Good point, ez. Still sucks in just broader context of "that doesn't draw jail time"

First place wooooo

Well, at least Quinn is faster than Patterson

Rams QB situation is 2012 Cardinals bad. Could be a 3 win team. MIN had the worst defense in the league last year and STL never made it to the Red Zone

Vikings defense also upgraded in a few positions and have a new coaching group that is a lot better than last year. I expect them to be a middle of the pack group this year.

LaCanfora saying on twitter that this is the first time the Ravens are seeing the Rice video but it's not surprising because rice told them what's on it.

I am a Zimmer fan and don't doubt they will be better. But the Rams just plain suck. That game was over when Jennings scored his TD. Offense can't do anything and the defense wears down. Doesn't help that the Rams also commit just stupid effing penalties all the time. Top 5 pick, last year in STL and Fisher probably gone

They can move forward, but it makes it awkward and a more difficult conviction, especially when you take into account that it would be against the norm in AC to not plea into their first time offender program, which was set up specifically to save the costs of prosecuting and housing first time offenders.

The thing is even if you think jail time for a first time offense is too much, the program still seems like a joke. It carries no probation and there isn't even a conviction on his record after it's completed.

I thought about this earlier. I know the NFL cannot suspend him again (I believe they have a double jeopardy law) but can they add to his suspension, go to the now-minimum 8 games?

Yeah, my twitter feed is going crazy over the Ray Rice video. Mr Goodell needs to step up and make it right. Pathetic.

Alex Smith didn't do a lot to change my opinion of him yesterday.

Well.. the whole team stunk, Alex Smith didn't do much to add to that, or to take away that. In numbers form, that being a +1, 0, or -1.... he was a perfect 0. The fact that Jamaal Charles was invisible tells all about our Offence..I did like what little I saw of Travis Kelce though. I worry for our secondary next week against Peyton, same with our front 7 with DJ and DeVito gone =(

That's just it, though. I don't see Smith as the kind of guy who is really going to elevate a team. Give him a great o-line, a solid running game, and some good weapons and he'll win you some games, but that's true of most NFL QB's.

I don't want to pile on, though. I hope the Chiefs have a good year and I hope they're able to put it together soon. Those injuries are really unfortunate. :(

The @NFL says “no one in our office had seen” the Ray Rice video until today. It’s my understanding the #Ravens had not seen it either.

Rice is still on your team, as is Joe Flacco :)

Joe Flacco rules. I don't see how anybody can even deny this anymore.

Our 3 most famous players are Ray Lewis (at the very least was with a then-buddy at the time of two murders and said jack shit to police), Ray Rice (fiance-beater), and Terrell Suggs (fiance-beater who also poured bleach on her and his kid).

Meanwhile the one player on the goddamn team everybody jokes about and makes fun of is our Super Bowl MVP who in his spare time never leaves his basement unless it's for McDonalds. He's a fucking saint in comparison, so why is he made fun of the most? Joe Flacco is my hero because at least he publicly stays out of trouble, and I shouldn't have to say that looking at a team of over 50 people. This sucks.

Just the bold is all I've been saying. Smith can win games, and is the least of the Chiefs problem at the moment. Smith might've been a perfect 0 yesterday, but you can say the majority of the team was a -1. It was ugly for sure. Playing the what if game means I wonder how things would've been had Santos made that missed FG! Dammit. And yeah, you missed my edit about those injuries. Not good for sure.

Also, I guess I missed this exchange on FNIA early on.

Harrison: Kansas City, they're done. Their very first game.

Patrick: Done?

Harrison: Yes and I'm not exaggerating. You get your best player on defense, Derrick Johnson, he's out for the year. You play San Diego twice. Why are you looking at me like that?

Patrick: We just had one game!

Dungy: It's early to be done.

Harrison: You have to listen to what I'm saying. You have to play against Denver twice, San Diego twice. You had the entire season to prepare for the Tennessee Titans and you have to play outside the division, the NFC West. Stop looking away Dan. Are you convinced now?

Because it reminded people there was a NFL franchise down there post Marino era?
Completely new o-line, Philbin learning a hard but useful lesson as a head coach, Ireland fired and replaced by Hickey, Sherman fired and replaced by Lazor. It's incredibly early but all of those look like positives so far.
