Prolly going to be a wasted resource. If xbox takes 8 seconds to load maps in destiyn 4 or fifa 2025 world cup ... why would the publisher, developer give a damn on improving the load times on the ps5? they didnt give a fuck about DS4 touchpad.

Does it really matter if a level s loaded within 5 seconds or 1 second? Not sure how devs. can use this for their game&ports. Fast enough is good enough, faster than a 5400rpm is heaven.

Is it just me or have other people noticed! That xbox series x games take about 5-10 seconds to load as shown in the quick resume demo while spiderman took 0.8 seconds or 8 milliseconds to load on the ps5 dev kit!

Could this be a hint that playstation 5s ssd is really that much faster than series x

Its not 13.5gb of data its state of decay, the cave a xbox 360 game, forza 7, and hellblade all current gen games not series x games, they use a max of 5.6gb of data

I'm curios to see loading times of games like GTA5, TWC3, RDR2 etc. to see what's what. And still, those are just current-gen games at the end of the day, so without a proper next-gen open-world titles full of highly detailed assets it's hard to make any judgments. But one thing is sure, going from HDD to even the worst SSD is already an amazing upgrade.

The xbox ssd is only 2400MB/s read speed.

Thats a pretty low bar to beat. As there are faster nvme drives for PCs already available.

And still, 99% of PC users still sit on prehistoric HDDs, at least for all their games, because if anyone actually has an SSD it's for the system/apps. People that run purely on SSDs (be it SATA or M.2) are not even 1% of the whole PC community, and from that 1% I don't even know how little people actually have something that's at least on par wit XBX. So yeah, the bar basically doesn't exist. Delusion at its finest.

The nextgen console ssds arent just ssds this is where people get it wrong they think simply having a 5gb/s ssd or any fast ssd is enough to compare pc to the series x well it isnt the ssds on this nextgen consoles arent just about loading times they are well engineered and act like an extection of ram they arent ur typical ssd

Mine is 3 years old and it reads around 3000MB/s and it is 1TB (and it was wayyyy too expensive).
