I had a naked iPhone 4 for over 2 years.. Not a single scratch on the back. Dropped it a couple of times over that period, too.

I'm reading that it's not the actual glass that is scratched, but the oleophobic coating that is prone/sensitive?

People who upload shaky low res videos should be banned from the internet forever. Might look good, might look tacky, that video doesn't help show. The top of the bumper doesn't seem to fit snug to the top of the phone though.

Yeah, I read the same thing.. either way, the pictures I've seen are frightening.

Still wondering just how widespread it is though. Is it a defect on all/most units? A handful? I think we'll have a greater pool of users after today so we'll see what happens over the weekend.

Call me crazy but i LOVE the rubber backing on the Nexus 7 and wish I could have a phone with that on it as well. Durable, grippy, feels amazing, and scratch proof.

Same here. On the other hand the plastic on the back of 3GS got scratched to hell after just few months of use, and so did the chrome on the back of the old Ipod Touch. Iphone 4 is probably the only device I've used daily that looks identical to what it did the day I bought it.

You can do it online, you will need to order a sim card though. Otherwise you can go to walmart and buy a cheap phone with the sim card and $30 plan.

After you get a sim card, you can go here to activate your phone/sim and choose the $30 plan.

That case is pretty nice looking, and the price is right. Unfortunately you lose the little pattern on the back, but if its going to get scratched up anyway I guess it doesn't matter

You're screwed, and you should get a phone within three weeks from the backorder email. I'm in the exact same boat. I have seen reports of a few people that have received the backorder email get a shipping notice, but is seems like most phones shipping out are to people without backorder emails. Hope I'm wrong.

Enable wifi calling...? Do you have wifi at your house? It'll still use minutes but it should give you a better connection at least if it's that bad at your house.

Does the Nexus 4 have the slight delay in shutting off/on the screen thanks to 4.2 that my GNex is having?

I don't have any delay, seems pretty instant (except it does that CRT shut-off animation but the GNex did that too). The Face Unlock seems quicker than GNex.

Hmm, the bumper looks good from the videos, but I wished it had the exact same material that is on the side of the phone.

My replacement phone order has also changed to 'pending' now in the Play Store history page as has my bumper itself which I should have had by today. Looks like they are just getting rid of those tremendously inaccurate shipping estimates.
