Packers are devastated on the d line arent't they? and the Hawks have Marshawn Lynch.

Devastated? They had one injury and it made the team significantly better.

Bad? Sure.

Seahawks are going to clown them. It'll take Capers at least six weeks to figure out how to hold opponents under 35 with the garbage he has to work with. Thank God in most of those games Rodgers will but up 40. Also thank God this isn't college football. Losing one game is totally meaningless. It may have some home field implications come play off time but whatever. That's a long way and many Rodgers concussions away.

This first game though? 38-24 Seahawks.

I'm confused, you consider 4-3 DT Letroy Guion an upgrade?

And it will be closer than you think. If the pack can run a no huddle the Seahawks will not be so terrifying defensively.

Even though Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was upgraded to limited on Thursday’s official injury report, the sense inside the team is he will be held out of Sunday’s season opener at Tampa Bay.

...

Newton said he wouldn’t play if he didn’t feel 100 percent, and less than two weeks after he cracked his ribs against the Patriots, it’s hard to imagine he’ll be 100 percent by Sunday. Plus, there’s some thought that playing competent backup Derek Anderson instead of a bruised Newton gives the Panthers a better chance to win.

Honestly I would rather take an L this week than risk him getting a serious re-injury and then having to miss significant time. 1 game's not going to cost us a season. Losing the QB probably will.

All that being said, he's absolutely going to play. Because he's hard-headed and won't say no when asked if he can go or not, and no coach is going to sit him down in favor of Derek Fucking Anderson (sorry kave). All this is gamesmanship
