Yes, we were playing the 81-level Super Mario 3 when I was 9 years old, but how nice of Nintendo to finally indulge us 15 years later.
Yes, it went from TurboGrafX quality to SNES quality. In related news, the Bulls just won their first championship.

Goodness gracious. Who is it that said that standard 2D DS games might as well be on the GBA?
*backhand*
You know nothing about sprites.
I still fail to see why this isn't on GBA. There is still nothing special about even the latest screens. Certainly nothing that hasn't been exceeded by several gba games.

BTW, can someone post pics that are a higher resolution than 225 x 170? The DS's resolution can't be that small...can it?

Why play it on ZSNES when I have it on my SNES? :lolNeutron Night said:Please play Yoshi's Island on ZSNES.

Of course it does. :lolGaimeGuy said:I suppose Castlevania: DoS looks like an SNES game too, right?
BTW, didn't Super Mario World have 91 levels? Been a while since I played through it all. Wonder how many levels New Super Mario Bros will have?

You don't want to get me started. Trust me.
The DS (at 256X192) isn't THAT far from 320X240
You can't be serious.Neutron Night said:SMW had 72 levels, and 96 "goals". Some of them were small, but most were decently big, about twice as big on average as SMB3.
Your SNES runs at 1280 x 1024, 2x SAI rendering, allows instant save states, online play, and your games are free? Where can I obtain this device?
I dunno, I haven't been paying much attention to portables (I do plan to get a PSP eventually, though). I was under the impression that the DS was roughly N64 level in power, so why would this even be an issue? Lack of CD storage and screen resolution still make it inferior to consoles from that era, though. But but but...TWO screens.
Thanks for wasting my time by posting a link within a link. And thanks also for clueing me in to the DS's resolution:
Hmm, it's only 1.5 generations behind, soon to be 2.5. Whatever. Oh, and reusing sprites, even from a classic like SOTN, is never a good thing. Also, not having played the game, I'm going to go out on a limb and say the sound is not close to SOTN.
Anyway, this was just a reaction to people somehow going apeshit after seeing SCREENS of this game. I'm sure it will be fun, just concede that this is a game from 1992. I hear MC Hammer's latest single just topped the charts.
I'm just not following you here, and I think I'm not the only one. So is your point that this game isn't visually impressive, or are you complaining about DS's hardware? Can you not tell the difference between SNES and DS? How can you use ZSNES with anti-aliasing as an example for graphics from 1992? Also, people can go apeshit over screens for reasons other than graphics, you know. Notice all the comments about the game harkening back to Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island.Neutron Night said:Your SNES runs at 1280 x 1024, 2x SAI rendering, allows instant save states, online play, and your games are free? Not to mention the fact that SotN was one of the best looking PS1 games, period

Seems pretty obvious what game he's talking about. I think I could guess why those games look better on that emulator, too.Neutron Night said:What game are we talking about? DoS looks pretty good for a DS game. But this Princess game doesn't even take advantage of the hardware. Maybe you're right about ZSNES being a bad example, it seems to improve the image quality to make everything look fucking terrific.
Here...I resized a couple of pics.

Exactly what point are you trying to make with this example, that SNES has better emulators? :lolMaybe you're right about ZSNES being a bad example, it seems to improve the image quality to make everything look fucking terrific.
