Kleegamefan if you're listening this post, want you to know you're welcome here. We're already have tons of neo members saying they're insider as well so will not make difference.

If he asked for a perma ban because he got 'scared' of exposing his source (and not because of harassment), why would he come here? What would change in GAF where his source's exposure is concerned? And if he left because he was pestered by thirsty posters, what would change in GAF?

He wasn't banned - he asked for a ban. Which means he didn't leave because he couldn't keep up with the rules of ERA. He left for reasons which are undoubtedly present here.

But apparently, "everyone" (which ackshually means "large group of people") are treating insiders like God's gift to man even though "large" has not been quantified.

C'mon, man. He's right. It's a figure of speech. Everyone can occasionally be used to mean 'a large group of people' or a 'very large percentage'. I'm not saying he's right about the specific use of the analogy, but people *do* use everyone like he means occasionally.

Same goes with 'no one'. For example, you can say 'No one uses VHS tapes anymore.' But there definitely will be some people who have a functioning VCR and watch VHS tapes on it. By saying 'no one' in this case, you mean 'a large percentage of people do not ….' etc.

Let it go.

You must missed previous gen. Always happens in the early stages of next gen. Again I prefer to believe in insiders who already proved right once or more times. Again gonna repeat myself because some people have problems with this: Sony release more than one devkit. Stop taking revisions as an absolute true.

So about @OsirisBlack ..

ok so PS5 > Xbox2 .. something something the cloud, and PS5 runs at 2.1GHz .. seems straightforward enough

JeGe2wT.png

wtf the fuck does this mean though .. am I supposed to do the sums ie 3x3.19 becomes 9.19 .. which means ??
[edit] so #ff240 is rgb for scarlet .. no idea about the rest, are they dates, TF figures, IP addresses .. no idea
That's ASCII for "Scarlett is out in the wild", as it was cracked. That was right before Phil said he had the actual box at home ;)

Never bought into this insider crap, rather stick to facts and concrete information. Are some of them right? Sure, but most information out there is wrong and is always subject to change. I'll listen, but won't put my faith in it.

So... why not say "a large group" or "a lot of people"? Doesn't take any more energy to say that, honestly...

Not to mention, when asked to quantify what he meant as a "large group", he couldn't do it. So why should I cease making fun of him?

To people who followed the pre-release of the current generation, were there any notable leaks for the specs of the PS5 and Xbox One by January 2013?

Hi guys, I'm newly registered and have been following this thread for a while. Among all the rumors and predictions, I'm still quite curious about the one mentioning 'dual CU' back in June.
I know lots of people took a good laugh about it, and believe it's a fanboy's wet dream, but dual CU does not equal to 'dual GPU'.
If you take a look at AMD's RDNA architecture whitepaper, it stated that 'dual compute unit design is the essence of the RDNA architecture', and the Block diagram of Radeon RX 5700 XT clearly shows that 5700 XT is 20 dual CU design which equals to 40 cu.
36 dual cu for ps5 sounds a bit overkill and power consuming, but could it because of the BC requirement it has to be mocking the ps4 pro cu counts? Just a thought. Sorry for my English if it causes any misunderstanding.

This actually is the route Sony took with the Pro. They basically mirrored their CUs, and then upclocked them, all in one GPU. Could they have started with B/C, figuring out what would be easier, then moved on to making the PS5 by following what they did in the Pro? Possible I think. Personally, I think they most likely just opted for more CUs, 40-44, and will disable a few when playing a PS4 game.

Lol, don't worry about it. He gets his kicks from being a forum troll. Let the guy have his fun. He knows exactly what he is doing.

That...that's "interesting" (as in, super unexpected).

He requested the ban.

It's used as an exaggeration. To prove your point and make the other party's opinion sound obsolete.
However, exaggeration involves warping the reality of the situation, effectively hurting the credibility of the exaggerator more than it hurts the other party's opinion. Not exactly a smart thing to do...

Depends on the exaggeration itself. For example, I think my VCR example does a pretty good job at sounding reasonable yet exaggerated at the same time. You cannot really disprove that sentence without going all semantics on your fellow debater.

My two cents, anyway.

fuck yeah. We even had internal docs from a hacker named superdae that showed ms' long term strat all the way to 2019. FBI showed up at his australian door, lol.

mmh.. that isn't ascii, but if I do the sums I get :

9.19
15.21.20
9.14
20.8.5
23.9.12.4

which using a..z = 1..26

gives

(Scarlet)
is
put
go
the
wild

I guess

Dosen't mean that next consoles (both) can't reach those kind of details

Thinks for example at TLOU 3 or death stranding 2 on ps5 with ray tracing and 4k (real this time)
I know they won't look like that to begin the gen.. Reminds me of when they first showed off uc4 and then we finally got game play

So 2.1 GHz from Osiris, and 36 CU from elsewhere - together only 9.7TF (and 200W just for the GPU, double what it'd be at 1.7GHz)

difficult to understand decision - they know developers will push it, so it'll be at top clcoks most of the time in game, plus the silicon lottery.

Hard to believe, but far far stupider console decisions have been made before.

btw AMD's CES gpu announcements weren't exiting for me, but they do fill out the Navi picture a lot - now we have a range of Navi10s

5700XT,5700,5600XT,and 5600 - all 251mm2 chips, all the way down from 40CU to 32CU at the bottom - but the interesting thing is the clocks - game clock from 1.375 up to 1.68GHz, and boost clock from 1.56 to 1.98GHz -- look at the "waste" from trying to get a chip with 40CUs and the higher end clock.

