Yea, I don't disagree he was going #1. But for pass rushers, 3-cone, short shuttle, and 10 yard split matters. Shitty times make you a high risk player to draft.

If you have shitty times in those drills, you better jump through the building. He didn't.

Everyone was enamored with his 40 yard dash, but I don't know how much a 40 yard dash matters for a pass rusher.

Some rushers win exclusively with their hands but I don't know how you test for that.

I still think tape trumps all, but it really seems like KEI is more prevalent than ever. Steelers bookends are a perfect example. Bud Dupree vs. Jarvis Jones - former is raw as hell but had amazing numbers, latter had amazing tape at Georgia but poor numbers (didn't work out at the combine). Dupree leads the team in sacks his rookie year and Jarvis, while sporting great technique, can't beat his man in time.
