Our goals for destruction are centered around adding further gameplay depth by allowing you to reshape the environment and transform your surroundings toward a tactical advantage. For example, barging through walls to surprise your enemies, reshaping the battlefield to create new paths into the capture zones, or taking down a building to take out an attacking squad.

We're designing destruction around easily identifiable visual and audio language that lets you understand what can be destroyed, altered, or transformed through gameplay.

We aim to make destruction an integral part of your Battlefield experience to create an intuitive, fun, and rewarding environment where you feel empowered to shape the world around you.

Please be good. I need a decent multiplayer to keep me going between game releases.

Looks like a big step up from the disappointing destruction they've had after BF4. I like the chunk of concrete that almost hits the player after the explosion. I wonder to what extent they will take it? Like can all the buildings in the urban map they've shown completely collapse? Or just the walls and such?

Thats not bad company level, its much better. People still wearing rose tinted glasses when talking about BC2
I think the comparison more about the extent of the destruction than the realism or the physics. BC2 let you flatten the map if you had enough time.

This definitely looks better though. Love to see it.

We shall see, Bad Company 2 Levels of Destruction changed how the map planned over the course of a game and was driven by player actions, taking the front off building is not that.

So we shall see what they end up with.

Looks nice!
Now make the characters move slower and more realistic.
I hate movement in CoD, it's too unrealistic and all shooters are copying them.

Awesome. I love destruction in games so much. I was all giddy blowing up everything in bad company 2. we simply need more destructible environments and things overall in games. That 8 care about more than some slightly better graphics.

In 2010 I played Battlefield Bad Company 2 and believed, that in Battlefield 2025 an explosion would launch a fragment, which accidentally kills a soldier, even if the soldier is 50 meters away...

When will we see such physics in games?

Doesn't look or sound anywhere as good as BC2 or ez DICE devs own The Finals. For a multiplayer shooter the destructibility in The Finals is top tier. I'm disappointed but not at all surprised.

God damn I can't wait for this. Now that CoD has devolved into shittier fortnite, this can't come soon enough.

Bad company 2 was the most fun I've had in a BF multiplayer game, each release since has gone further away from player caused destruction and focused on stupid set piece moments.

never

BC2 was great, and so was its destruction. But this is definitely better, so they'd be selling themselves short with that comparison.

God man, please be good. PLEASE.

i think battlefield is the most fun in CQC environments and i think devs are starting to realize this across the spectrum, that's why you see black ops 6 with much smaller maps and lack of camping spots. almost as if we're coming full circle back to quake style multiplayer and people are realizing that's the most fun.

I hope not. The large combined arms battles are the reason Battlefield has always been my favorite MP shooter. If they just turn it into CoD then im out.

i like the jets and the helis, tank combat is a little slow and clunky for my taste, but the most fun i had in the battlefield series and the most time spent was probably the CQC DLC in BF3 (ziba tower, scrap metal, donya fortress). the large scale maps can be fun too but also hella boring when you don't get a vehicle and have to run miles just to get eventually sniped by some asshole

ummmm yea, Bad Company didn't have anything like that, that is 2042 level of physics based destruction.

I'm convinced, most saying this don't actually play all the Battlefield games, to be clear, this didn't just disappear or something, it continued to get more advanced as each game came out, as in with BF3, it was a bit more complex, same with BF4, same with Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V and then 2042, as you have layers of new things that could be done in each game, like the floor giving in or the roof coming off or a tank going 100% thru a structure, physics added to the objects falling etc

That wasn't some shit ONLY IN Bad Company 2, Bad Company 2 didn't even have the level of realism you see in the modern BF titles, so if you are asking for Bad Company level of destruction, you are asking for shit, you are literally asking for it to go backwards and REMOVE elements like physics or tanks going thru 100% of buildings etc

At this point, saying you wish for it to be like Bad Company 2 destruction, is a funny tell that someone didn't actually play those other BF titles if they think, that was only in BFBC2 or THE BEST in Bad Company 2.

That is factually false...

there is some fan wiki btw that details all the major changes in the destruction for each game.

It just moved in a progressive matter, it was not a thing where BFBC2 had this, but some other game had zero or some weird shit like this...

^ this 1000%

I don't know how many even play Battlefield that keep repeating this false thing... As someone that played the whole series and put hundreds of hours in each entry after BFBC2, that was a progressive feature, it wasn't a 1 and done, only in BFBC2 or anything odd like this, like in BF1 where you can deform the ground and make craters or in BFV where you can create things that can be destroyed with the fortification stuff or tanks going thru parts of buildings or 2042 with physics based destruction where tanks were going 100% thru buildings

So the new BF is a easy day 1 for me, but what they are showing looks just as good as the physics based stuff in BF 2042.

If some of you are shocked or like "WOOOOW" um...I don't think a lot of you played the recent games, I want to see more to see where this goes, but so far, this is where the series was already headed based on how complex that destruction already is..
