I wonder if LeBeau is around next year. Dude is not human. He is like 200 years old and looks like he is in better shape than 95% of GAF.

No one is going to miss Haley. I can't see him being here next year but then that begs the question of who we bring in? You can bring in Bill fucking Walsh but even he can't just manufacture a run game when the line sucks (and for much of that time the backs). Interested to see what direction ownership and the GM go in.

You guys think I am trolling, but I really think Ray Horton will be the HC next year after Tomlin and Haley get fired, while LeBeau steps back or resigns

Tomlin's not going anywhere. If Horton had a snowball's chance in hell of being the Steelers HC they would never have let him leave the Burgh. He was let go because he was the secondary coach here and all of the backs were giving 10 yard cushions and soft zones. DBs couldn't stop a toilet. Tomlin hires Carnell Lake and instantly there's a massive improvement.

Not to shit on Horton, but talent makes a huge difference, and both D's he worked with had a lot of young talent on them.

Steelers next DC meanwhile is already on staff:

Boley was horrible in 2012 and way worse as a person, and Jenkins is an upgrade over Canty. But the top 7 paid performers ... is a complete joke.
Yep, no argument there right now. Though, I'm about to put my accounting hat on (watch out Legendary!)

Chris Snee's contract:

Antrel Rolle:

Justin Tuck:

Kiwi:

Corey Webster:

David Baas:

Eli Manning:

Corey Webster, Justin Tuck, Antrel Rolle and Chris Snee are all completely cuttable next season (Tuck is an FA and won't be resigned). Baas and Kiwi aren't going anywhere as we save no money cutting them but 2015 is a different story all together. They can be cut loose, then.

Next year with the dead money added in we'd clear a good 10-12 million in cap space along with Tuck and David Diehl coming off of the books. Total of nearly 15-16 million in 2015 when Kiwi and Baas are off the books in 2015 (and I'm estimating here). Eli can be extended to free up cap space and get his overall number down as well. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of 1 year contracts we have players on right now.

i.e. cap issues are hurting us in the present but overblown in the near future for a team looking to reload/rebuild.

Steelers and Giants fans, why don't you go start the off-season thread and let those of with with relevant rooting interests discuss the 2013 season in peace.

There is no way they are firing Tomlin unless there is something seriously wrong with his personality that we don't know about.

Squicken said next head coach. That could be in 3 years or whatever..ect. Unless you believe the only way Tomlin is not a Steelers HC is if he retires

Pretty sure he said that he would be the new head coach NEXT year. And he was saying that Tomlin is getting fired at the end of the year.

Unless he meant something else. But he definitely said next year.

To answer an earlier question, hell yez I want Manziel. fuck Bridgewater and Braxton. Manziel got that spark, and is tough as nails. I want a homegrown boy, we already passed on one and that was...probably the right thing to do cause fuck you just winz!

Can't believe you guys lost to him twice at home in the playoffs.
Eli was pretty awesome in the big games before he lost his virginity.

Bengals have Texans disease. They get good and then realize that Oops! Dalton's a bum!
Lewis is also a crummy coach with zero balls.

The Bungles will let anyone, even a team as shitty as ours, hang around and beat them. You just have to be good enough to be able to accept their gifts.

i dont want case, hes a system qb. Id rather have that walk on fresman from Tech whos killing it right now.

And don't call Dalton a bum. Last year people were singing his praises for throwing it deep to AJGreen all the time, now they say hes not a good game manager. Lies. I saw him play in high school, and I knew hed be the nfl star he is today.

How would Steeler fans feel about David Shaw as a head coach? I feel like his attitude would fit perfectly with the organization.

Pitt Gm going to be at Rutgers/Louisville game tonight. (along with 27 other GMs/scouts).

Roffles is pretty salty about it.

I just want Case for the rest of the year, let him prove we can dump Yates, and then bring in someone next year.

Watched that CTE show finally. Just wow.
People need to know about the risks involved with playing football. Im sure a great many would still choose to play, just like people smoke knowing it can lead to lung cancer and other things, but at least it would be available knowledge. thats where the NFL went wrong.

What happened to Jake Matthews Future?
I know some want Clowney but I think if there's a great OT prospect there when they're picking, they have to consider him the most. I look at it this way, Beatty is, for better or worse depending on his play of late, the LT for the next several years. Pugh is an athletic player who can probably play anywhere on the line, but I'd push him into OG. Then you push Matthews or whoever at RT. They need to draft a young center sometime as well, Baas is gone after 2014.

There's no great ot prospects. But if I were the Giants Id definitely entertain a trade down to around 4 or 5 like the Rams did to pick up Matthews. Clowney's injury scares the shit out of me, and the Giants don't know how to handle injuries (that Barnwell article was kinda scary).
