Penello knew for sure. You promise Timdog the xbox is stronger and he convinces 16,000 followers on twitter just like that.

it's all very icky. i wish sony interacted with their fans a bit more, but the way timdog handles himself on twitter and here is simply not something MS or Phil Spencer should ever dream of associating with. Let alone encourage it like they have by using these fans to do controlled leaks, harass reporters like Andrew Reiner, Jason Schrier and Klee into submission, and flood forums with misinformation while harassing any insider that dares to say otherwise.

Agreed. It's pretty bad and dont see why he hasn't been banned here. Seems like a cool guy but definitely not adding anything to the forum but controversy and giant troll behaviors.

Asked about bc for both systems and was told "Game doesn't have to work on PS4 but we are dealing with both current X systems." Out of respect I won't quote exactly what he said about it but it seems they aren't letting current gen hold them back. I'd avoid ambitious games that are definitely aimed at PS5 and XseX if I didn't own one or a good gaming computer.

His final thoughts, "Everyone is missing the big picture. We're running at native 4k and locked 60 with room to spare on both kits.We are able to implement systems and gameplay devices that would crush current consoles, our Lighting alone current gen drops the game to under 20fps at very low resolutions."

Im going to see if I can actually get him or someone else to commit to an interview about their current games. By commit I mean put his name out their we just won't be able to go into much detail about the systems but they are primed to show off 000000 O.

I have a question concerning the processing power of the GPU. Did your source make some comparison to some PC GPUs? Like, is it comparable to the RTX 2080 or less? Thx!

I truly don't think people understand just how amazing Halo looked at E3. It was running at 60fps, the quality of the textures on the pilot's clothing were incredible. The geometry on the character and in the surrounding environment looked excellent. And we have to keep in mind what type of game Halo is. This game also appears more open this time around. That game was far more impressive than people realize. I think when we get the first gameplay a lot of people are going to be absolutely blown away when they see how the game's art style comes together with what 343 is doing technically with the engine on Xbox Series X.

It was nothing special for a cutscene. Halo 5 looks amazing in cutscenes too, but then you switch to gameplay and it's a massive difference. NX Gamer analysed this and said that the cutscene from Infinite is no proof it will look like that in gameplay.

I don't agree, it didn't look anything special and remember this is a game that has to run primarily on the XB1 with its netbook CPU and HDD.

On top of that, 343 has shown they do not have talent on par with the best in the industry like ND, Guerilla Games etc to push the artstyle to something noteworthy. That's just reality. If Infinite was going to be visually mind blowing, how come Halo 5 was bang average visuals wise? This is very telling. By contrast, Uncharted 4 or Horizon: ZD were absolutely mind blowing on PS4. Some devs have the set-up and environment to push visuals to their limit. Others do not, 343 is one of them and history has shown this.
 
As a general rule to remember , Most of youtubers know nothing about next gen NDA stuff as its so easy to track where they got fed from and no one would be willing to take such risk. Once in a blue moon maybe but none of them are getting consistenly info from Ms and Sony side .unless its controlled leak by ms or sony to use them as pr machine to control the narrative.
Other than that , They are just raging fanboys wanting to make some tiny amount of money and fame while being themselves, raging fanboys.

If i remember correctly before the PS4 Pro was announced some information got complicated as eventually it turned out that 2 new Playstations were revealed, the PS4 Slim and the PS4 Pro. What if now the same thing is happening? What if Sony (and maybe Microsoft too) are not only preparing new Consoles but also preparing slimmer models of their existing consoles and trying to use similar chips (to save money?) and all these lower power results are the results of that?

I don't post on RE that much, for the simple reason if you say milk is white, somebody comes along and tells you it's not. But then you're not really allowed to ask why and have a discussion. People are in mods pockets, and sadly, nobody has a sense of humour. I have a sarcastic posting style, which on RE is suicide because nobody there can take a joke.

