Greg is nice and happy because of all the great metal he listens to.
German Power Metal!

There is a lot of tension here lately, lots of anger, I'll admit, sometimes even I respond a little feisty.
Let's all be more like Greg, he's always nice and happy. #GREG2012
Also, here's a happy Dutch song for you people : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZkbhA1NcTM
People can only care so much when the Dolphins are on their bye week, you know? It'll pick up next weekend I'm sure.Screw that this place needs all the tension it can handle!
In fact I say more tension!
Brady will make more money modelling through the next decades than Gisele. NFL HOFer, male supermodel, and a moral guiding light.

I thought Germans listened to 99 red ballons.

The last girl I met called me "deceiving" because she wouldn't guess in a million years the kinds of music I listened to because I'm so happy.Greg is nice and happy because of all the great metal he listens to.
:jncYes, I once clicked on a link by Greg that said something like 'Exotic Petting Zoo'. There were no cute furry animals being petted in that video

I laughed.and then killed her.
Hmmmm....which jersey to bring to Houston? Eric Turner throwback Ravens, Tony Siragusa, or my Sam Koch jersey tee. I'm leaning towards Koch.

The answer usually is "throwback".
LOL, the spoiler got me good. The last girl I met called me "deceiving" because she wouldn't guess in a million years the kinds of music I listened to because I'm so happy.

I call it throwback, but really it's just old and ugly. But who else will be rocking the Eric Turner jersey? Nobody.
How metal is Greg?
Maybe I should bust out My David Carr Jersey. Those were the days. Got to relive a little bit last Sunday Night.
He's white and nice, so he's very metal.
Metal is one of the most fascinating subcultures, IMO, if only because the facade is so different from the actual people.
My favorite band is the Gorillaz.
For some reason that weirds some people out.
What are talking about here?
Blind Guardian?Gamma ray? Helloween?
Maybe some heavier shit like Kreator, Destruction, Sodom.?
or some old school Scorpions...
Not that I know what any of that is. No sir.
death, thrash, doom, black, all the sub-genres like melodic/technical/brutal/core/etc. - I like them allHow metal is Greg?
truth.LOL, the spoiler got me good.
I listen to a lot of metal and I consider myself a pretty happy person. I definitely don't look like your stereotypical metalhead either. I don't know what it is but sometimes nothing seems to soothe me quite like some wonderfully executed death metal.
Oh, my metal days are mostly behind me. The stuff that I still keep coming back to are Metallica, Pantera and the Painkiller album. I never cared much about German metal bands, except if you count Rammstein.
And yes, I do like the Scorpions. They have some great guitar work.
Cool Man.

That attitude is why I stay out of the metal thread. Way too much elitism, and ironically you know more about the genre and its sub-genres than 99% of the people in that thread. Maybe it's just a few people, I'm not sure, but it was enough to turn me off to it.death, thrash, doom, black, all the sub-genres like melodic/technical/brutal/core/etc. - I like them all
although I also listen to pop, hip-hop, rock, classical, electronic, etc., so I'm not really a fan of metal according to some.
Dethklok is the greatest metal band in the history of existence.

At the end of the day it really comes down to one thing --- how many Swedish churches have you burned down? This is the only meaningful metric, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a spawn of God.
:jnc
It's disappointing to see so much misinformation when you see random metal threads pop up on GAF and there's a lot of "HOW CAN YOU ENJOY THIS MUSIC" and "IT ALL SOUNDS THE SAME", but it's also not surprising considering how there are a lot of elitist assholes that give it a bad rep.
Metal isn't entertainment, dude, it's a lifestyle. If you aren't bathing in goat blood at least once a week you're doing it wrong. It's understandable. You got the people who can't stand metal, and those that can't stand anything that isn't. Personally I have no problem going back and forth between Metal and say Pop music. It's all just there for me to enjoy...

I think my main problem is that the people who can't stand metal are offered suggestions by the people who can't stand anything that isn't metal. Their suggestions are usually something obscure, which then feeds back to the image of how limited metal is. And then you have the people that seem genuinely interested in adding to the conversation by saying "I like metal. I listen to..." and everyone jumps on them saying it's not "real" metal. It's understandable. You got the people who can't stand metal, and those that can't stand anything that isn't. Personally I have no problem going back and forth between Metal and say Pop music. It's all just there for me to enjoy...
