Cool. Thankfully there is no team with both a good running game and a good quarterback tis year. So far, the Packers have beaten the third best quarterback in football and the best running back in football. They have beaten a great defense and dynamic unknown rookies.

There is no mythical complete team for the Packers to beat. They don't exist. The Packers are built pretty perfectly to win football games in the 2011 NFL. If they had Nick Collins I'd say they would potentially be historically good. As it is, they are good enough for this year. 14-2 is gonna feel gooooood.

That's the rub. There is a blueprint to rifle off games in the GFL. High scoring offense, defense a step behind. the Saints did it and won the Super Bowl. the Patriots did it and only lost two games last season. the Packers are doing it now.

It's not about them facing a "complete" team. It's about a team slowing down the offense enough. that is how the Cowboys defeated the Saints, that is how the Jets beat the Pats, and that is how "X" team will beat the Pack. Only question is when (or if) that happens.

The difference I see in the Packers is that 1. the Packers skill players are far superior to the Patriots and 2. It depends on Rodgers making mistakes.

Obviously the Packers can be beat. They are 8-0 but it feels like they could just as easily be 2-6. Every game is close. They need the best player in football to continue to be the best player in football. Long as he does that this season is gravy!

That said, the Lions is filthy good in the non-skill spots. That's how they beat the Packers last year. They absolutely dominated in the trenches and the Packers have gotten worse in that aspect of the game. It'll be a tough as hell matchup for Green Bay.

Russell Wilson is the best QB in the draft. Only racists think Luck is better.

I wonder if he'll start to develop a throwing motion where he jumps when he throws it, since he's a fucking midget.

Maybe he'll be a good slot receiver in the NFL.

I'm pretty sure the Browns are the worst team in the NFL but because we beat 3 other shitty teams we won't get Luck. Down three running backs and two starting o-lineman, completely unwatchable.
I feel bad for Colt, he's got no o-line, no running game, no wide receivers or tight ends.

Word? When did you beat Foster?

But seriously, that Steelers game where we won was some of the most complete football we've played all year. Makes me warm to think of it.

We get Manning back after the bye week, but apparently Andre had a setback with his hamstring at the beginning of last week: http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/219148/andre-johnson-had-a-setback-last-monday

I don't think he plays against the Bucs.

The only game I truly regret is the Ravens game. We could have won that game if Kubiak didn't suck so much.

Ugh. Poor Rams GAF. Not only losing the game but yet another receiver. Can Clayton play the slot? Because otherwise the team seems awfully close to needing SJax there.

It will be Pettis, who they took in third. But it doesn't matter since there's no QB.

When his first WR is covered, he panics. He has no pocket awareness and can't play with pressure. Maybe it was all the sacks and he can be coached up if they bring in a new regime. But that would be 3 systems in 3 years, with the constants being bad offense and bad QB play.

Niners will beat the packers if we get our shot. I guarantee it!

I'll buy that. With the exception of Moss, the Pats were doing it with players that would be invisible on any other team in the league. And I think that's what's biting them in the ass now and why they've lost two in a row for the first time in forever.

I can't stand the Eagles but I'm not stupid enough to count them out. Too much talent and as much as you Eagles fans love to hate Reid, he gets his team playing well in the second half.

Eagles are not going to win the division, Giants won that yesterday, and the Eagles wont win the WC the way things are setup this year. Lions have one spot wrapped up, and whoever doesnt win the south out of the Falcons and Saints will get the other WC.

I've only seen one Lions game (vs ATL) but it really seems like Stafford only has completions of greater than 10 yards because he's throwing Jump balls to Megatron. If Jahvid Best isn't ready for that game it's a blowout.

No one else would likely generate more than lukewarm interest – not even perennial Pro Bowl tight end Antonio Gates(notes), who despite a good game against Green Bay’s struggling secondary (eight catches, 96 yards, one TD) appears to be 31 going on 50, his ability to achieve separation curtailed by a persistent foot injury and some extra pounds.

“It’s harsh to say, but he looks old and fat,” one Chargers source said of Gates. “He’s not beating people. We don’t have any speed, we’re soft on defense, and we put so much on our quarterback. When he was playing great, we could kind of get away with it. Now he’s not playing very well, and it’s all falling apart.”

No. If the Browns played the Rams or the Colts, the two best players on the field would be Haden and Thomas.

You just have a shit coach/GM/QB

Good thing we play the Rams this week. I guess we will see how bad we really are.

I can't see it happening but that would be so funny if it did.

The only way I see you guys winning is if you KOed Rodgers early in the game.

I'm not so sure about that. Lions have a tough schedule down the stretch. Their implosion begins next week at Chicago.

I am going to enjoy the show you put on when the Packers get eliminated.

If they get beat they get beat. I'm not claiming that they are some unstoppable force, but in a down year they are the best out there.

Browns got away with alot last season because of how well Hillis and the run blocking played. Colt had his moments, but he's still as inconsistent as ever. Has Holgren or Heckert made any commitment to him for the future?

The pass rush was lacking against Washington and I'm not sure if it's because Jean-Francois was playing or just the lack of any blitzes.
Doomsayer said:
I don't remember seeing any more than a four man rush this game, I would like to see more pressure packages.
Have you not being paying attention this season? SF has rarely sent more than 4 rushers all year because they've been very effective doing so. They got several pressures yesterday, Washington just got rid of the ball fast enough. I wouldn't necessarily be calling for more blitzed just for the sake of it if sending 4 is usually enough.

Cushing is beciming a throwback. Lance Z's dad stated a couple weeks ago that the Steelrers RB coach said he is the best ILB in the game right now. GUy is just a damn animal!

Are the Bears going to bring in a new OC before the game? Going 5 wide and letting the Lions get free shots on Cutler didnt work very well earlier this year, I dont see it working any better next week.

I disagree the Saints didnt have the best overall defense but they had one of the best defenses with regards to takeaways.

I think Bradford has led the team to 3 TDs all year. Colt can't be much better. Both guys are total wusses who check down and throw low and away to avoid INTs. Can't see more than 25 pts total.

But we already know now what we'll know after the game. Both teams need a new QB and a new coach to ever do anything in the future. Guess Rams fans can still delude themselves more credibly than Browns fans, but that's just based on draft position and division strength

It's easy to get takeaways when you force your opponent into perpetual catch up.

That's the thing: Int's are the consistent variable between all three teams. More balls in the air - more chances for interceptions.

I can only remember the NCSU Wilson. I'll never think he's good.

Carl Banks is on WFAN just /KILLING/ Ochocinco. Straight up called him a scrub and laughed at Michael Coe getting in his face, talking trash and keeping him in check. Ouch.

People always fall for the same damn mistake. Rookie quarterback debuts, teams show him simple looks and reads, he completes simple throws and people say "Is he good? He's good." 2nd year when teams have tape and tendencies Quarterback has a poor season - "I thought he was good?"

Glad the Cowboys won, to bad it wasnt a convinving win. Our Rush D looked like shit once again. We need Sean Lee back!!!! Brookings is looking older and older each day. Hopefully we can win the next 4 games (including the Bills) and we should be in better shape to face teams like NYG and Philly again.

He also isnt on steroids anymore. No, seriously!

He had a couple decent games but that was only when Hillis was beasting. As Hillis's production declined so did Colt's performance. He has a pretty weak arm and is definitely rattled this season because our o-line and running game sucks. Actually our whole offense is horrible from the play of all the players down to play calling and coaching.