NeoGaf can be bad with people not agreeing. Heaven forbid you post anything Xbox positive in this thread, because Sony > MS 20:1 here. But here, you can at least have somewhat of a discussion with most people. Sure most wont listen 🤣 but you can at least discuss things without people running to the mods for no reason.

As per that original post, I actually forget what it was all about? If memory serves me, Resident Evil 2 has a sharpening filter applied to its visuals. This causes a lot of noise with high frequency detail, so, high specular components. Essentially anything bright will be turned to white, and look overbright, but more importantly anything small and thin will stand out more. So I'm the case of let's say rain outdoors, it's much sharper and aliased, and flickers. Using TXAA+FAA will help with this, as it's a post process filter which is applied to the whole screen. it's faster than traditional AA because it doesn't have to detect edges, however it's also like putting an entire blur over the screen. Far detail is blended, but sharp pixel perfect effects (like that rain, or your reflections) are blended together.

The Pro version only uses singular AA, and as such looks sharper. Much sharper. But also doesn't blur these details out. The X version uses both and looks more blurry (despite being higher resolution even), especially on things over distance. But it won't have this attifacting but, well, the AA is aggressive to the point of removing that high frequency detail.

I seem to remember there was also talk about colour grading as well? Which is a bit busted in RE2 as they push their blacks into blue territory.

Of course, you try discussing this with little Tommy who doesn't have the first clue what AA even is, much less writes his own shaders and understands the language behind them...

The mods are aware of these people, and don't just let people pose as anybody just for the fun of it.

Timdog is a fanboy, for sure, but I'll be honest, that last post from Osiris really did push way into fanboy territory as well.

Like I said, use your heads and cut through the BS, and come to your own conclusions. Nothing better than hard cold facts, and at the moment, this thread is very short on those.

No, because those same leaks say that Sony changed plans in early 2018. Can't select a leak that works with your agenda and then not use the parts in it you don't like. If the leak regarding a 2019 launch plan is correct, so is the information that plans changed in early 2018. So if in late 2018 somebody talks about specs (that would be even higher than what Ariel was, which was at 1.8 GHz early 2019) nothing makes any sense. It's simply false information. That 2.1 GHz Navi GPU would have been 9.68 TF.
 
Apparently someone who is in association work with SONY has accidentally post a pic with the following - poorly translated to English-
" They had to move us to new offices to continue the supply of PS5 .....!!!! deadline is May " this comment might has something to do with Corona virus outbreak in China and its affect on hand workers who supply chain the console .

I recall Daniele Giannetti (architect of the Slipspace engine) mentioning that "Halo Infinite has the most cutting edge engine on the planet." to IGN. I am interested if this claim will hold up. But if it's pushing 60fps, I bet there will be better looking games out there that are aiming for 30fps.

But who cares, more Halo is always welcome for me.

If his information in regards to next gen consoles will be wrong he gets banned (unlike other insiders he share very specific details so we will know if he was lying or not), however if his information will end up correct then you WIN a ban :D. Care to point me towards where you said anything about a new Tsushima trailer or that the devkit is the final box? Because the search function doesn't return any such results.

Also for a person with no agenda you sure took some smashing hits at Tim when he says something that doesn't sound great about PS5. Not the reaction I would expect from an objective person.

Why would the boss of their studios have an impact? He's just a figurehead. Doesn't impact hardware development at all and should not impact software development either. It's not like a company stops functioning if they get a new CEO.

There is no 3rd party mandate for Xbox. Matt Booty was asked at X019 about supporting Xbox One and One X in the future. He said that it's important for them that their customers know that if they buy a console now, they can expect support in the future. And that's why all games from Xbox Games Studios (aka first party games) will come out on all Xbox consoles for the next year or two. That's it. Everything that was made out of this statement is just console warring. You can launch an XSX exclusive title no problem. Just Microsoft has chosen for their own games that they can't do that because back when they killed OG Xbox and went to 360 they have gotten a ton of bad press for abandoning their users and not supporting them with games.
