Saw this during X3 tonight. Some people in the audience laughed. I don't think the movie will live up to the hype. :(

If they laughed at that they must have giggled themselves silly at the drek that was X3.

My friend was all hyped for Superman Returns, then he read the novelization and now he's completely deflated on the movie, doesn't give a crap about it anymore. It's rather depressing to see.

that movie is loaded with gay subtext. we need the manly superman from yesteryear, fighting for our RIGHTS with smooches

The novelization actually helped my interest by denying some earlier accusations!

I'm still bummed that the action sequences seem to be more about Superman rescuing people than fighting anyone. Well, there's always a sequel... maybe.

Who could he fight, except another superhero?

More like laughing so hard they end up puking their guts out at X3.

Elektra was better than X3. Hell, CATWOMAN was.

I'd like to see Superman fight a completely original villain who is grounded in the reality that is the "Superman" world.

Like a guy who Superman saves but somehow ends up wrecking his life and he spends the next decade or so (I'm assuming this would all be told via flashback) researching Superman's powers and trying to come up with the perfect plan to completely rid the world of Superman using conventional modern technology (which by all means, is possible).

Kind of like Lex Luthor, just not as silly (sometimes). I like Luthor, but he's too insane for my tastes. I'd like a sane villain with a complete disdain for human life and vendetta against Superman.

this means absolutely nothing. I remember people laughing at the trailer for The Matrix and commenting how idiotic it looked.

yeah, really. there is bad crowd reaction, and then there are guys trying to seem cool to their girlfriends. they are not the same thing.

I was in a theater where people were just laughing their asses off to Lord of the Rings. Sometimes, people are just retarded. Something to do with chromosomes.

Damn that looks hot. I really do think Spacey may steal the show though, I get that vibe from almost all of the trailers.

Also, wtf coincidence, bullet in the eye, does Singer read GAF?:lol

haha I thought someone said this guy had a commanding voice? This really doesn't look like Superman to me. It seems more wrapped up in the in the idea and nostalgia of the ancient Donner movie than anything that has to do with the character that I love. The effects look nice(except for the emphasis on him being bulletproof. Stop standing there! Use some speed or something!) though. I'll watch it on DVD(or HBO) to see him fly.

You're like Dan in any Peter Jackson thread.

Awesome! :)

He sure sounds like Reeve when he says " I see an old man's sick joke"

edit- Borghe I still think this just just temp stuff for the trailer and not the official score music.

I think superman is supposed to sound like a pansy...cause you know he is one?

They should have started Superman from scratch this shit looks cheesy in a very 80's kind of way.

They should have used more inspiration from the Animated series.
