...and judging by the way this industry works, I'd imagine that those other shots which looked a bit rougher will probably be closer to what we end up getting.

How about some gameplay shots/footage already? The XBOX 360 launch is getting closer and closer and we still haven't seen any gameplay shots of several games. Hope the launch isn't ridden with game delays.

first screen look different than last bizarre shots

This is surely a pic from the many month old build..
There is a trailer from that build but Bizarre has shown only a snippet from it. :)

I like the simplicity of the track editor.

And I think the point of these screens is to tease at this point, and to show off the detail Bizzare is putting into the game. Full screens with HUD and gameplay movies will likely come after they've had Beta kits for a while longer.

OK, so you don't actually get to make your own tracks, you just choose different routes? A bit disappointing, but I guess a true track editor was too much to hope for.

i'm a bit dissapointed that even editing a track based on existing roads, you seem to be limited only to larger, main roads...

and a 3d overhead shot of the city would look far cooler then a 2d city map ;)

Is this game running on the full power of 360?

No game uses a consoles full power at launch, and unless a miracle devolper happens upon the scene that's simply ungodly, that scenario never will happen.

Maybe he meant to ask if the build was running on final 360 hardware.

You can find both these shots in the latest OXM, so you can bet they are at least one month old. Alpha hardware for sure.

The text in the second pic seems to suggest that you can place start or finish lines.

Yeah, but thats because cursor is on one of the start/finish lines (Its on the starting point of the race).

bizarre said the oxm stuff was definitely pre e3

That's a blurry shot.

Infact, that looks like a screen at native Xbox resolution, with a few cuts to get a 16:9 ratio and finally strechted which resulted in this blurry mess. What's the point of HDTV res. if it's going to be blurry? Get to work Bizzare!

we're getting close. in a month or three we might actually get to see some gameplay pics!
better criticism would be commenting on the black rear view mirror. xbox 360 obviously doesnt have enough power to render a working rear view mirror.

Very nice pics! If these are representative of what the finished product will look like, amazing!

And it confirms London and New York. So only two more cities to ID.

On bizarre site they say they're up to 100 people now.. I had no idea bizarre were so big! must be working on multiple projects.. They're still hiring for more people too.. MS must be funding them very good.

Or they have all those people working on PGR3, trying to get this huge, ambitious project done in time for the X360 launch.

For next gen projects I think this'll be pretty common. I don't think it's necessary, but for getting a game out at launch, you sacrifice budget to get more people to get the product out on time.
