NFL 2014 Week 6 |OT| The League of Frauds

I wouldn't trade Rodgers for Luck. Rodger's style will allow him to play for another decade, barring head injuries, so you'd really only get a few years of Luck. The marginal difference 10 years from now isn't worth it.

I think i'm over the long QB career. Shy of Elway who really won anything in their twilight?

I never saw Aaron Rodgers do this:

That was literally jaw dropping.
Every other QB in the league just dives on that and it's considered a good heads-up play.

Yeah and we'd probably lose a few years building a particular offense to suit Luck.

I hope you're right about Rodgers. I think a big part of his game is being able to scramble out of the pocket and pick up first down yardage or throw a pass on the fly. I just question his ability to do that at 36 or 37. Maybe one of these years we'll develop a completely solid line.

On the other hand Luck is a little too physical and I do question his longevity because not everyone is as lucky as the Rapist for avoiding catastrophic injuries.

I don't know maybe it's because I just finished building a new computer and want to play more games on it but I kinda interested in getting Final Fantasy XIII for steam despite me already beating it on ps3. Maybe I just want to see how it looks in 60 fps.

Just read about the 49er fan being partially paralyzed. Successful sports teams not enough for you bloodthirsty maniacs, gotta be attacking your own now. Smh SF culture.

Well, if anyone is interested. I have a key that I don't want anymore since the 50gb download is too much for me.

$9 paypal? Have tons of positive feedback in the B/S/T thread.

No cap but they throttle my speeds down a lot if I download too much. Not worth it for a game I might not even beat (again) anyway.

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy XIV on and I already see I'm not gonna go back to playing this on ps4. Still though I'm gonna most of my games on ps4. I need to get me a computer desk though. Maybe go to a thrift shop and get one for cheap

So about 33 is when your odds drop of a cliff. However, modern medicine and longer careers probably change a lot of this. Brent was damn close to winning twice in his very late 30s and Manning is sure to sniff a chance this year just like last year.

Joe Six-Pack: posting for the common man
lol Seth Payne was talking about how he watched all of Lucks interceptions this year and says there was one where TY Hilton tried to push off. Seth describes it as TY trying to push off but he can't because he's a weakling and so he decides to flop and then him, Luck and Pagano all bitch about the flop not being called.

Yeah. QBs are protected so much now . I do see this possibly leading to the best QBs playing longer and having a better chance to win later in a career due to less nagging injuries. Peyton and Brady do have a chance for sure, a long with many of the younger guns.

Luck is going to win the MVP this year so I'm surprised people are calling him overrated. The Colts are not a very good team. They probably won't get any better when they have to shell out a fortune to keep Luck either.

No joke, I would support the Packers trading Rodgers for Luck just because he's 25 years old and Rodgers is 30 even though I think Rodgers is the better QB right now. I feel like Green Bay is living on borrowed time trying to draft and develop.
I love this thread (because many of us see things very similarly).

I think you could make a case that Luck is the best qb currently and every team in the league would seriously consider trading their qb for him. I would certainly make that trade as a Steelers fan.

Weird how we seem to always be ahead of the media. You would think that because it is their job it would be the other way around. Everyone is still on Rodgers/Manning/etc but you would think more people would be trying to jump on the next great one who to me looks like he is already there.

Also last point. Is it just me or has Rodgers level of play decreased? Or is he just on a shitty team? I have only seen 2 full packer games so I haven't seen enough to say one way or the other.

You don't think he can play in an offense that Rodgers runs now?

What Luck needs is the Colts FO build a better offensive line and look for an every-down RB. Bradshaw is doing pretty well now but he has a lot of mileage on those feet and he'll get injured soon. Luck is playing great but you risk injury with all those hits.

On the age of NFL QBs
(Data is from 2013)
The average age of starting quarterbacks last season was below 28. Take out Manning, Brady, Drew Brees and Carson Palmer, and it plummets to 26.9. Of course, that's hardly fair—the first three in that list are arguably the top three in the sport until further notice.

But that notice could be around the corner.

These averages are no fluke. The previous season featured the youngest average age of leaders at quarterback. "When it comes to age, the passing leaders are an average 28.9 years old. The youngest season was 2011 with 27.5 years old," wrote Bleacher Report's Scott Kacsmar over at Cold, Hard Football Facts.

The average age of Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks over the past five years is 28, though that is a number that might be quite higher were it not for David Tyree's heroics or Wes Welker's big drop.

they had offensive line issues early, played some good defenses, never got the run game going

he looked bad against the Lions and personally blew a few chances, but other than that it's been more of a team inconsistency thing

AJ Green not expected to play vs Panthers:

There’s a reason A.J. Green threw his shoe yesterday, frustrated by his most recent foot/toe problem.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Bengals wide receiver is not expected to play this week after meeting with his foot specialist.

That’s hardly a surprise, after the team’s own media outlet mentioned that a multiple-week rest period might be in order.

The problem with a ligament near his big toe has bothered him throughout the season, and leaves the Bengals thin at wideout heading into Sunday’s game against the cornerback-thin Panthers.

Marvin Jones hasn’t even begun practicing yet, so it’s unlikely we’ll see him soon.

Luck is not better than Rodgers. Rodgers has been the best QB in the league for years and loses almost zero accuracy or might even be more accurate on the move and can make every throw easily.
