TGS is around the corner and many X360 and PS3 games will be unveiled. This thread is about betting! Which games do you think will look better?

Please note I don’t want to compare titles that won’t be shown for a while! (Killzone, Halo, NNN, Heavenly Swords etc)

Anything from the Nintendo side? If you want to add something please do!

Sony will shock and awe again. Even if its pre-rendered footage, or its actually footage of the game's replay mode or something, it'll probably wow the shit out of everyone. I'm hoping 360 and PS3 prove to be closer than first thought though. MGS4 is gonna get me incredibly excited but SC always looks great visually. Out of these head 2 heads I'd go with MGS (artistically if not technically), PGR3 over RR VI, DoA over Tekken 6, and I don't know re: the other one.

I'm gonna be excited just to hear more about Revolution let alone see anything for it.

It's pretty weird that TGS looks likely to be more interesting than E3. With it being a much smaller gap than TGS to E3, it's normally just the same games (plus Japanese stuff we'll never see), sometimes even the same demos.

Looking forward to it though.

Sorry, don't really want to play the bet game, just came to say that. However, that DOA Ultimate and Tekken 5 comparison seems really fair.

Well MGS4 is a safe bet.
(But I also hope to see a great looking SH5 or DMC4/ RE5 and of course a breathtaking trailer of FF7 Remake).

The guys at Ubi are just amazing.
IMO, MGS3 on the PS2 is more technically impressive than Chaos Theory on the Xbox, so I'm gonna have to disagree with you here.

And on a side note, those are the WORST comparison screens I've ever seen; I could easily find 25 better looking pics for both Tekken 5 and MGS3 each. For shame.

Did you see the scope of SC3? Did you see the beautiful texture work? The amazing lighting, shadowing, self-shadowing? The fantastic shaders? The awesome use of normal mapping?

SC3 on the XBOX is a technical marvel. I would have never thought those visuals possible on the XBOX.

E3 made good on one of the biggest match-ups expected: Dead or Alive 4 versus Virtua Fighter 5.

Too bad it's not as artistically impressive as the MGS series. I enjoy both Splinter Cell and MGS, but 9 times out of 10 I'll give the nod to MGS purely for the amazing art.

I easily place my bet on MGS4, it's a whole new ballgame.

PS3 has all the bells and whistles of pixel shaders and the like from the get go this time with 360 being in the same boat.

I don't really disagree with you here; SC is a fantastic looking game. I'm simply saying MGS3 on the PS2 is even more so. It's one of the best looking titles I've ever seen, on any machine.

Just looking at that MGS 3 shot makes me want to replay the game again so badly. Hurry up Subsistence. I have no doubt in my mind that MGS 4 is going to be on a different level of brilliance than anything we've seen before from Kojima.

Post history is a motherfucker. Check his

I'll take the bait.

Splinter Cell 4 vs Metal Gear Solid 4

If MGS4 aspires to be in 3D, then SC4 will take that title. If 2D, can't call it. Ubi Soft has honed themselves well on the Splinter Cell series, graphically. I don't see Konami overcoming Ubi Soft with a 3D engine in one bound, that'll take time and years of development.

Project Gotham Racing 3 vs Ridge Racer 6

Both are slated to be 60fps. So that is equal. RR6 has been in development for over 2 years. Other people have high hopes for RR6. I'll be a first time RR owner in November. I'm sure it'll look good. How good? Dunno, PGR3 good? I doubt it.

Dead or Alive 4 vs Tekken 6.

I think the leap will be more apparent visually from Tekken 5 to 6 over Dead or Alive 3 to 4. Kinda like a push now though because DOA4 should be further along than Tekken 6. That's if Tekken 6 shows up.

Chrome Hounds Vs Gundam World

I honestly don't give a fuck, not a mech guy

If Kojima and his team made MGS3 on the x-box from the start, it would spank sc3 so bad it's not even funny. All the features that Olimario mentioned are things that are possible because of the superior xbox hardware, not necessarily because programming prowess.

That screen does no justice to Tekken 5. Also Soul Calibur 3 looks better already.

Great pics but it needs more, this stage is my favorite looking one, the texturing, color, and lighting used is phenomenal!

You might be right, but Chaos Theory, will the graphical overhaul, sets itself high above other games. Then again, we don't know how they will do a 3D engine for MGS4, if they do. Are they? Will fans approve of it?

I know that they've achieved a lot in visual effects and normal mapping on SC3... but you can clearly see that the visual greatness was achieved through SMALL enviroments and even so, there was some weaknesses that have been hidden in the dark.

Like I said before, we will find soon enough, this coming gen is pixel shaders for all and then some. Team Kojima won't be without this time.

Sony wins, and the anti-Sony contingent continues to piss and moan.

I'm really hoping the Revolution has a better outing than the Gamecube with consumers. Nintendo's reality distortion field is in full effect with the NintenD00DS. It's almost N64 levels of delusion, so again - I'm hoping their cashing in on moron's nostalgia, an assumed decent price point, and the alleged free on-line games are enough to leave MS buried under gobs of Retard Pack overstock.

The battle for second place is heating up!

SCCT SMOKES MGS3 technically!

Tekken is next gen and might be shown next month but we will have to wait a long to see the next gen version of SC therefore I used Tekken.

Damn... this generation had some PRETTY ass games. If the 360 sucks, I'll still be proud of what the Ps2 and Xbox/GCN pulled off.

I don't mean to be an ass,but this is a pointless thread..

"Better" means diffrent things to different people....it is NOT objective......for example, many people thing Splinter Cell 3 looks "better" and I just want to laugh because *I* think MGS3 blows it out of the water, visually...

Of course, I can only speak for myself, and that is the point.....this idea of this game vs. that game at TGS is flawed because it is not objective...

I think Splinter Cell may be technically superior in graphics, but mgs4 might edge it out in the art dept.

Though Kojima did state he would be focusing on the tech that'll work behind the scenes.

I may be the only one, but I want to see Mech Assault 3 and Crimson Skies 2 next generation.

As for the comparisons, I don't care. The Xbox has better graphics capabilities than the PS2, and as such the best looking Xbox games are (technically) better looking than the best looking PS2 games. It's not really worth a point-by-point comparison, and it doesn't mean that Voodoo Vince looks better than God of War. Next-generation, the better developers will make the better games for the most suitable target audience.

Splinter Cell

As for the mech games... does Chrome Hound have a destructible environment? I thought Gundam World looked like next gen garbage.
