While that would be a killer move by MS, i highly doubt that EA would put the newest Fifa on gamepass. Especially if people pay like 1$ for it. The game is in the top selling charts almost every month.Their new sports titles day and date on Gamepass in partnership with EA could be a huge deal i guess.
Otherwise yeah i'm not a huge fan of EA either.
Xbox is confirmed 802.11ac. Not wifi 6 (ax). PS5 is unknown.Something that just crossed my mind. Do we have any information on the WiFi capabilities of either console? Would be nice for downloads to not take PS4 wait times.
X1 2/PS4 4/X1X 4/PRO 8
If Ryan is starting the PR spin switch already, Phil and Aaron must have told him they're dropping Xbox One version of Halo. Sent him out to start spinning, warm the crowd up.
Naah, it would be overkill.Indeed, base PS4 has 8 of them and I remember reading somewhere that the Pro had, again, more than base PS4, so robably 16.
Perhaps 32 in PS5?
I hope not, UE5 nanites relay on ACEs
Naah.It was obvious to anyone with any technical knowledge that when it comes to game development, on any platform, your minimum spec machine always limits the game design on the highest spec machine. So it's impossible to create a game that takes complete advantage of all the next-gen hardware features and capabilities while simultaneously running well on last-gen hardware.
The same principle is going to apply to Xbox Series S (Lockhart) which will serve as Microsoft's minimum spec machine for next-gen, much like Xbox One S does now. Anybody who tells you Lockhart won't hold back game design, is making the same mistake Ryan did. Lockhart won't hold back any games in 2020 or 2021. But in 3-4 years, when game devs are exploiting the full capabilities of PS5 and XSX, Lockhart will definitely be holding things back (specifically the limited memory).
No, no way Sony will announce God of War 2 out of nowhere. This makes no sense at all, GoW isn't the kind of game you casually throw announcements.
Naah.
Lockhart will be unnecessary pain in the ass to work with, but shouldn't be holding back nextgen due having same ZEN2 CPU and SSD as big brother.
Most of PCs ( because if you look on steam parts charts only maybe 5% of PC players would have better GPU than nextgen consoles )and currentgen - here is the problem.
I doubt they care. Phil says next gen exclusives are bad, then they announced several next gen exclusives like 2 weeks later.I think you might be on to something there.
I am pretty sure it has crossed their mind.
The damage, however, it might be a bridge too far if they do that.
Xbox Series S be like.

Just weaker GPU.
I understand the CPU and GPU won't be an issue. I specifically said memory. The rumor is that Lockhart has only 10GB of DRAM. That's less than the Xbox One X I currently own (12GB). Memory size always affects game design, so it will absolutely hold games back as we get late in the generation.
You're right, RAM could be an issue later into generation. And RAM

You can see it on the spec sheet shown by Digital Foundry back in March. Its fine for most users, no need to overspend.Damn really? Didn't know that. I'm wired all the way anyway but that's weird XSX isn't wifi 6.
Well actually the LCD are PC's with HDD's. So Series S (which is architecturally the same as Series X) won't really have an effect.
Indeed, base PS4 has 8 of them and I remember reading somewhere that the Pro had, again, more than base PS4, so robably 16.

Well, PS5 will at least have 8 of them due to BC with the Pro and I would find it odd if they didn't add some more, perhaps doubled them to 16.
So if that UE5 demo relied on them, ouch for the XSX...

I am not affirming anything. I'm just saying that people can speculate down and up too.
But I insist, I am not affirming anything.

Honestly... I'd lose my shit more of Sony Santa Monica told me Journey 2 was being made. No, no way Sony will announce God of War 2 out of nowhere. This makes no sense at all, GoW isn't the kind of game you casually throw announcements.
Delaying Halo Infinate not only is costing them Money ( probably $40 million extra), but also confirm failure of long the planned strategy( which will impose extra cost as well) this will decrease Xbox division margins, and if XsX (or GP) doesn't meet sales expectations, then we won't see Spencer as the head of Xbox after 1st Q2021. Matt Booty will definitely be out as well.I doubt they care. Phil says next gen exclusives are bad, then they announced several next gen exclusives like 2 weeks later.
Ryan suddenly sees that cross gen is bad for "AAA system seller" games. Aka 1st party games. Aka Halo. He knows.
It's 12 x 64 GiB (68.72 GB) = 824.6 GB
Asynchronous compute isn't 'all' about the number of ACE's, and more is not always better.Indeed, base PS4 has 8 of them and I remember reading somewhere that the Pro had, again, more than base PS4, so robably 16.

How can IGN hire such technologically deficient mutants in such capacities? Executive Editor?
At least have some semblance of a clue when it comes to technology!
Someone who's intellectual levels couldn't comprehend to him that 1.3-1.8TF would severely hamper 10.3-12TF, shouldn't be in a position to tell other people about stuff.
Space will be an issue like it was in the past.
Ill have an external SSD for transferring and will be buying a large internal when they are available.
Also have fast internet so anything downloaded can be dl again quickly and installs are obviously quick.
Its a non issue
He said they are using 12 channel interface, then showed this slide. It implies 12 flash dies. What exactly did Cerny say?

I barely remember it from back in the day... But I've just seen the gif in the actual proper thread. That was the same "gentleman" that at the start of last gen thought the human eye couldn't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, so... yeah. It's like these outlets go out of their way to find the least technical people that come to the job interview to be their mouthpieces.

I think he does understand it in some way, it's just he and others just want to blindly follow a certain narrative to excuse the bad decisions their favourite brand makes. Just look at this, how their opinions shifted when they can no longer make excuses:Is that the dude from Die hard 1, the slime ball dude that tried to make some kind of deal with criminals?
But sad indeed that there are so many incompetent people working on gaming related media.
Kind of miracle in fact, that someone can work on the area without gaining enough knowledge to understand stuff, when even amateurs can easily do it just by being curious.

All I need is to be able to suspend at least 3 games(1 for me, 2 for my kid).at the same time and I'm done.I don't need or care about that feature. It would require more storage space be reserved by the OS. No thanks.
I will never need to quickly swap between 3 games in a few seconds. Useless. I play 1 game then stop, play another.
If PS5 games can boot in 2 seconds directly into gameplay from the OS (as they have said it can) then thats all I need.
Its not a smartphone.
