That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.
Let's not forget:

Legend has it he thew the ball 60 yards through the uprights from his knees during a workout which caused Brian Billick to orgasm and draft him in the 1st round.

This same story was told about bengals legend david klinger. I always wondered whether it was just a common fake story about qbs.

Damn it, it took me forever to make this decision now I go through everything again :/

I know 3D is dead going forward but I have some 3D movies that I love and would like to keep watching (plus some games) so that's why I want to get a newer 3D tv now before they are really hard to find (mine is about 5 years old now)
I had to make the same decision. A handful of movies/games I enjoy watching/playing in 3D vs. HDR and what's coming down the pike. I chose to dump 3D and frankly I haven't regretted it. (I bought the 55inch LG B6 OLED).

Another option is to wait for some price drops once the 2017 models hit retail. The 2016 LG C6 OLED will drop down (yes its curved but its super subtle unlike Samsung's curved atrocities) as an example. It's $3500 right now for a 65inch but I would bet it drops in the $2600 range when the sales start. It supports 3D, Dolby Vision and LG has already committed to a firmware update for HLG. OLED 3D is also about as good as it gets.

The same would go for the X930D in terms of seeing it drop down below the current pricing when the new models hit. In other words, minimize the investment in case you want to upgrade later.

Hmmm well I found the X930D for 1700 at this local TV store, how much more would they really drop? I was kinda looking forward to watching the Superbowl on a new/bigger tv.

You could say that about all media.

I bet porn media is pretty great.

That's a good price. If you'r comfortable with it - go for it man. It's a fine TV. It was my second option behind the OLED when I returned the KS8000.

Chargers logo is lame as hell and the stadium there gonna play at barely holds 30k?

What a shit show... I hope nobody shows up for that first game lol.

Yet if I recall they told them to shove off when it came to the November ballots of a stadium

Did you not notice the second picture I posted? I always find fan response to losing a team fascinating after living through it myself. Adams had just burned up any favor he had with the fans in Houston with his underhanded attempts to get a new stadium here. Think the Rockets winning back to back titles during it helped to ease the pain and give no fucks

They dont even have a head coach right now

Which OLED did you get? The LG? I thought about that but the price increase was just too much and while I like having new-fancy tech I don't need the latest and greatest, I'd rather have the X930D for the same price as the 55"

Now the question is whether I can resist Sony's new OLED they announced at CES.:)

OLED isn't about fancy tech. It's about what you prioritize in the way of picture quality. The Sony set has a higher peak brightness and when calibrated stronger color reproduction. It also has better motion handling overall. However, the LG has far better contrast and black level reproduction. It also support Dolby Vision as mentioned and WebOS shits all over Sony's Android TV implementation. I put more emphasis on black level and contrast having come from a top of the line plasma set. I can't live with the blooming/clouding associated with LED/LCD sets like this:

To each their own in the regard but that was the biggest factor in choosing my next television coming from Plasma.

I have no idea about what the new hotness is with regards to TVs, last one I bought was a Panasonic plasma. Not looking forward to reading up on all this shit when it's time to get a 4K display.

My friend, have you thought about waiting 2 weeks until Super Bowl Sunday? That's about the best time to get a TV. Even better than Black Friday.

Actually you buy right after the Super Bowl. People buy for the game then return it the Monday after. Great open box deals

About 3 years ago I was ready to buy a new TV and wanted a plasma. Did my research and decided on one of the lower end Panasonics, only to find out that earlier that year they had stopped making the lower end plasma line. Had to go with Samsung but man it still bums me out. I even tried buying it from one of those warehouses and no luck

My Panasonic plasma still going strong. I get the urge to upgrade because TVs are so cheap but i don't really need to. I get discounts through work on Samsung and the deals are pretty ridiculous.

It's a minefield right now. HDR standards look to finally be settling with HDMI2.1 being announced but there's still a great deal to read/learn about. Hell, I long for the days when i was simply LCD/Plasma. There was nothing complicated about that choice.:)

Now its OLED vs LED/LCD, peak brightness performance, HDR standards supported, motion processing/handling comparisons, better overall image processing, upgradeability, etc.

The reality is that even if you were to buy a new television in 2017, its likely that they will miss any cutoff on including HDMI2.1 hardware. Which is significant as HDMI2.1 includes support for dynamic HDR metadata, variable refresh rate support and more.

My VT50 is still in the living room as the "family TV". I'll never get rid of it. It's one of the best consumer electronics I've ever purchased.

The OLED is in my home theater/den.

I don't even want to think about how much it's gonna cost us to grab a 4K projector in a year or two.

Ah ok, I'm not too familiar with those types of details when it comes to TVs although I think I would prefer color over contrast if I had to pick one but I'd need to do a live comparison.

This one review was the one that tipped the scaled in favor of Sony

https://www.cnet.com/products/sony-xbr-x930d-review/2/

as far as the smart tv stuff...I would only use it for netflix/amazon and I mostly use my sony bluray player for that anyways,

I guess I'll just go with the X930D,
