This comparison of pixel densities of the 3DS top screens was just posted on Whirlpool for those interested (PPI = pixels per inch):
DS Lite: 102 PPI
O3DS: 132 PPI
O3DS XL: 95 PPI
N3DS XL: 95 PPI
N3DS: 120 PPI
(PSP: 128 PPI
Vita: 220 PPI
iPhone 6: 325 PPI
Nexus 5: 445 PPI
Galaxy Note 4: 515 PPI)
I'm still undecided myself, but here is a good review I found.

So i'll be picking up my New 3DS XL tomorrow and i wanted to be sure of this.
How exactly do i transfer stuff from my current SD card to a Micro SD card.
Do i copy all the stuff on my current SD card to the micro sd card through my computer and then put the micro sd card into the New XL before doing a system transfer or do i do it after a system transfer?
Or
Do i just put the empty micro sd as is into the New XL and the system transfer will copy everything from the old 3DS SD card to the New XL sd card.

You can either transfer everything over via Wifi (Which will take awhile) or just transfer over the licenses and then dump the contents of your current card onto your computer and copy them over to the new card (Much quicker). So what's the dealio with SD cards? That all gets transferred over right?
If you're using a MicroSD with an adapter in your current 3DS all you need to do is transfer over your NNID and licenses and then take the MicroSD out of your current 3DS and pop it into the New one.I have a few questions:
- I have a 64gb micro SD card in my 3DS. When I do a transfer from my 3DS to New 3DS, do I need to buy another 64GB SD card?
- Is there any demo stock of any of the New 3DS systems in Melbourne right now? I'd like to see the new 3DS in particular so I know if the screen size is usable or not.
- Are there any image quality issues with the New 3DS?
My apologies for the double post, but I hadn't seen this posted yet - a comprehensive comparison of the new 3DS and new 3DS XL:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wlUnR8DfDU
He notes that the XL looks like it has a warmer, richer screen with better contrast...but I'm not sure this means much, given that there can be substantial variations in screen warmth between individual models (I ended up returning the first 3DS XL I ever bought the next day because the screen was so yellow).
Will this SD card work?

I don't really know if SDXC is a new thing and not compatible with certain devices.
If you format it to FAT32 first using your computer (right click the drive, and format), then yes it will work.
It wont be recognised by the 3DS unless its in FAT32 format. Once you've done that, it works great

I really hesitate, i already have a normal EU 3ds, and a japanese 3DS XL model
should i wait for an US new 3ds release so i got the 3 models? (but then i'll always had to buy it from america or canada) or should i just take the AUS model right now (and i still hesitate between normal and xl)
i will buy it eventually, but not sure if it's now or later... what do you think?
If you have an EU 3DS, obviously get an AUS import.
If this faceplate is the same as the japanese one, yes it's made of wood. There will be 20 faceplates available for purchase at launch. The 19 shown above retail for AUD$17.95 and NZD$24.99. The only exception is this one: http://i.minus.com/i0KSoi1izdlvu.jpg
...which is AUD$39.95 for seemingly no reason whatsoever. Maybe it really is made of wood!
Photos like that make the wait till tomorrow even harder. Good to hear it was easy to go from the XL to the regular too, as I'll be doing the same thing. If this faceplate is the same as the japanese one, yes it's made of wood.
I already have a japanese New 3DS and I'm one of the European thief waiting for Play-Asia to ship the European model. I used to play on 3DS XL but I choose to buy a standart White 3DS and I really don't regret it.
Here is what I think after ~1 month with my New Nintendo 3DS:
- Love, really love the 3D effect !
- Love the brighter screens.
- Love the OS speed.
- Love the faceplates.
- Love the C-stick on MH4G & Smash Bros.
- Love the weight of the standart NN3DS VS the 3DS XL.
- Love the screen resolution (especialy for DS game and ambassador games) on the NN3DS VS 3DS XL.
- Hate the Power button.
- Hate the stylus placement.
- Hate the data transfer for beeing so so long (almost 3 hours).
I also had my doubt about moving from a XL to a Regular one but I really prefer it, and not only for the faceplates.Photos like that make the wait till tomorrow even harder. Good to hear it was easy to go from the XL to the regular too, as I'll be doing the same thing.
I'll certainly use my computer for the data transfer on my upcoming European model. The data transfer issue can be solved by doing the transfer yourself on a computer. Anything like that over WiFi is just gonna be too time consuming.
Yes it's real wood, more photos here: http://byuu-world.tumblr.com/post/100683735394/new-nintendo-3ds-wood-coverplate-and-charge-cradleAnd I thought the cover plate wasn't wood, from what I'd heard it just has a faux wood texture (Unlike the felt one which is actually felt).

What is the way to do the over PC transfer? I have a lot of games on my cart. I assume all the licences are on the system itself, and I just do a system transfer with no SD card in?
You do the system transfer for licenses onto your New 3DS (With the card in) and then once that's done you just dump all the data of the old card onto a computer and dump it onto the new card. What is the way to do the over PC transfer? Gonna link to this again since it explains all the ways you can do it:

Yeah, it all depends on how much stuff you have saved on your Sd card. I transferred everything via the 3DS and it only took 30 minutes in total because I have all my games retail and only had some demos and small downloadable games on my SD card.Yep. This will take about half an hour in total. If you select the option to transfer everything via the 3DS, it will take up to an entire day. And no, thats not a joke.
I want a new one, but do I get the 3ds or the XL?
What's your thoughts guys?

Their phone support is excellent.
I'm not going to import the New 3DS, I feel really uncompelled to do so, I'm usually champing at the bit to get the latest and greatest but with zero software taking advantage of the new capabilities outside of the 3D sweet spot (which I never had an issue with) and the upgrades being lackluster I'll skip this for the foreseeable future. I'll see how Xenoblade turns out however.
Was wondering what the procedure would be for say getting a AUS system repaired in the UK for prosperity's sake?
I assume there's a choice between a full transfer or just a license transfer. It's a bit confusing because it looks like to do the limited its the same process as the full. I want to make sure it does a limited, but not 100% on that process.

Considering they're explicitly saying there are 2 ways to do the transfer I think it's pretty safe to assume in this caseYou know what they say about assuming.
