NFL 2013 Preseason/Training Camp thread - Doritos Locos

Are we doing the final 53 man projections as of yet? I'm pretty confident in doing the Giants so I'll post it now and adjust after the fourth game. Though I don't see it changing much.

Offense:

(S) = Starter

QB: (3) Eli Manning (S), Curtis Painter, Ryan Nassib
RB: (3) David Wilson (S), Andre Brown, Michael Cox
FB: (1) Henry Hynoski (S) (Bear Pascoe filling in for now until he's healthy)
TE: (4) Brandon Myers (S), Bear Pascoe, Adrien Robinson, Larry Donnell
OL: (9) Will Beatty (S) (LT), Kevin Boothe (S) (LG), David Baas (S) (C), Chris Snee (S) (RG), Justin Pugh (S) (RT) ------- James Brewer (G/T), Brandon Mosely (G), Jim Cordle (C), David Diehl (G/T)
WR: (5) Hakeem Nicks (S), Victor Cruz (S), Reuben Randle, Louis Murphy, Jerrel Jernigan

Defense:

DT: (5) Linval Joseph (S), Cullen Jenkins (S), Shaun Rogers, Johnathan Hankins, Mike Patterson
DE: (5) Jason Pierre Paul (S), Justin Tuck (S), Mathias Kiwanuka, Demontre Moore, Adrian Tracy
LB: (6) Dan Connor (S), Spencer Paysinger (S), Keith Rivers (S), Mark Herzlich, Jacquian Williams, Kyle Bosworth
CB: (5) Corey Webster (S), Prince Amukamara (S), Terrell Thomas, Jayron Hosely, Aaron Ross
S: (4) Antrel Rolle (S), Ryan Mundy (S), Tyler Sash, Will Hill (suspended first four games) (5th round pick Cooper Taylor to IR)

Special Teams: (3)

Kicker: Josh Brown
Punter: Steve Weatherford
Long Snapper: Zak DeOssie

----------------------------------------------------------

There's a possibility we might dump Larry Donnell (TE) or an offensive lineman (doubtful, IMO) if they'd prefer to carry either a 6th WR or a 6th DE like Adewale Ojomo who's flashed from time to time. Though they may decide to try and sneak him into the practice squad.

Any opinions on my fantasy draft?

12 team league, standard scoring stuff on ESPN:

QB - Colin Kaepernick
RB - Alfred Morris
RB - Andrew Brown
RB/WR - Greg Jennings
WR - Larry Fitzgerald
WR - James Jones
TE - Vernon Davis
D/ST - Seahawks
K - Matt Bryant

Bench
-----------
Joe Flacco - QB
Shonn Greene - RB
Santana Moss - WR
Darrius Heyward-Bey - WR
Fred Davis - TE
Kendall Hunter - RB
Justin Hunter - WR
QB is real deep this year. There is no reason to waste a first round pick on a QB. And if you were planning to pick a QB early, why not Rodgers, Brees, or Peyton?

Your WRs are weak especially Fitz. He isn't a top 5 wide out with Cardinals terrible OL and Palmer throwing him the ball. And bad idea reaching that far for Vernon Davis, Seahawks defense, and your kicker.

It is hard to be successful in fantasy football without a good stable running backs. You lack depth badly. Andre Brown will split carries with David Wilson. You basically only have one starting RB.

I don't see this team making playoffs unless you make some trades for a RB, and upgrading your WR core via waivers.

I did one for the Raiders a few days ago.

QB Flynn/Pryor/Wilson
RB DMC/Jennings/Murray
FB Reece
WR Streater/Butler/Moore/Ford/Criner
TE Ausberry/Mastrud/Rivera/Kasa
OT Watson/Barnes/Barron
OG Nix/Brisiel/Bergstrom
C Wiz/Gurode

DE Houston/Carter/Hunter/Crawford/Bass
DT Walker/Sims/Bilukidi/McGee
LB Moore/Kevin B/Roach/Kailen B/Gaither/Thomas/Maiava
CB Hayden/Jenkins/Adams/Porter/Chekwa/Jones
S Woodson/Branch/Young/Ross

ST Jano/King/Condo

IR Veldheer/Burris

PS Jenkins/McGloin/Boyko/Robinson/Casey/Nelms/Vernon/Olawale

Suspended 4 games - Andre Holmes

Ex-Giants update:

:( :(

I had a Staph/MRSA infection in my leg earlier this year and that is some nasty shit. Two months of antibiotics and weekly trips to a specialist. Not to mention having to bandage a gaping hole in my leg twice a day for weeks until it finally drained. Don't wish it on anyone.

I've never understood why people post their fantasy football line ups in here.

Is that fantasy thread still around?

I didn't see one so but Eznark said it's ok to post here.

back to Stafford though, for Lions-GAF...

No Calvin, No Clue?

I may sound like I’m repeating myself, but it is only preseason. You’d still like to see more out of Matthew Stafford (-3.6) who was the lowest-graded player on the Lions’ game-day roster. Why? Well, once again it was a collection of errant throws, and while the 12 completions for 166 yards may look impressive, only 17 of those yards came in the air, with the rest after the catch.

In fact, though he attempted seven balls over 10 yards in the air, he didn’t complete any of them. Getting Johnson back will help, and he was working without Ryan Broyles, but it was far from convincing.

It just baffles me, in part due to how much Stafford worked in the offseason; he was at the practice facility all winter and spring. But while Joquie Bell, who was also practicing all winter/spring, has shown a lot of progress Stafford seems to be devolving. Maybe the best thing for the Lions would be a losing season, so we can get rid of Schwartz/staff and bring someone in who can work on Stafford's mechanics.

Commissioner chuckddd has said this thread also acts as a FF thread, so deal with it. It's just one week. And at least it is football related. Think about all the non-football crap in this thread. How is fantasy football so intolerable?

Feel bad for CJ and those that drafted him. Stacked boxes behind a so-so OL. Good luck.

Didn't lose anyone in the OL, did they? He had a pretty good season last year.

This. I laughed when people complained considering it's ten times more football related than over half the shit discussed this off-season.

My guess is he has seen 8 in the box since he last great QB was Ryan Fitzpatrick. No chance he averages the same YPC but with far more touches he will get his.

Like LJ before me I've given up on the FF complaining. I other utterly meaningless shit to worry about like the Packers running game and who the backup QB is going to be.

By that logic, I've never understood why people talk about video games and TV shows and all the other non-NFL stuff in this thread.

Yeah but that mostly during the offseason and lessens when TC starts. regular season you get spots but nothing major.

Discuss FF during the offseason all you like.

Person before me took Shady so I grabbed Spiller but I am really worried about him. Hopefully EJ will be as good as I think he will and that will open things up.

He ran well last year with just Fitzpatrick and Stevie Johnson, so I think he should be fine barring injury. Hearing a good buzz about Robert Woods as well. Might want to handcuff him with Fred Jackson if you can, but he might be a high value handcuff.

They lost Levitre, LG is fucking garbage right now and they have zero depth on OL.

I understand what you're saying Tom Penny, but Gailey spread to run the ball, it's the opposite with Marrone & Co so far. They're using a fullback on a lot of plays when they run, which stacks the box even more. Bills were in 11 personnel all game long under Gailey.

We'll see, he will touch the ball an awful lot, but the gun run game is fucking ugly as sin. Gailey did a great job running from the gun, haven't seen it in preseason so far with this group.

Someone in our league drafted Fred Jackson. I figured I would grab him off waivers after the draft but no dice.
