I found about this on the Insert Credit forums: it's another book which asks the question... "what is a video game?" You can find more info on the book here...

Plus here's an interview with the authors. They do have some interesting things to say. Other things... we've all heard before.
Personally, and I know this sounds bad coming from someone who not only writes about games, but makes them, and even teaches them, but the more high brow criticism I read about games, gaming, and gamers, the more I want to stab myself. I dunno... it just seems to sap all the fun out.
At the very least, the shirt that says "girls don't like dying" on their site is pretty cool.
