Yeah, I hardwired my PS4. Had to. I could have used something like an Airport Express, but thankfully I was able to run the cable.

What Sony really need to do is make a PS3 in a formfactor that would look cool stacked under or along side a Ps4. I'd certainly upgrade if it was a slot loader or could stream from the ps4 bd over a wired lan.
 
I have several PS4's and PS3's lying around but if the new PS3 revision brings down the size of the Cell/RSX and makes it even more reliable/use less power i might bite ($200 or bust though).
 
Make the new ps3 model have the ability to connect to ds4 wirelessly as a main controller and the smaller cell of whatever and I will buy one. Grudgingly but will buy nevertheless.
 
I don't see why it would be anything major for the ps4 (probably internal reworking). A major sku right now is pointless. Ps4 is still selling well and it's better to do something like this with a big game.
 
Would be nice for Sony if they could combine Cell and RSX into an SoC but NVidia would have to stop being dicks about it. That would go a ways to shrinking the PS3 a good deal.

I don't plan on buying a PS4 until Fall 2015 anyway and that's when I expect the first major revision will come about. Hopefully by then my backlog is cleared up. >_<
 
Correct me if I'm wrong (not that anyone really knows this besides Sony engineers), but if Sony can finally shrink the Cell and RSX down to the 22mm we could potentially have a PSone/2 slim sized PS3. They would have to give it a power brick, but I would totally make that trade.

I don't know if I would make the trade for a power brick. Small size doesn't mean as much when you have to carry two things around when moving your console.
 
A small PS3 would be nice, which looks like a half of the PS4. So you could put it under the PS4 (or on top) and both would look like one console ^_^

I'd say the majority of people might disagree simply because they don't move their consoles often. Either way, the Super Slim has a 190W supply with a 45nm chip. If they could shrink it to 22nm, then there's a possibility of a smaller brick at around 120W, maybe less.

The first certification is exclusively for the CUH-1100 A, while the second is for both the CUH-1100A and the DUH-T1100JA, which indicates the non-retail testing kit of the console.
The difference between the two new certifications and the original (and also between the two new certification themselves) is in the antenna power and frequency pattern, most possibly meaning that there will be two slightly different models under the same code.
Again, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be more differences, but this kind of certification is exclusively dedicated to wireless equipment, so it won’t mention other parts.
What we do know is that the new model won’t be a full redesign, as according to Sony’s coding standards that involves an incremental change in the first digit of the number, while strictly internal evolution is indicated by the second digit like in this case. It’s also not a bigger hard disk, as that comes with a change in the final letter of the code (IE: A would be changed to B).
With Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show incoming, we might get to hear something official about this soon enough.

I suppose it's too early for there to be a more energy efficient, cooler running version coming right ? Or are they also shipping more durable controllers ? Did that thing with the analog stick coverings wearing off get addressed ?
 
I don't think there will be much else to the revision than some internal hardware shuffling around and new antenna.
