One more sleep!
About 17 hours until show time!

I'm not expecting a lot.
All I want is the console reveal, price and date. To see Horizon 2...I don't think it'll be a launch title probably Q4 2021. I don't think Sony will have a big AAA launch title. They'll push Godfall and some of the big multi-plats. Maybe we'll see a Ratchet & Clank 2 launch title. Some Harry Potter would be nice.

Not showing the console would be so god damn irritating. Why have the reveal then? Its June. C'mon already.
 
I think a lot of next gen is going to be about natural, smooth animation. I've just seen this and though I'm not a sport games fan, I love the possibilities it opens.

Yeah they usually show Console designs and price in June. I guess it is really a different way of doing things at the start of the new decade.

HZD I'd say would be Q1 2021. But definitely in that year is my guess. More so than GOW or Spider-Man. Those games are barely 2 years old.

Naughty Dog is already giving us a taste with the animation supposedly in the TLoU2.

Definitely looking forward to seeing how it goes for MLB The Show next gen.

Love my SteelSeries 7 though hate the poor battery life.
 
What's with all the over-ear headphones? I have a Sennheiser but I don't find them comfortable at all after a while. I don't like the pressure on my head and it gets sweaty in there.

I switched back to in-ear headphones. They're the best.

I can't stand to work out with over the ear headphones. Like the Beats I have, great for on airplanes, in office, etc. but NOT for working out. Way too sweaty and warm after a bit. For workouts I have the waterproof Bose Sport earbuds. Great bass and they stay in like they're glued, but don't hurt my ears after a long time wearing them either. Very comfortable. At least the best I've found so far for working out. I tend to like more bass in my music as well, so a lot of the high end headphones just aren't for me as they sound too tinny. Too much focus on the high end freqs.

I like the sound isolation, even if minimal, when my ears are totally inside. I get too distracted using in-ear.

Just get a good pair of headphones and a DAC/Amp. I'm a big fan of the Sennheisser HD58X Jubilee Edition. It's probably the best set of cans for under 200. I use a SMSL SD793-ii DAC/amp combo device on my ps4 but if you want something more gaming oriented then then the Creative Soundblaster G5/6 is really good but kinda expensive for most people.

To add. PS5 gives opportunity also for quality wireless home theater sets as the mic will be via controller anyway. I sport somewhat aging Sennheiser HD180 which sound magnificent.

Yes, the idea around 3D Audio and using HRTF based algorithms is that you can have it downmixed to a 2.0 output without losing the sense of presence and locality Cerny talked about in the Road to PS5 video.

And to answer a little more directly to the guy you quote, neutral/cold headphones, as he said, is the way to go. You don't really want your headphones to color the sound. Obviously, most of them do it to an extent, specially not being studio headphones, but you want ones that are balanced and have a broad frequency range, that means more detail can be achieved (always depending on the source, obviously). Clarity over bass, always, even if the selling point of a lot of headphones is the "extra bass", the "punchy bass" and all that. You obviously want low frequencies to pack a punch in your headphones, but that work has to be primarily done in the mixing stage, not by your headphones artificially pumping up some frequencies, or a determined frequency range.
