What exactly about that plan is "business first, creativity second"? Why do you think all these people are quitting studios like Naughty Dog and Rockstar and so on to work at this new studio? Because it is making something that they want to be a part of.
That kind of money is a drop in the bucket, and very easy to rationalize to MS leadership. MS gutted their gaming division in favor of third party partnerships. That's why game after game in-house was cancelled.
You don't understand the fundamental shift in MS's corporate leadership that caused them to go from the enemies of open source to paying billions to own Github. Look at how they completely train wrecked their hard earned domination of PC gaming to pander to console audiences in the 2000s, yet have managed to regain trust and confidence with PC audiences in a matter of a few years.

I was talking about game awards and sales metrics don't inform or impact people's choice to play games. Both of those ( awards and sales numbers) come long AFTER something has released. its metacritic and reviews do influence people purchasing games. Not hard to see the difference between the two.
Have you ever heard a lot of people buying games because of the game awards? NO. Have you ever heard anyone here say, "omg that game has sold 10 million units, I think i should buy it!" no....

According to Morgan, Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 looks very blurry, running between 720p and 900p resolution, and the framerate for any driving around the big city areas is constantly at around 20.

Returnal is a next gen only, PS5 exclusive, running at 60 FPS, coming out in March.

Thread has been slow for awhile now.
There were multiple PS5 games shown.
Perfect Dark had no gameplay as usual from MS.
The rest was basically ads from MS. You got hyped off ad spots? Ok.

Plenty of people are talking about the Last of Us 2 getting all those awards incase you didn't notice. That's one thing that Sony did.
We didn't get a door but we got a window. Is she going to play the role of pyramid head in the Silent Hill reboot?

I think the point being made was Sony's tools are better, but they have been for some time and likely will continue to be. So throughout this generation he expects the performance differential to remain very small.
I don't think MS is doing XSX|S many favours with the combined development approach of X1/XSS/XSX but that does have it's own advantages you can see in things like a 120FPS mode in CoD:Warzone and a CP2077 Quality mode which aren't available on PS5 and won't be until a PS5 specific version is released.

This is what you got from that show last night, Wow, i must admit after viewing that show my thoughts were miles away from pushing console warring narratives but yer each to their own i guess..
i mean if you like Cgi trailers sure project dark like the other 20 things they showed like that were great. yawn.
All i know is i hate the direction we seem to be going with the games, the amount of 4 player shooter crap i saw was disappointing.
Last night's show was basically another yawnfest, with so many uninspiring games.
