Mike Mignola is on the script. so at least fans might get something that they want.
No Del Toro
No Perlman
Reboot
I don't want this.
Blood Queen seems weird as a first movie. Though retreading the nazis again sounds counter-productive.
I guess. But I would like a story with a smaller scope as the basis for the first movie, like Wolves of St. August or something similar. On the other hand I know shit about movies or franchises, that may be an awful idea and going with something that gives a broader look into the world and themes of the universe is the better choice. As long as the nazis are not the main focus then we good.
I personally think the nazis were the weakest aspect of the series, and after volume 3 it really opened up.
that is what I am saying.
Del Toro put out some nice cheesy movies, but they were so far off from the Mignola universe.
I always found hellboy hooking up with liz weird. He found her when she was a kid. she is his Robin.
Del Toro got Abe/Liz.Hellboy casting spot on though, and the whole conqueror worm was done well for introduction.

Mignola on the script? FantasticThe Hollywood Reporter article says the working title is Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. That's certainly an interesting choice to start over with.
Hellboy would be really amazing with a showtime/HBO budget with multiple seasons. That way we get all the stand alone stories along with the major plot points.I guess. Nothing wrong with any of those, imo. The 2 films were ok, but I look forward to an R-rated version and Perlman is too old and is more likely to phone in a performance than not. GDT is hardly the only director who can tackle an adaption.A reboot? Not Hellboy 3? No Guillermo Del Toro? No Ron Perlman?
Umm?

Nobody click the spoiler tags if you haven't read the volumes mentioned. major spoilers.Oh man, are they taking some stuff from The Wild Hunt?
Because the whole thing about Hellboy beingmight be a bit tough to spring onto people right away.King Arthur's descendant and the Rightful King of Britain

The budget he wanted for his third movie must have been INSANE if they ended their relationship over it and then went on to give a budget to an r-rated reboot. This doesn't make sense. How the hell was Del Toro not able to get Hellboy 3 made but this is apparently getting green lit?
I'd love to see a more straight up adaptation of Seed of Destruction. Hellboy existed long before del Toro so I'm not too bummed about director change.

Based off this story then?

Not a sequelI do not understand how either of those garbage movies warrant a sequel. Hellboy fucking sucks.
