NFL 2015 Week 9 |OT| - A Fraud Had Some Nice Shoes

Coach isn't the problem.

GM is. But the Giant's have only had 3 gm's since 1979 (Young/Accorsi/Reese).

Specifically, the Giant's have been shit since Gettleman went to Carolina, and we repalced him with Marc Ross.

I only included Coughlin because of the Lebeau dilemma. Coughlin is the oldest coach in the league. If this Giants team requires a full rebuild is Coughlin going to want to steer the ship through that?

As for your comment, does Reese not handle personnel? I'm not as familiar with the Giants hierarchy as you obviously.

FWIH, Reese handles free agency and the first round and they've done well there.. They delegate the drafting of the later rounds to Ross ... and that's where the Giants have struggled heavily.

Flacco sucks. Look at what the Rats have become without a dominant defense backing them. The Ravens have scored 190 points this season - Justin Tucker accounts for 74 of them.

So Flacco sucks because his only offensive threat was 35 year old Steve Smith? Great analysis there. Especially considering the steelers have only scored 168.
Go ahead and bring up the injury excuse like they don't affect every team

According to Giants' fans the team has next to no talent on defense with little in the pipeline, has had two back to back awful seasons (and is currently at .500 now) yet still has the same coach and GM?
Little in the pipeline is a little definitive. We have developing young DT's and a new safety who has a bright future. Big Hank is a good piece on the defensive line but he needs help. LInebacker is a lost cause for Giants fans. We haven't prioritized the position for years and we'll have to keep hoping that the 5th round picks we use on them work out as well as Kennard has and even then he's young and developing. We need pass rushers. We just IR'd Owa so there goes a promising rookie season.

Jerry Reese isn't going anywhere. Marc Ross and the scouting department? Yeah. Possibly there's a shake-up going to happen there is the near future but Rome wasn't built in a day. Ross is the VP of college scouting and player evaluation. Reese has a had in the process (primarily in the first round as Draxal noted) but Ross is primarily in charge of the process.

All of that having been said, we've gotten 7 starters out of the last 3 drafts. A vast majority of that has been on the offensive side of the ball (specifically at WR and OL). I mean, its hard to just wave that away and act like there's been no progress.

The Giants needs a good solid defensive draft or two under their belts for better or worse. Rebuilding the line has been the focus the last 2-3 years. The Osi's, Tucks and Strahan's of the world are long gone and we haven't replaced them yet. The one difference maker blew up his hand in the offseason.:(

He's said he has no interest in retiring so sure. Why not? If you get rid of Coughlin you're pretty much blowing the team up at that point for better or worse. There are arguments to be had for both of those scenarios playing out.

Lions house cleaning begins.

Wow!

Larry your hate for Flacco is unjust. The defense wasn't playing all world the year we went to the superbowl, we almost gave up the game winning drive against the 49ers if not for Jimmy's no-call on Crabbie.

His 2 losses against the pats came off a Lee Evans Drop/Billy Cundiff chipshot miss and Torrey Smith giving up on a ball after the defense gave up TWO 14 point leads.

Playoff Flacco is real. No sane GM is letting his super bowl winning QB walk in this climate. QB's get paid, that's just how the game is. Time to stop complaining about it. Luck is gonna get paid too.

An Injury to your starting QB is not a good excuse? Haha okay.

Why didn't they just fire Caldwell while they were at it today? Feel bad for him, couldn't possibly be in a more dead man walking state.

Half measures. Firing the President and GM and not the coach is stupid.

So is an injury to your starting TE and 1st round WR. Ravens rank 10th in points scored. The offense is not the problem with this team.

You mean your ROOKIE WR? You don't think there is a problem with expecting a first round rookie to start, especially on a team that has NEVER shown any proclivity towards drafting talented Wide Receivers?

Rats offense has always been mediocre at best. Flacco's problem is that there's nobody on the field fast enough to gift him Pass Interference calls anymore.

Crazy day in Detroit. Caldwell might be hiding in his office.
@RapSheet: #Lions source on the firings today: “Total wipeout.” Apparently, bosses are going through the building deciding who stays and goes.

No wonder Caldwell's safe. Going through the building looking at people deciding who stays and who goes leads you to miss him entirely because he blends in with the furniture

You let the new crew decide on the coach. Caldwell is almost definitely gone depending on who they bring in to run the show, but hey, maybe they bring in Dungy as President/GM.
