very true. i said a few weeks back that i wouldn't be surprised if the giants missed the playoffs and i wouldn't be surprised if the team won the superbowl. they are just a baffling team

I think there's some Joe Buck/Troy Aikman voodoo curse on the NFC Least teams -- they're all horribly inconsistent and an absolute chore to watch yet because of those two fucktwats and ESPN, this country has to suffer week in and week out by watching their tremendous display of "football" when other better teams are playing at the same time.

We had our shot and missed, might as well look toward continuing the momentum next season after a solid draft and good FA period

Maurice, you're being pathetic. Scrote up and try and have some faith in your team. We've seen the Saints blow games all the fucking time all last year, and they're very capable of losing to the Lions.

The Giants would run all over us and dominate the clock, come on.
You do realize the Giants are the 32nd ranked run team in the league, right? We haven't "run all over and dominated the clock" on anyone. I certainly think we'd have success on the ground considering how bad the Lions are in run defense, and I'd love nothing more than to see that type of ball control offense (ah memories of 2008) but considering the way your secondary has looked lately, Gilbride would be licking his lips too much to run it.

Best QB you've ever had. Which is kind of sad.

The fucking apathy from my fellow Lions "fans" is disgusting

There are differences between being a hater, apathetic as you put it, a chump, and a realist. Fanhood is more than blindly believing the team will succeed at everything regardless of the circumstances. People have the right to be concerned about New Orleans as it's a team that already beat us, has more playoff experience, and has yet to lose in their home stadium. Do you expect everybody to act as though we should be the favorites in a game like that? Did you see what MATT FLYNN just did to this secondary?

I'm not completely counting the Lions out of the game before they even play it, I've learned that much this year. They have their chance, but if pressed for a prediction the on-field evidence we have over the course of the season pretty well speaks for itself.

The idiot who made the thread forgot to put what day the games are. smh

Whoops. Thought they were all Snday for some silly reason

fuck why does football season always go by so fast
This seasons been a bit of a bore and unfortunately won't mean anything unless the Packers win the Super Bowl again. *sigh*

First week of the season I absolutely missed. Looks like the best thing was to see how well Flynn did. Goddamn.

What's the best wildcard game? Lions/Saints imo. Should be a high scoring game.

Yep, them Steelers (and you can add the Ravens here as well) sure have performed those amazing displays of "football" week in and week out consistently. Reality: Outside of a select few, the league is full of teams (even the ones with the good records) that play terribly inconsistent and sometimes downright BAD football. Even worse, in games against teams they should absolutely dominate.

saints/lions should be entertaining. i'm expecting a replay of the lions/packers game since, as in that game, both defenses are god awful.

it might even be MORE high scoring though since this is in the dome!

Apathy means lack of enthusiasm, not hate. But everyone calling the game a wash already is a fucking joke. The reason we are posting on this forum in this thred is because we are fans. Start acting like it instead of packing things up and thinking about the future. More time to think about all of that after Detroit ends their season (probably holding the Lombardi).

Now we wait for all the lies of free agency and the draft. This Flynn thing throws a wrench in to the RG3 sweepstakes. Why give the Rams multiple picks when you can sign Flynn?

Rams will fire everyone tomorrow. Don't know why they are making him wait but whatever

So pumped the Rams aren't the worst team in the league. I hope Bradford, T Jack, and Skelton/Kolb all come back next year. Change is bad!

Oh definitely. That game will have an extreme lack of defense, and a lot of passing TD's.

Also, Spagnuolo and Devaney are gone.

You're 9-7 and the Cowboys are 8-8 yet had a chance to go to the playoffs. That's inconsistent and some of the times bad football.

The Steelers have lost 4 games, two of them being just poor performances, one of them simply being outperformed, and another by sheer luck. If you have a record of 11+wins, that's not bad football and rarely inconsistent football. That's a good football team, simple as that.

They were though, because unlike the Colts, the Rams tried to win ball games. The Colts really had to go balls to the wall to suck so good.

I think we're on the same page in general, but little add-ons like this are what get you into trouble. :P

If you want the team to hoist the Lombardi, part of that process requires the ability to look at your own team with a critical eye and figure out what strengths to focus on and what needs fixing, based on the evidence that they put on the field every week. Looking at the last 17 weeks, can you objectively state that the Lions "probably" should win the Super Bowl this year, when they've lost to every single team in front of them? Again, I'm not saying it's impossible, we've seen teams with problems go on a late run and make it to the big dance, but I can't realistically call it my expectation, having seen what I've seen of the 2011 Lions.

To some, attacking the weaknesses of a team IS how they express their enthusiasm for it. Fans of every team have the same goal, we don't all get there the same way.
P.S. Don't tell fans how to be fans.

Indeed, I phrased that poorly. "So pumped the Rams aren't drafting first in the draft!" If the Rams hire a decent coach and GM, though, Bradford will be kicked out in no time. That kid can't play. The sooner the Rams realize it, the worse it is for the Niners, so I hope they keep their blinders on.

Much like the actual team, I've taken the past 3 weeks off since we've had the playoffs locked up. It's go time now, though.

Bring it Bungles!

Also... #37? Really Buckethead? That pic is from 2009.

I don't disagree with you on that but I think there's room to look at the quality of those wins in terms of how said team performed (were you ecstatic about the consistency or your team against the Colts and was THAT worth national television time since your bitching about the East getting exposure?) and the schedule is worth taking into account.

Yeah this bugs me. Rams are so much worse than the Colts. They get rid of Caldwell and get Luck and go back to dominating their division by 2014. Rams have like 4 players to build on, and the best case that can be made for Bradford is that he costs so much money, you are stuck with him.

Ah. Cool

All I know is that I'm proud of most of our wins against good teams, particularly the Pats and the Bengals. We seemed to have had the Ravens figured out too until Flacco got lucky.

hey! bradford is a true franchise qb! he got his balls washed by the media for the past year that it must be true!

Meh, never told anyone how to be fans. Just said I was disgusted with how fans were behaving. And I know this teams weaknesses better than probably anyone on this board. I also pay closer attention to the games than most people in this thread. But I'm not going to come into this thread admitting defeat from the start, bro. Long shot to win the Superbowl, much less getting out of the Wildcard, but those are the match ups. I'll admit defeat if Detroit loses, but until then I will keep up this spirited trash talk and cheering.

and regarding losing to the Saints earlier this year.....

REVENGE TOUR 2012 BITCHES

"The story of the year: Victor Cruz was asked what his "realistic goal" was coming into the season: "A realistic goal was just to get a catch in a real game that mattered, in a real game that counted," he said. ... He finished the regular season with 82 catches for a Giants' single-season record of 1,536 yards and nine touchdowns, including five longer than 65 yards. ... "It's been a rollercoaster for me," he said. ... Indeed."

That's cool. I'm proud that the Giants are in the playoffs and have a chance to play at home despite a down year for the division and terribly inconsistent play throughout the year. The season is over, the playoffs have begun. Now we get to see who's really consistent and worth watching and who were the actual pretenders.

I'm not saying he'll turn out good . . . but I will remember these posts of yours if he does

i talked shit about him all of last year while everyone was sucking his dick and sure enough i was right.

i'll pose to you the samething i did to one dmczaf regarding raheem morris: if the rams ever make the playoffs with bradford at qb i will eat crow and admit i know nothing about football.

but, much like with my guarantee to dm, i doubt i'll ever have to be saying those things :D
