Doubt it. Howie's big thing is locking up young players to long term contract before they have breakout seasons. Cooper had a decent year and Howie totally panicked since he has no idea how to actually do his job.

No idea how to do his job? He's like one of the best cap managers in the NFL. You can complain about his skill in evaluating talent and maybe have a semblance of an argument, but aggressively locking up young players before free agency is the best thing he does (and Banner did). If he saw DeSean being gone and Maclin coming off injury with no assurances he'd recover well then it would certainly be a motivating factor to make sure you had someone on the team who could catch (which it turned out Riley Cooper forgot how to do that next year).

I wonder how much of Cooper's contract was because Howie saw the writing on the wall with Chip and DeSean Jackson and was just trying to make sure the team actually had a WR the next season.

I think Chip kept him around b/c he was such a good blocker. He also did benefit from the departures of Jackson and Maclin. It's hard to replace a starter under contract when you already have to bring in a new starter. So I think Chip and Howie probably would have liked to move on but needed him.

Yeah, that's generally the point I am making. It's fun to play the Howie blame game, but he was sort of backed into a corner on the Riley Cooper contract. I still just don't understand the Howie Roseman hatred people have. Also, the "not a football guy" argument makes me want to punch people in the head.

Such a catch 22. Get sent home early to work cuz the weather is horrible but I have work off a laptop instead of a PC with dual monitors which fucking blows.

The Steelers could have AB open a "medical facility" inside Heinz field and have all the players use it. The P*triot way! Also a good way to funnel the players drugs and ped's.
Brown is one of the greatest people in the world.

He would never resort to the "Patriot Way".

The Steelers might lose out on a few rings by not blatantly cheating but at least we will always have our honor and no one can question the legitimacy of our titles. That means everything!

Man I hope Brown gets one...

Yeah I am all in favor of bringing in outsiders. "Football guy" stuff to me is dumb. But Howie has had some really, really bad drafts. He also has had power struggles or personal issues with so many people, and he always wins. So I guess I would not be super enthused if my GM's greatest skill was office politics

Do you blame Washington and Jefferson for animu invading American shores?

I can't control how people manipulate what I have created.
No.. Because they are kind of dead and japan was closed of from much of the world at that time regardless.

You are here and in your hedonistic lifestyle of eating crab legs and Jameis loving let them come in and corrupt the youth. Shame on you DM.. For shame.

I think it's already in the conversation!

Most people seem to think Fates is better than FE:A. I'll be blown away if so.

hype... levels... rising...

I mean story = whatever; chars = whatever. Maps are better, game's better balanced difficulty wise, qol options are better (fully functionable internet options). And feet.

Sounds wonderful! I do have one fairly loaded question if you don't mind answering; how is pair-up this time around? In FE:A I felt like it was a necessity to the point where I wouldn't bring a unit into battle unless they had someone to pair-up with. I know enemies can do it this time around as well so I'm curious how that will play out. I'm hoping they found a way to balance all of those options more effectively.

There's two different stances now guard and attack stance. You can only dual attack if chars are not paired together, but you can only get the stat bonus and guard is units are paired together.

Eli is iffy. Has a bunch of inconsistent years on his resume. He also hasn't gotten his team into the playoffs consistently enough. I look at Eli as a step below Brady/Manning. Great post season qb, but isn't consistent enough to be in the HoF. Megatron will get in, but it's doubtfull if he is a first ballot though. WR criteria for first ballot is pretty damn tough.

has the rings, has the stats, has the probowls. He's a first ballot hall famer pretty comfortably I'd say.
