NFL 2013 Week 8 |OT| - Hail To The Chiefs

Watching bits and pieces of the game tape from the Monday Night debacle (seriously I can't force myself to sit through even half of it). Mainly concentrating on how the defense played the run (I might throw some GIFs up later).

I wasn't high on the Beason trade when it happened but I have to admit he's been a nice addition for what we gave up. He's an actual NFL linebacker which is already a massive upgrade over the shitfest we're trotting out at the position. He's played well and he's already calling the defense on the field for us after two weeks with the team to boot.
I'm still in shock that during a game that was never really out of reach for either team, Minnesota ran AP 13 times to over 50 pass attempts for Freeman, who was starting earlier than he even should've.

There has not been, nor will there be, a worse called game this year.

That game was legit painful to watch. It looked in slow motion. It was incredible how shitty the product on the field was.

His contract voids after this season, so he's gonna be going all out to prove he still deserves starter money: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-york-giants/jon-beason/
I think it's likely he can be retained. I'm not under any assumption that he'll get a big deal anywhere, but they need to put some better bodies at LB. The way Reese went into this treating the LB's, OL, and other positions blew them back in the face. There should be more cash to use once some older vets are cut so hopefully something can be done.

Man, the Around the League podcast makes my week, hilarious stuff. Love these heroes!

Also, god damn at those UK games. Yeesh.

If we let things progress as they are, we should be going into the 2014 season with about 16 million in cap space and that's before we start doing anything on the veteran front and that's assuming the cap stays flat at 123 million.

http://overthecap.com/teamcap.php?Team=Giants&Year=2014

Cutting Chris Snee:

http://overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Chris Snee&Position=G&Team=Giants

Will net an addition 5.2 million in cap space (dead money will be split between the 2014/2015 season if he's a designated after June 1st cut)

Cutting Antrel Rolle:

http://overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Antrel Rolle&Position=S&Team=Giants

Is nearly 7 million in cap space with the same designation. Though we'll see if that happens or if they convert the money to bonus and add on additional voidable season or just outright extend him (doubtful)

They need to think about an extension on Eli as well to bring that 20 million cap hit down. Even without it, we're looking at nearly 30 million in cap space with just those two moves alone.

TAMPA, FL - A billboard appears to call for the firing of Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano.

The sign is located at the intersection of Bearss and Nebraska Avenues. It has the words "FIRE SCHIANO" in large letters against a fiery background. The billboard also contained a logo for the radio station 102.5 FM The Bone.

The Bucs head coach has been in the hot seat recently, as the team has racked up a record of 0-6 for the current season. The Bucs will play the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night, after losing 31-23 to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Rookie quarterback Mike Glennon only has three days to prepare for Thursday night's start against NFC South rival Carolina, and he'll likely have to try beat the Panthers without injured running back Doug Martin.

The Bucs have lost 10 of 11 dating to last season, six straight at home, and are running out of competition for the label of worst team in the league.

Tampa Bay and Jacksonville are the only teams who have yet to win this season.

Schiano said losing hasn't weaken the team's resolve, adding "it could always be worse."

"I don't mean record-wise. I just mean in life, you've got to go with the next task at hand," he said.

Walter Football has a new mock draft up. He has the Raiders taking Mike Evans with the No.7 pick, definitely wouldn't complain, but I like Louis Nix a lot.

It would be real nice to land somebody like that. Also, I dunno how to feel about this article. Another draft pick is gone in Raiders new regime poor draft returns

Finally America's Team will be going across the pond next year. This is a huge moment for the NFL.

Yeah, I know! The Raiders in London is a great thing.

Captain America: Winter Soldier trailer.......fuck awesome.
Impressive.

They managed to make something that looks even worse than the first movie (which was garbage).

The only thing I like about Marvel movies since Spiderman 2 is RDJ. If he is not involved then I don't care. Actually I take that back. The first Thor was good. But I am sure the 2nd one will blow now that it is becoming all serious.

I'm convinced the only reason that fat turd still has a job is that the Bucs are tanking for a top 3 pick. That's the only explanation.

The first 1/2 of Captain America wasn't bad actually.

Felt like an actual movie a little bit before devolving into whatever that was.

Thor on the other hand... what a shit movie. Kat Denning's massive rack was only there for like 3 minutes and it was covered up 80% of the time.

I am not impressed by your opinion. Therefore it is incorrect.

Monday night’s Vikings-Giants game was about as dreadful as the NFL gets. But even a lousy NFL game does better ratings than just about anything else on American television.

The latest demonstration of that fact is pointed out by our friend at Hardball Talk, who note that the Vikings-Giants game on ESPN on Monday night had a higher overnight rating than Game One of the World Series on FOX on Wednesday night.
