Anyone else having touch screen problems? It won't respond sometimes and I have to hit the key a few times for it respond.
Edit: It took me awhile to type that last thing. I had to turn the screen off and on to fix it. Wonder if it's a software bug.

I've had similar happen with the Vita when my finger was wet. Shut down, restart, and it was fine, maybe it was something similar to that?

I thought that, made sure my fingers were extra dry, and still messed up. Next I used a different keyboard since I use SwiftKey 3, nope still messed up. Then I just turned the screen off and then on and it was fixed. I had the screen on for awhile maybe a hour before it flipped out.

Boy that doesn't sound good.

I would guess your unit is defective.

I received confirmation yesterday, the 14th that my Nexus 7 was being shipped. So, I go to check the tracking number and notice it says the item was billed/shipped on the 12th. So, I'm wondering if many people simply aren't being notified. Also, this is 2 Day Air and it is now the 15th and I still see no indication or update on ups website as to where the nexus is. I'm hoping this is normal with air delivery but, I would assume the package would be scanned by ups when it was picked up or put on the plane. Maybe google is just printing shipping labels at the warehouse but, not actually boxing up some of the orders at that moment. Label made on Thursday but, shipped on Friday meaning my N7 won't arrive til Tuesday :(

Well, like I noted mine simply was not working right until I did a full shut down, so turning off the screen sounds like a similar situation anyway (going to sleep then coming out I assume).

Pfft you must not read in bed, or you hate your arms.
I can lay in bed just fine with my iPad. I rest it on a pillow on my chest. It's great.

Or maybe he likes his eyes more than you like your arms. :p
Yeah. I don't know how much of a difference a 7" would be from my 5" Note. I'd have to hold both at the same time to compare.

Same deal here. Mine was even shipped/billed on the 9th.

Does not compute. I read comics on it all the time and the 10" screen is far better than my friend's 7" screen. In fact I'm in bed now on it and it is shaking its head.

just what this thread needs, more ipad owners who feel the need to justify their purchase by trying to trash the n7

7" screen is a much more ideal device for portability and just using for extended periods. The ipad is too heavy and hot for me to use regularly for comics.

On my Gnex this creates a tonne of animation stutter. Love to see what the N7 makes of it though

For me it isn't the size, but the weight. I can use my iPad for reading in a lot of situations, but laying in bed holding it up tires me out quickly. I haven't held a Nexus 7 yet, so I'm not sure how much more I'd like it, but I assume with the decrease in size becomes a reasonable decrease in weight. I'm to the point where I actually do more reading on my phone than anything else because I can hold it comfortably with one hand while laying on my back or on my side.

Totally inconsequential question, does a shortcut to the manual for the N7 from the play store come pre loaded on the homescreen?

Can anyone explain why there's hype for this Android tablet ?

To me its getting state of the art performance at a subsidized price of $199, without any compromises. For example I didnt buy the kindle fire because of no GPS (and no camera also right?)

I can now afford 2 of these, one for me one for the wife within my budget of around $500 which, before this tablet, meant only one (Asus 10 inch one for $399) which we would have to share.

what is this doing?

Just played with it on my GNex. Seems to speed up the new window transitions a lot (likely 2x). It's definitely faster, but some of the cool window transitions added by Project Butter in JB don't show up properly...most notably the window "growing" out of the recent apps list seems to not play at all sometimes, now.

EDIT: I take it back--seems to be working fine now, not sure if I was just imagining things before. They play, but it's so fast you can't even tell sometimes.

Or if you use Nova Launcher, you could set everything to fast speeds

I just did this on my Nex too. Do like. All it seems to do is hasten the little transition animations, but that itself is pretty awesome.

So what games do you all like? An good trading card games?

There are some good games that take advantage of the Tegra 3. Zen Pinball looks great, so does Dead Ringer. Nvidia has an app that just points out Tegra optimized games, that's worth a look.

So has there been any postings about bad pixels? $199 is a crazy low price point, so I hope they don't sacrifice screen bad-pixel tolerance.

Is there anyway to get texts on my phone sent to this, and receive texts, even if I don't have an android phone?

There are probably some applications that can do this, although, easiest way will most likely be with Google Voice. You can either set up a secondary number for free, or merge (For a cost) your existing email to a Google Voice account.

There are a few screen caps of Walking Dead a few pages back. Most people have reported that it's great for reading comics.

Can't wait to get this in tomorrow. My first droid product so I'm really jazzed to see the differences to iOS
