CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports ex-Redskins coach Mike Shanahan "has very strong interest" to work with Jay Cutler again, and that he'd "quickly emerge" as a candidate in Chicago.
Back in July, Shanahan said he'd like to return to the NFL in a "situation where there was a realistic opportunity to win a Super Bowl." The Bears were billed as contenders for the Lombardi heading into the season, mostly because of their offense. Shanahan drafted Cutler in Denver and had a very strong relationship with the quarterback. Cutler almost landed in Washington when Shanahan went to D.C. If the Bears are interested in keeping Cutler around, expect Shanahan to emerge as a favorite for head coach.

There has been some questions about Smith's direction for the Texans. Only three players (DeAndre Hopkins, D.J. Swearinger, and Ryan Griffin) remain on the Texans active roster from the 2013 Draft. The top of the 2014 Draft class has failed to make an impact this season. The Ed Reed/Glover Quin adventure left a bad taste in Texans fans' mouth.

There was also speculation at BRB a couple months ago that O'Brien and Smith didn't agree on all the picks this past year, including #1 overall.
