Isn't a large part of the initial reaction based on the fact that it would take place in 1945 or earlier? Were there many (any?) white soldiers from the US fighting alongside black soldiers in World War 2? I mean, I realize it's a work of fiction, and that it's based on a comic from 20 years ago, but the 1940s date and commonplace segregation of the time should perhaps make the conversation surrounding the matter a little more nuanced than "black people and women = woke."

However, I agree that we should be waiting to hear more details and see actual gameplay before coming to any sort of conclusions about anything. We can speculate about how the game will confront or avoid talking about various issues, but I agree it would be better to just wait for more details.

I would guess they were added so that traditional gunplay and stealth action would be added to the game, seeing as one is a solider and the other is a spy. I think the non-spiderman parts were only bad because you couldn't really fight back. I doubt it'll be the same with these characters.

...why? Wakanda and the panther god didn't come into existence 10 years ago; Wakanda has existed for ages and the panther god/black panther way longer, like 10k years on the low end, and a million years on the high end.
