Typically, people don't really look for root exploits in devices or make guides when they have a handset that can be unlocked and rooted easily via other means.I've yet to see any real benefit to rooting so I'm just running stock for now. That post saying certain apps dont work on rooted devices didnt help...
SMS Backup & Restore and Titanium Backup
Is it possible to buy a N4 from the Google store and then use it to activate the T-Mo $30/mo 100 minutes + text/data prepaid plan? It seems like trying to get that plan on the website forces you to buy a phone from their store first instead of just a sim card.
Yeah, same exact phone T Mobile is offering. The N4 is unlocked so might as well give it a shot.
How long does it realistically take before Google Now makes itself useful? Doesn't seem to do anything for me as of now except tell me what restaurants are nearby.

So wait, LTE works?
Still pending......
I'm sure the UK store is operating on a 'last come, first served' basis. I keep seeing stories of people ordering with a 6-7 week estimate then getting it two days later.
Not that I'm impatient or anything..... But I do want it right now.
Most likely. The life cycle of the nexus phones are a bout a year and a half apart, give or take.Still got 1 year left on my current plan. Will they still be selling this phone a year from now?

The date on the status page keeps changing it went from November 27th to December 7th. What does this mean? Is this the shipping date? Has this happened to anyone else?
It's been much closer to a year.
Buy your phone. Then buy a micro sim activation kit.

Still not a fan of the screen. My S3 screen is much more vibrant and colorful.
Take it on vacation and you'll be amazed. How long does it realistically take before Google Now makes itself useful? Doesn't seem to do anything for me as of now except tell me what restaurants are nearby.
Any Canadians who ordered last Monday get it yet?

Is the screen fairly scratch resistant? After hearing how slippery it is I'm going to get a case, but I'm wondering if I should just go all out or just a back cover.

Nope. My order status hasn't changed at all since then. Still says pending.
I just ordered the diztronic translucent tpu case for the phone. Not going to lie I like showing off that Nexus logo. What cases are you guys using?
I'm not getting a dramatic change in battery life with Matr1x like I hoped. Any idea why my battery stats shows my "phone" having "keep awake 2h 30m" on it?
