To have no loading screens I think devs should change how the game works only for PS5. They will probably scale loadings to the storage capability. We might face a problem for that comparison, as PS5 might have no loading screens. Probably it's safe to make an imaginary ~1sec for PS5 to make it comparable.
any USB AMPs currently out that are good/recommended?
lmao shows how much you know. I was kicked outta there quite some time ago for being too positive about playstation 5 in my comments and I even got shit for it a few times from a few posters. So yea, think what you want. I apparently piss off both sides, which means I must be doing something right.
Wtf man . U said ps5 doesn't have hardware raytracing amd cerny lied and u insisted about it and u got perma banned then you created jackall user name and did the same thing and got banned for creating alt account .lmao shows how much you know. Well, that is difficult to answer, not because there are not many, but because it really depends on the price point you're comfortable with. If you want to go all in, something like the Marantz HD-AMP1 is great to consider:
https://www.us.marantz.com/en-us/shop/hificomponents/hdamp1
But if you're not willing to pay that much, I would say that this is one of the best budget solutions available out there:

HP-DAC1 Digital to Analog Converter / Headphone Preamp
The HP-DAC1 Digital to Analog Converter / Headphone Preamp, support 24bit/96KHz HD audio and provides clarity, separation, less muffling and more detail sound and an apparent volume boost from what was output straight from your laptop. Also improves the transparency and soundstage of the music...www.soundavo.com
Again, it really depends on the price point you're looking for, it's easier to search around that, than just look for good ones, because there are quite a few good ones, but in very different price ranges.
I hope this is kinda helpful.
I actually love reading misterxmedia tier posts, that confusion is just too funny. These people were literally traumatised in 2013 and now we have to deal with this lmaoWtf man . Audio can be a very expensive world, and I can assure you (I work with audio), 1099$ is nothing haha
And I think you can find that one on amazon for around 750$ (I know, still expensive, but I guess that next economic crisis will be a bit lesser)

AnytimeIt's actually new to me, I really appreciate your input and other knowledgeable people here in the audio field. I wrote both on a notepad file and should search more about the best possible value + PS5 and if I can use the mic on DualSense separately (which I think I can).
So far, using the 3.5 aux from the TV itself it's producing something much better compared to the 3.5 aux out my PC. This is stepping into a new territory that would make me feel like I was a caveman all those years and spend more money on it. We should spoil our senses, if we can afford that, I guess.
Thanks a lot!![]()

you know that it can be placed on the side? They have to be proud because it's going to be very difficult to convince a lot of people to change their TV stands/cabinets to accommodate 30 cm of Xbox. I know it might sound trivial for a real fan of the brand but millions of people out there will just look at the small fridge, shrug and buy the smaller form factor console which doesn't make them change their entire setup.
Are you serious, man? Yes, those max numbers could happen occasionally, please don't muddy the water with things that have nothing to do to the matter.
If you have a problem with those numbers try contacting Mark Cerny or Phil Spencer:
A custom decompressor has been built into the PS5's I/O unit capable of handling over 5GB of Kraken input format per second. After decompression, that becomes around eight or nine gigabytes. The I/O unit itself, however, is capable of outputting as much as 22GB/s if the data compressed well.

The PS5's drive is far faster, though. It is capable of 5.5GB/s data transfer, which turns into 8-9GB/s when compression is used. This does not slow the console down either, as there is hardware dedicated to decompression of this data. Microsoft's Xbox Series X SSD is fast, and can use similar hardware-based compression, but its speeds are 2.4GB/s, or 6GB/s with compression.