To me this leaves a 2.1GHz clock for Sony's chip close to crazy town, but we'll see.

lol i think it was a cypher for it's out in the wild i think (if i remember) which is (you guess it) nothing.

I don't think Klee would be afraid of admitting he was wrong, IF people would allow him to have his helping of humble pie and move on.

But people won't do that. Whether he's RIGHT or WRONG. What would follow would be an epic orgy of mental diarrhea. People wouldn't act right about it or appreciate that leaks often end up wrong all the time.

Those frustrated with him or threatened by his leaks would behave like Smaug and take things to the point where mods wouldn't have a choice in the effort to restore sanity to their communities.

In either case, Mods better have their fire hoses ready.

that 2ghz gpu clock always looked like a max clock test to me.

2ghz would be absolutely crazy, especially if they go for a form factor close to a PS4.
the Pro already sounds like a fuckin jet engine whenever I play Death Stranding... how the fuck would a 2ghz PS5 sound like? 😳😳

Thanks Metal (I captured your correction post).

If anyone else has claims they remember (and from who), please share. Anyone know who said the +/- 10% claim?

Guy who leaked Oberon specs (from around spring 2019) = 9.2TF

Klee: More than 10TF, PS5 > XSX by 5% (none over 11TF). Lockhart model cancelled
Osiris: More than 10TF. PS5 > XSX
Un-named journalist: 13TF devkit

Matt from Reeee (I think Matt the moderator, not Matt the NPD guy)

Our one TLZ TLZ dual gpu leak, on the Pastebin he created on his phone
@TLZ post

Lol everyone certain xbox is more powerful then days later everyone certain ps5 is then days later no one has a clue again...

Wait for the official specs

LOL
Why

Lol, I can tell this is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to you. Ok, I was completely absolutely wrong in everything I typed. My word usage is garbage, I know nothing, and the Mad Draklor is in fact the most amazing wonderful person in the world.

See, you was harassed by only one dude and loose it... he's not really a god lol that's crazy.
Now Imagine Klee harassed by a bunch of dudes... 🤪

I guess is the mod from REE with duck avatar.

The other Matt, who work at NPD, already ragequit from there.
Well doubt they will share anything until specs actually revealed when they could say openly that he was right or wrong

Yeah, that's a good point with how not all exaggerations are equal. That said, your VCR example is exponentially far more reasonable than saying "everyone" treats insiders like "God's gift of man" (since it's an exaggeration on top of another exaggeration).

Highly plausible; Sony's been doing their own custom stuff with ray-tracing for a long time now. The 12TF number for XSX probably includes the ray-tracing; with ray-tracing being applied that's going to eat away a percentage of the 12TF regardless (unless devs do it through the CPU, but then that takes resources away from the CPU).

Really hoping this is the case because at least that means SOMETHING that's genuinely different between the two systems in terms of tech and how it's implemented. It'd be fun to see developers utilize both methods to see where their advantages and disadvantages are at.

It won't and shouldn't work this way. I'd argue Microsoft with DirectX has probably been at this far longer and was pretty instrumental in Nvidia's hardware implementation of RT for their GPUs, will be for AMD's own and has worked with many other hardware vendors as well as engine creators towards implementation of the technique. What many game engines and GPU manufacturers are building in support for, and companies such as Nvidia have created hardware acceleration solutions to take advantage of, is quite literally called Microsoft DirectX Ray Tracing. Microsoft made it.

As far as it taking away from the percentage of the 12TF it simply won't work that way. The way Nvidia does it, for example, is they literally use far more powerful versions of their equivalent Compute Units (in Nvidia's case Streaming Processors) but despite being as powerful as they are, they are far more simplistic and stripped down in nature and don't have nearly the degree of flexibility as a typical Nvidia Streaming Processor or CUDA core that is used to make up the GPU's teraflops figure. This is why Nvidia advertises also Ray Perf such as 10GRays/s or things like "RTX-OPs". They are considered different entirely, and as such could not be used for the GPUs fp32 single precision teraflop count.

If it worked that way, Nvidia would call their RTX 2080 Ti, which is anywhere between an 11.7TFLOPS and 13.4TFLOPS card much more powerful than that since each RT Core in the RTX GPUs contains 114TFLOPS of FP16 performance. That's how powerful a single RT Core in an RTX 2080 or 2080 Ti is.

Short version: If Xbox Series X has whatever version of hardware accelerated ray tracing that AMD is using, it likely won't be counted as apart of the GPUs 12Teraflop fp32 single precision number. It'll have it's own entirely separate metric for measurement, like what Nvidia came up with for their RTX cards.

That's why 'insiders' should put up or shut up. The ones with the endless teasing (which anyone could do) are bound to annoy people after a while. All they achieve is to make it look like they want attention.

Anyone seriously in the know is NDA'd up the ass and respects the rules. Typically.

Seems your getting a little upset there buddy, once again over something that's not even on topic ... Its obvious you are our real third victim you Mad Mad Draklor.

Ironic how this is coming our dear 1st victim. I see that your sanity still have not recovered since the topic is about insiders (specifically how people allegedly view them) and thus, is related in the first place.

Because he realised how stupidly unrealistic his made up specs are. 2ghz in retail box is already unrealistic expectation but there are people who believe his 2.1ghz stories. :pie_roffles:

And don't make me mention all that stupid talk in riddles. Dude legit having fun trolling you all and getting attention.
