Wipeout screens are supersampled, Medievil screens are direct buffers with no supersampling or anything.Too clean?

Sadly, it will probably end up like my DS. I'll get it on launch day, play it for a few days, and then it will begin to gather dust on my coffee table. For some reason, I generally just can't get into portable games. It probably has something to do with the fact that I hardly ever leave the house except to work and have no incentive to play one as opposed to one of the home consoles.
No. They will never work on another Wipeout game (probably). Michael Place has left and made Build anyway, and from what I can gather, he was the driving force behind Wip3out's style.Chittagong said:TDR back or not? Can't tell from the HUD .

CoLD SToRAGE is back though.. or that's what i've heard anyway.
I really, reallly, reallly, really X100000, hope this doesn't play like WipE'out Fusion... GOD!! Please let it play like 2097 or Wipeout 3, this is the final straw.. if wipeout pure sucks i quit gaming.
Why do those look worse than the earlier screens ? Especially the cars...StephaneC said:
Heh, don't be too deceived. Those screens are supersampled. Look at the RR screens here, or Medieval screens for an example of actual image quality on PSP (it's certainly good, and on par or better than 90% of PS2 games, IMO). Now imagine that it'll look better than that on the actual, smaller, LCD screen, and at 60FPS, and you're good to goWow, Wipeout looks amazing - certainly better than the PS2 one. Image quality alone makes a lot of difference; no more jaggies.
Whoa, now I look at it, the clipping on that second bend in the distance is fucking terrible. You can see the sky where there should be road.AnIco said:![]()
If you look at the screen, you can see that the topography matches the map layout perfectly; that's an impressive draw distance!![]()
No, SCEE will suck if they don't bring those games to the US(particularly WRC Portable ;-P). But, since the PSP is region free for games, no scratch off my back.acklame said:Wow Wipeout, Medievil and WRC all look very nice. Maybe SCEE doesn't suck after all![]()
Sony had a majority stake in Psygnosis since before PS1, but they never managed to keep Psygnosis games off Saturn or N64 (like Nintendo kept Rare off PS1). I think in the late 1990s Psygnosis was bought out entirely though, and the development teams brought into SCEE internally.Midas said:Maybe Sony didn't own it back then, you know?

Unison said:I absolutely adore Ape Escape. It's probably my favorite first party Sony game... but I am disturbed by the lack of dual analog control! :-/ At least this seems to be taking a different approach, judging by those cool screens.
Edit: though it looks to be like a WarioWare ripoff... :-/ Those minigames seem pretty stupid. I hope they aren't the best that game has to offer.

Evidently there's 2 "plain jane" Ape Escapes coming. Ape Escape P (which looks like it's based off the first game) and Ape Escape 3 (which is also coming to PS2).brandonnn said:Those shots are actually of Piposaru Academia, a separate minigame collection. Plain jane Ape Escape is still on the way as-is.