PS5 vs Xbox Series X — how different are they, really?
It's clear that the PS5 is nimble and smart while the Xbox Series X has brute force power, but there are many other aspects to consider. Here we outline them allwww.wired.co.uk
Let's respect the readers around here and avoid taking things out of context.
You seem to be mixing things up, can you provide links stating that XSX SSD can do 560GB/s? Thanks.
=====
Out of curiosity, I searched for how State of Decay 2 is doing with just SATA 3 SSD (0.5GB/s only compared to 2.4GB/s on XSX):
Here's his description:
After seeing how the new xbox loads this game and alos to see how a new pcie or pci mini ssd could factor in on how fast the game loads right now 19 seconds is how long it takes to load in and that is not too bad yet there is always room for improvments.
His build specs:
![]()
So 51sec on X1 with 0.05-0.1GB/s HDD, 19sec on PC with SATA 3 SSD with a speed of 0.5GB/s, and 11sec on XSX with 2.4GB/s SSD. So XSX is only 0.7x faster than a PC with SATA 3 and DDR3 ram and weak, outdated specs PC with all the bottlenecks known on PC's.
If anyone got a problem with that, try contacting the guy, don't kill the messenger.
EDIT: Checked the video again and it's 11sec vs 51sec on X1, 4.6x faster.

If your TV is a top of the line one, it definitely has a better audio solution than a PC with the stock audio cards they usually come with, so that's why it is better. Audio is something that's a lot of times, neglected, and it pains me. That's why I'm so excited for both the Tempest Engine, and the XBox solution, it shows love for audio. Particularly the Tempest Engine, having the different HRTF profiles, and Mark Cerny hinting that it may be possible in the future to have your own one. I have my own HRTF already measured and ready to go for when they give us a chance to make a profile of our own (did that basically to have a good music listening experience), so the experience could potentially be absolutely amazing.
Wow, so you even have your own HRTF (just googled it: Head Related Transfer Function ). Do you use some kind of ear caps to do so? Would love to measure mine as well! I think PS5 might push for some simplified HRTF measurements through smartphones and probably integrated in the PS app. Music, for example, has been a very critical tool in gaming to shape your overall experience, something I really trust Hideo Kojima's with.
Music in games has been one of the biggest parts of the games I played, loved. They usually control your feelings, push your tears out when tailored properly with the scene/story.
Of course, music is only a minor concern of the new tech in the Tempest, as it's meant to give you the feeling of being inside the game, to detect sound sources, forget your reality. Indeed, I'm mostly speaking about singleplayer games, but it's tactically critical for shooters, until a kid swears and threatens to rape someone's mom.
honest question; do you get/understand difference between tech demo vs backward compatible standard game?
re. The tempest engine, do you think this will be available on launch? Do you have any details on what additional work this generates for developers?
honestly man, while I enjoy your posts it is getting tiring, I mean this console warrior act you push, like with you spreading fud about no AAA games on xsex etc.
Remember, on the Mark Cerny presentation, when he talked about HRTF, the shots of Sid Shuman seated with a weird circle like structure full of speakers? That's the way I had my HRTF measured, and that's the most accurate way (doing it in a anechoic chamber). Fortunately, I have a couple friends that work with it, they work with binaural audio, that were gracious enough to invite me over to their studio and have it done. But there are easier ways to do it, absolutely, even if they're not as accurate. It's still going to change your experience for the good. I mean, see it this way, having your own HRTF profile, is as if the mixing engineer mixed the whole sound sources/soundtrack specifically with you in mind, taking into account how you perceive sound from wherever it comes.
And I absolutely agree with what you said about music in games. Hell, music in general. My work is mainly music related, and I'll be damned if sometimes, when I'm recording something special, it doesn´t trigger an emotional response in me.
I would say that yes, tech will improve and you could potentially have it done in a more accurate way than you could right now, but still, doing it on an anechoic chamber, the placing of the sound sources to take the measurements, that's still something that takes a vital role to all of it, and you probably are not going to be able to do it at home with that much accuracy, so to speak.I doubt I'll ever be as lucky as you are and have it that accurate. But I think tech will improve and might simplify the process, and might even get even more accurate? I can see PSVR2, new PS headset, or other accessory being shipped with HRTF simplified measurements, suggests an HRTF preset and being able to make further adjustments. It's quite weird for most gamers whom aren't aware of it, like me.
I can see Sony replacing Dolby Atmos in its own TV's and devices going forward if it succeeds on PS5, along with Sony's 360 Reality Audio for music and movies? Making it a new high-end standard.
MS published those videos as their technology demonstration. Loading time improvement and quick resume demonstrations. If they were doing even better times than those then they should have demonstrated those better times.honest question; do you get/understand difference between tech demo vs backward compatible standard game?

