I agree that some of the drive by posts are annoying, but we don't want echo chambers. Some people have more eloquently described their issues than others.

I wouldn't say they're all "haters." I'm definitely disappointed we didn't get an official title and a more story based preview.
Some of the responses though reek of shit starting and are indeed dumb.
Hopefully. I want to see more of EVERYTHING. The battles,the combat and especially the story, that United States thing has me very intrigued.

You know, if people are talking about it that's a good thing. I would much rather see a thread with 600 posts with a mix of people saying they like it and don't like it compared to a thread with 200 posts all saying they like it. It shows the interest is there, and some may even come around once they see more of what the game has to offer.

They grew on me after awhile. I guess I already commented on this. If it's the typical American VA cast then I'm not sure I am going to enjoy it either.

Yeah it would be. Kind of like in Xenoblade in which you have different colonies that you could visit. So there could be a Japanese, Russian, German, British, Etc.

The ending of Xenoblade didn't restructure the two gods into a planet, but reset/restructured the entire universe. We might be dealing with alternate universe Earth here, or some shit

Nah, I would get on him too much. He probably just didn't like it that's all. Still just because he didn't like it doesn't mean he should act like every person who did like it is some sort who only liked it because there system was apparently starved for JRPGs. I love Xenoblade because I find it to be a genuinely amazing game.

As far as MMO-style combat systems go, Xenoblade's wasn't too bad. I'll still need to hear that they've improved the combat (beyond adding mechs) or designed some proper sidequests before I can join the hype train.
Would be nice if Lightning Returns was extended the same courtesy. You guys are so sensitive. No one even said it was the worst game ever made, or called the creator a sexual deviant, or called all fans of the game losers. They just they think it looks boring. That opinion has to be quarantined off? What a massive double standard.
For the record, I'm getting it day one, and it was a big reason why I got a Wii U. But I still think both trailers have been lackluster. I had similar issues with the first trailer. No story, no characters, no game title. They are trying to sell this game in a very weird way.
Xenoblade was fun enough though, and this looks like more of the same; with vehicles.

It's also possible you could have an "end of the Earth" type scenario in which the world was ending so the different nations of the world all left for space and ultimately landed on this planet. It could mean that there are several nations and not just the US.

The fact that Iwata said I will have more to show you later and not coming in 2014 makes me think it may be a 2015 game.
It sure looks that way but there is a small possibility it could be the same universe based on certain events in Xenoblade. I find this unlikely though, I think it's a different universe.

Xenoblade was hailed by many, if not most, reviewers as the JRPG of the generation. Stop.
As long as the pacing is better than Xenoblade, im in. Xenoblade's soundtrack was amazing, the graphics and overworld in general was extremely well done for the tech. The battle system could have been a little more interesting, and kinda fell flat in the middle of the game (the last boss battles were great as were the first few) and the pacing needed to be a little tighter with less filler areas...but it was one of the top tier last gen.
