I have debated, numerous times, in this thread. It used to be a great thread, but it has turned sour lately, which is why I rarely read it any longer. It has turned sour because the MS talk has so far turned out to be just that, talk. While the PS side actually has things to show. When X Series X will start showing jaw-dropping exclusives, the tide will turn. But good luck with that when uncle Phil is pushing his '100 AA games for 10 bucks a month' agenda.

Well you guys can get your stories straight and get back to me with a coherent message.

So far no specced cross gen or next gen only games are showing any res/FPS difference between Xsex and PS5. Nor should they - 15% GPU Tflops is inconsequential when it comes to practical system performance.

One guy says "Xsex can use better compute power" and another says "of course they'll be the same performance".

Seems to me that all that extra compute power would be most obvious is running last gen games, as has been the case with every other platform.

I would not be surprised if its a management / suit problem that gets lumped on poor devs. The 120 Hz news is also not encouraging as IMO its wrong direction. XSX should have a quality looks sweet 60 Hz mode.

But its just 1 game so its not the whole world. Personally I would of shown Gears5 on XSX and a trailer for Halo if it was not ready. No news is better than bad status.

Also if normal customers thought it looked bad, why could Phil not see it ? He made a bad call, pressure.

Factors like size of the community matter, which by default will make the smaller community feel less appreciated, which is only compounded by the fact that unfortunately the market has positioned these consoles as sides of the same coin, which means competition gets a bit poisonous as it feels like "there can be only one" up in this bitch.

But I think high levels of toxicity happen mostly pre-launch, which is when the demand for news is at an all time high, far outstripping the supply available. Really makes fud and trolling unbearable, almost.

This said, and obviously I'm biased and you can hold that against me, but holy tits batman, something happened along the way that really made an extremely vocal, extremely determined subset of the Xbox fan community, come together in arms and employ an internet wide campaign of viral fud and misinformation around the PS5. I think too much focus has been wrongly placed on trying to bring down the PS5 with bullshit, instead of focusing more on highlighting the positives of Xbox. This has been a constant, and of course it exists from both sides but considering how larger one community is, you would expect it in reverse, but no, from folks like Tom Warren to your standard forum poster, it's somehow almost impossible to talk positively talk about Xbox without talking shit about PlayStation.

But, my glasses are tinted. So, take that into consideration.

I mean, GTAVI? The GTAV port was a red herring or a way to keep it forefront? No way something THAT large goes exclusive to PlayStation.

I've said it before-it's literally crazy to think something like GTA6 would ever go exclusive to one console. The price of that luxury would be astronomical and probably higher than that $750 million rumor.

If it *did*(no matter whom to), even timed, it would essentially end the console wars. It would be the Thanos snap.

Do we know anything about PSNow changes plans?

As far as I know, PSNow allows downloading of only the non-PS3 games. Offering streaming-only for those is absolutely killing my interest for the service. Mortal Kombat 9, for example, is only available on a current machine via PSNow, but it is streaming-only and is an unplayable laggy mess.

I think PSNow would have a lot more adoption, if they figured-out a way to allow downloading for all games on the service, but is it even technologically possible?

We *do* know Sony and Microsoft entered into a strategic partnership wherein Microsoft would help Sony with their cloud-based streaming.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was to help them create a more robust, efficient PS Now and PS Store.

Hopefully. But was this move not a nod towards enabling cross-play instead?
 
I personally don't like the idea of say Gta6 being a paid for exclusive.

I am probably in the minority but I don't even like the GTA series, I very much doubt I will ever buy it.

but it worries me that one of the games that I might like, could be snapped up by Microsoft, say elder scrolls or vampire the masquerade game for a year.

I really like exclusives, just not multiplat exclusives.

Agree, they need to solve backwards compatibility via emulation.
It's definitely a good point to hammer Sony on.

Basically, yeah! The mainstream appeal of that series blows my damned mind. I'll never forget working that launch and the crowds. Every one of them would go to whichever console had it.

Tangentially, I remember when PS4 and Xbox One opened up for preorders. We could order..I believe it was around 136 PS4 systems were allocated to us. The Xbox One only around 30 or 40.

This was before Microsoft backtracked on Kinect requirements and used game licenses.

When I pressed my District Manager(GameStop) why there was such a gap in units, he responded in the email "because Sony supports GameStops business model, Microsoft doesn't".I

How does X-Fighter and Bo_Hazem get banned. They seem harmless to me.

Is it really a thing here for everyone to report other posters? It's a gaming forum, who cares if people are talking shit. We've all played online with a headset at some point, nothing here could be that bad on average. :messenger_tears_of_joy: But I guess the mods don't want the place to seem unwelcoming.

If I understand correctly. Of the three Heisenberg mentioned one of them is rumored to be FF16, one is "the monster" which would have been very expensive to lock down, and then there's a third that's probably on par with FF16 (my guess is Elden Ring or Batman). But that's just speculation.

Honestly, when I see a post which I find upsetting I do the following:
1) Take a moment to consider what I would say before responding.
2) Decide whether responding is worth it, and how I want to come across.
3) If I decide to respond, I try to be respectful to the asshat who pissed me the F off. What a douchenozzle! *Breath, .. just breathe
4) Take a breath, (or in some people's cases, a gulp of water)
5) Write what I want to, read it a couple of times, and then either re-write something to be more respectful to that undeserving F***
6) Either post, or move on.

Also the games are not coming out at the same time. RE8 is going to release later which means the developers have more time to improve it.

@X-Fighter just seemed to be having a bad day and got triggered. Usually he's careful not to go green team Xtreme but the post that got him temp banned was a bit hot.

For Bo_Hazem Bo_Hazem I think one of his gif/meme posts probably overstepped the line.

Skins are thin, tempers are up and there's no new news...


EDIT: Oh and I believe @X-Fighter is unbanned. The replay judge has overturned the on field decision ...
