New previews of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

There's frigging loads to do on this game. I've gone back into the first world to try the challenges, the first one is supposed to be "very easy" and it just nearly ruined me 🤣

Lots of side content then? That was maybe my biggest fear was for longevity/side stuff to do, and why I held off as long as I did in paying my preorder off.

Could it get a 90+ on Metacritic?
Seems like it doesn't have really any major flaws to really prevent it going by everyone's impressions.

What about game length? I'm very very close to paying it.

I'm close to half way through so I can't give a final verdict. But if the quality remains I can definitely see 80-90 metascore game. closer to 90.

Game length seems very solid too.I didn't track my playtime but I'm sure I'm already more than 10 hours in.
In this 10h+ I finished world one, did almost every challenge of world 1 and currently sitting close to the end of world 2.
So loooot of stuff left to do

Have you been going for perfect rankings? I think that's where a lot of the challenge is in the main campaign. There are also a bunch of challenges that become available soon after finishing the first area.

Yeah, bar that sub boss which took me down to good since one of the party fell, the perfects haven't been an issue.

So after finishing a world there will be more challenges to do, which I assume doesn't require co-op?
Seems like you will be revisiting previous worlds to complete stuff yea?
I'm honestly still very confuse on the modes or contents in game.

Yeah once you've finished a world 10 challenges unlock in said world, and there's lots of secrets and collectibles to go hunt down that you wouldn't be able to get the first time you're going through it.

You failing on challenge mode is really selling me on the game honestly.
I have extremely limited budget for AAA games this year with a few reserved and locked in, so making decision is very hard here.

Yes exactly. After beating a world there will be additional challenges with rewards.
Also it is recommended to revisit world because you get abilities with progress which open additinal paths

Thanks! Thank god for the broken street date, so that I can get so many information. Previews are not helping at all with extremely late review (in my timezone).

I'm only a couple of hours in but I have to say that this is by far one of the most polished games I've played in the last years. You can easily notice that the devs put a lot of passion and love into this

I'm having a blast, cannot wait to dive back in later

Seeking advice here:

I just learned my Amazon preorder won't ship until Thursday next week, which is unacceptable. Should I use my preorder price to get a cheaper copy at a Walmart so I can play it on launch day? Is there a way to do this?

(I don't have BB, only Amazon).

Holy shit.

People have it? Beat it already?

I'm more or less on media blackout....but...

Hi long is it?

Lots of reply value?

Variety?

Is it "good"?

I don't think any of us have beaten it yet, well not the people who got their copy early today anyway. A lot of people will still be embargoed, but us normies can say what we want.

Happy this game is getting lot's of great previews. Hope it sells well so Nintendo can risk to make more crazy games like this with third party developers. My dream is to see a true Mario x Sonic mashup in the shape of either a true 2D platformer/action game or a 3D platformer instead of those average and forgettable Olympic mashups.

Only thing I'm disappointed about so far is, since exploration mode movement is so smooth and controlling Beep-o feels akin to a cursor or stylus, I keep trying to circle around random shit hoping something happens but it never does ;((
I don't know, make trees blossom, shake rocks and give me coins.

Missed opportunity but that's just me.

Sometimes there are even a circle of coins and nothing ever happens in the middle. Somehow it's frustrating to me, especially since Mario games are usually spot on with the interactivity stuff

Edit: Also framerate often takes a hit during the animations in battle, but not really a big deal

I was not expecting to get this game until a few months from now (if not ever) but you all are starting to make me feel like I am truly going to be missing out on a gem.

I hope this game is a huge success so Nintendo will let Davide Soliani direct a TLOU clone where Waluigi must escort Ashley (from WarioWare) across a post-apocalyptic Mushroom Kingdom.

"You know, Ashley, we really are the last of wah"

I'd rather the other Nintendo Ashley.

Actually died to the 1-5 miniboss then realised that I need to take it a bit more seriously. Very fun so far!

Not finished world 1 yet but I'm really enjoying this. Beautiful graphics, really nice music both original and Mario remixes, exploration is simple but satisfying with plenty of optional areas, tons of fan service, very enjoyable battle system which continues to escalate in complexity, everything is polished to a sheen. Even briefly got overconfident in one battle and nearly lost a team member.

There's an optional easy mode you can activate which gives me confidence that the challenge will ramp up nicely later on normal difficulty. I'd say this is a lock for at least a high 80s Metacritic.

I wonder if there's a day 1 patch for the game

these previews sound great though, I was taking a wait and see approach and might have to just pick this up

Next Thursday can't come soon enough. Never thought I'd be upset about having to wait a few days after release for a game featuring Rabbids but this is apparently the world we live in now. Been a long time since I've played this type of game, and that combined with the ridiculousness of the world seems just plain great.
