I was expecting around 700 GB. If its 664 GB, then they must using a lot of the SSD for the auto screen recording in full 4K. Kinda stupid if they need to use over 150 GB for the OS. PS4 Pro only used 130 GB.

Os is 100 gb. Ps5 has 768 gb of storage. You never get a full 850 vb or 1 terabyte of storage.

But yes, it's ridiculous that both dialed have such a large os footprint. Windows takes 11 gb. And yet here we are with a console os taking 10 times that. Share feature is great but let me allocate the damn space for it.

PS5 is 768 GiB which is 825GB. You are mixing your gigabytes and gibibytes.

Nah the PS4/5 system shows GB not GiB. The 664 GB is not 664 GiB. Same with my PS4 Pro is 872 GB, not 872 GiB. Thats why the PS5 says 825 GB not 768 GiB. Same with game file sizes, etc.

825-664=161 GB
768-618=150 GiB

It may not be 768 gb but ssds or hdds for that matter never come with advertised GBs.

If you have a pc at home, you can see Ray your ssd doesn't come with the exact amount they advertised.

This is a very bad take.

Devaluing SSD is silly. It may not improve things graphically but it improves longevity and increases overall speeds which, personally, matters more than some more pixels and slightly better graphics.

yup this. My PS4 does the same thing. Just did a cold boot, took 35 seconds to get to the home screen from when I hit the PS button on the controller.

How many more Tflops do you want? 10.3 Tflops from 1.8 Tflops is already gigantic leap from old generation. Increasing more Tflops will only result in diminishing returns rather than improving on I/O, Cerny is not stupid, trust him, that dude is in gaming industry for god knows how long. 30 fucking years, its the same as my age.