I could definitely see them implementing it on TV's, because, at the end of the day, the greatest thing it has it's that it doesn't require any proprietary solutions when it comes to hardware, you can use any headphones or any device of your choosing, and that is great. But replacing Dolby, that's another story. I mean, it's a deeply stablished standard for audio, and it could hurt them way more than just having them coexist.
Dude I just realized something. There have been rumors about Hideo Kojima making a horror game. Now imagine him using PS5 Audio tech, maybe even PSVR2 combined with that and some haptic feedback controllers in a Horror Game. Thats gonna scare the shit out of me.Great! But we have no idea how Spiderman was handled as well. If you don't consider the super fast demo in the city, the one that shows load times seems just identical to the standard game.Basic commonsense will tell you that once they made the decision to not demonstrate games designed with XSX in mind at the time of these demonstrations, showing last gen tech on SSD was all they had to show. If the game demoed is built to only stream 20mbps, the fastest SSD in the world will only have a negligible impact on performance. Games built with an XSX mode could very well stream assets at more than a GB/s (a 50 times improvement over what most current gen games are doing), that will net more visible differences.
Is neogaf became so accessible to be able to create an alt account.
Cause when i registered in 2007 we must wait approval and only Internet provider mail was authorized.
But we have no idea how Spiderman was handled as well. If you don't consider the super fast demo in the city, the one that shows load times seems just identical to the standard game.
And of course you can say: but why not make a custom build for the conference?
Yeah, but MS didn't it seems. So how we can say Sony did for certain?
Truth is, in practice loadings COULD really be much more efficient on PS5 even for old gen games compared to SeX, because examples of this SUGGEST so.
I'm not spreading BS, an algorithm is an algorithm. It's one thing to process already created audio and position it, it's a whole other thing to create an algorithm to generate the right sound in a 3-Dimensional space and give it physical properties. Quite frankly I think both Sony and Microsoft will be so similar in the way this is done that it's not going to matter. When I think about 3D audio, I think about Steam Audio and how great it is. If Valve can do this well with hundreds of sources, then anyone can. https://valvesoftware.github.io/steam-audio/Sony been involved with audio for decades, what BS are you spouting? Do you actually believe that they just create speakers, headphones or audio equipment and they don't have their own audio-based research group to take advantage of their own equipment? If that's not FUD, I don't know what is
I basically use a 7.1 system built from Bowers & Wilkins speakers. Is what I use for entertainment stuff, like TV, console... It's expensive stuff, but it's so worth it.
The thing is, when talking about those small, in-ear type headphones you ought to look for something that has different kind of cushions so they can fit properly inside your ears without hurting. But I find that type to be the best (the ones that go inside your ears vs the small ones that do not), the way the sound goes into your ear canal makes for a better listening experience, and they isolate from the external noise much better.![]()
Sweet, I only use headset or classic headphones, Sony MH410c that came with Xperia Z3:
![]()
Those are extremely comfy and can have them for very long hours without feeling a thing, but I cover them with replaceable cushions
![]()
They are very, very good. I actually been searching for them for ages and just found their name, now I can order them from aliexpress.com
I use them for PC, Netflix, and would love to use them on my phone as well. I would order a bunch. If you know something better with the same profile let me know. I hate the stupid, cheap sound quality of apple with tiny speakers with zero bass or other ones that you need to squeeze inside your ears that are pretty painful after sometime.
For gaming I kinda regret buying Astro A40+mixer. I think PS Platinum would've been much better. They have very weak bass, I enjoyed cheap headsets with turtle beach little amp with insane bass much better, although not as sharp and clean.
I rarely chat, so I can go with a headset with no mic, thanks to DualSense. I'll search more about your gear![]()
