New Trailer for FFXVI is up

That trailer really ramped up about halfway through. I was never in love with this type of setting but I think the game is going to deliver. By the end, especially after those gameplay segments, my hype level was at 9000.

Can't wait! also looks to me like the dominants of other Eikon's will be your party members at times., and Levi is shown in the tapestry.

Well that's the first proper good trailer I've seen in a while. I'm still not sold on FF becoming Nomura May Cry, but I'm willing to give it a fair shake. Shame that we won't be recruiting those other Eikon characters, as I think it's just that one dude that's playable.

Anyways, I have nothing bad to say, solid trailer, hopefully the gameplay is good.

The story seems interesting, and the action combat might be fun. The graphics don't look too hot, but are passable enough if the other things are done well.

Good to have a release period.

Fully action gameplay looks great.

But is it just me or do most the character models look bad/bland?

I don't think it was a great trailer overall either. (Then again I feel like a lot of trailers recently have been lacklustre for most games)

Honestly after the last few FFs, edgy-pretentious-outlandish-egotistical-etc, the more subtle fantasy designs are a nice change of pace to me.

Best XVI trailer yet, hyped.

Yeah, this is more along the lines of witcher….fairly classical/medieval costumes and character designs but the Eikons are adding a lot of pizazz and color to it. I like where they're going with it instead of everything just being a mishmash of zippers, jorts, and chains, mixed with weirdly modern tech like mercedez trucks with chocobo emblems on the front

Agreed.
I say this as someone who mostly likes Nomura's output, it's genuinely refreshing to finally have a new single player mainline entry without Nomura being involved for once.

FFXVI feels like a cross between classic Nintendo era Final Fantasy and Matsuno.

Looks amazing, I'm definitely hyped for this

The graphics are nothing spectacular but I think that's one of the reasons this might be a well done complete package that seems to have had a pretty smooth development cycle.
After the jump to HD Square has really struggled keeping up with their reputation of top tier graphics. FFXIII looked amazing but was extremely linear and limited in many ways, FFXV looks great but at launch felt like an unfinished mess, FF7R looks awesome (most of the time) but the level design is very basic and there's some hidden loading in the form of forced walking or squeezing through places every 5 minutes.

If cutting back the presentation allows this to come out as a complete feeling package with decent level design and that doesn't take 5 years from announcement to release then I'm all for it.

I'm still a bit skeptical about this one but will wait until I play the final game before drawing any conclusions

Looks really good, but doesn't look very... "Final Fantasysh" though.

Can someone explain the exclusivity of this one. I cant keep up with it all.
PS5 only? Timed exclusive? PC down the line?
If its PS5 only - its a legit system seller.

This entry looks to be in the same serious tone as XII with more over the top stuff intertwined. Looks phenomenal.

Looking at this, they should've just made this cross-gen like everything else. I struggle to see what in this wouldn't be possible on last gen machines.

My hype deflates with each new trailer they show, what a shame. At least I still have dragon quest to look forward to.

I want the game, but I want to see a full battle. Looks like real-time with individual summons.

Hate turn based, so when when FFXV was about to be released I was super excited. That game clearly sucked, but I feel that same excitement with this game. Please don't let me down again Square.

Damn, even the camera placements / cinematography or whatever it called reminds me of FFXIV but with a fresh coat of paint.
Not a bad thing but it ain't blowing my mind like older FF trailers used to.

When the first trailer was released I was dubious due to the crushing weight of what Square Enix did with Final Fantasy XV. I have moved from dubious to cautiously optimistic. This looks awesome, but I'll have to wait and see if they deliver on the story. This has moved from a won't-buy-until-reviews-several-months-after-the-fact to I-could-see-myself-getting-this-within-the-first-week. Keep surprising me, Square Enix. I like these kinds of surprises.

I like it. It looks darker, like it could take place in a Souls world almost. Still, unless they upgrade that combat a ton to add some strategy, these real time FFs will always be deep sale kind of games for me.

I´m lowkey disappointed by the visuals. The character models are very las gen-looking. Environment and lightning are also rather bland.
Character models and Lighting aren't really a problem in my case, but I agree with your point of it looking last-gen. The greatest detractor to me is the particle system/design. It made the explosion and special attacks look quite messy. It looks good enough but nothing mindblowing.

Nomura should only be involved with Kingdom Hearts honestly. Would benefit KH fans and FF fans alike.
