NFL 2016 Offseason Thread |OT2| No Country for Old Members

Cocaine probably. Hung out with Grover yesterday

yo Mech I just saw this former Broncos and Texans safety Rahim Moore says being with Browns like being drafted again

"It's a blessing. It feels like being drafted all over again," Moore said in a release, via Ohio.com. "I can definitely sense the aura on how this program is trying to change things around."

LMAO

Almost exactly what he said last year when we signed him

Then he proceeded to fall down and avoid contact

Unless Mariotta is a hall of famer Titans are fools for not taking that deal IMO

Oddly enough people on Twitter seem to think that Mariotta is better than Cox and two 1s. If he turns out to be an All-Pro, then yeah, you'd rather have the QB. But that seems really unlikely

Goffs hands grew

The subject of many a pre-draft discussion...Cal QB Jared Goff's hand...measuring in today at 9 1/8

Is there any place in PA where I can demo this VR shit in the next few months?

I would really like to try out the Occulus and PS stuff.

Is MS even trying with VR on the Xbox? I doubt Nintendo is jumping onboard with their next console which is a shame and also seems like they might really miss the boat.

MS is doing HoloLens it is kind of like VR but hopefully will allow for more then just playing games. I honestly doubt any of this stuff takes off though.

Honestly haven't payed attention to any of the VR shit. But kinda interested now. That rigs game looks like it could be fun and A new Rez! VR seems like it would hamper reaching for beers though
Loved that episode

Lots of weak ones this season but stuff like "Being Frank" will go down as the best episode since the Nightman Cometh.
Haven't seen any of the new ones. Never get a chance to catch me live, so I always just wait for Netflix to update...... Even though it takes forever.

Night man cometh is greatest of all time though

I think AR like Hololens could be really amazing once they can get it all into one pair of glasses. Right now needing all of the equipment to make it happen makes it more of an interesting test of technology.

I think VR is for real and the next step for video games. I can't believe that only Sony has a solution for this. Not sure WTF MS and Nintendo are thinking, unless they think it sucks or will flop. Sony seems to have the setup that the most people are going to be using to be playing games. Which is why I really want to try it because if it is legit then it is the next big thing in games. Otherwise I see zero innovation in games if we don't move to VR. Just slightly evolved open world games. VR changes everything if it is successful.

I mean VR is actually getting me hyped. If I got to play it and liked it I would definitely buy Sony's system and would even consider making my own PC as well.

I think it's here to stay.

Too many applications for it, outside of games even.

If I could get rid of monitors for work and just wear a headset for instance? That would be great.

I can't wait for Luck to have a statue outside Mile High.

I'm okay with this.

Maybe I am giving the Titans to much credit but I figured now that they got the QB figured out they can focus on the rest of the team and it should be easier to build that up with not having to waste high picks on a QB.

Them keeping Mularkey lost them a lot iof credit for me. I don't want to go so far as to call them a joke organization, but it doesn't seem like they have any idea what they are doing. Did anybody think them taking Murray was a good move?

I think the Murray deal can be a great move for them. They literally gave up 0, just a swap of picks in the 4th round, the extra money doesnt matter since they are way under the cap anyways. Basically they get a player 10 spots later in the 4th and in exchange they get a guy who 2 years ago was the NFL rushing leader. They have a good QB, if Murray can just be okay that is a great move for them. I always like it when teams buy low on guys who were good before, and especially Murray since the situation with the Eagles last year was such a disaster. He was getting hammered in the backfield almost every play early in the year because the Eagles OL was so bad. That should not happen with the Titans.

The Eagles offensive line, even with how bad it was, was leagues better than the Titans OL this year.

I'm mainly interested in it for flight and space sims, so even if it doesn't take off mainstream I'd be fine with it being niche on PC, since those are niche genres as it is.

Speaking of, someone needs to do a proper Top Gun flight-sim game with VR support. I want to tangle with Iceman in a dogfight. Hell, reuse the DOAX volleyball engine at the same time for the obligatory volleyball matches in-between. But with more Cruise and Kilmer obviously.

Yup, that's all I need, that's why I'm buying PSVR day one.

Sony's VR will be a flop for gaming. Too many expensive peripherals. It won't be anything more than a curiosity.

I agree.

No Man's Sky would be a perfect match. Ace Combat, Warhawk, Descent would be great. Or even a new Jumping Flash would be cool.

Personally, I'm looking forward to something like Steel Battalion or MechWarrior type of game.

Just thought of Panzer Dragoon. That would be sweet too.

I was kind of curious about it until I heard $400 and it doesnt even come with the camera or move controller. I wonder how long it will be until a company makes something like this at a mass market price.

BG pls, you just want VR so you can have virtual porn with Leslie Knope....

I'll wait on VR till the software I care about is there and when the technology is much cheaper and better.

It's still the cheapest way in for VR for many, especially the people who don't own a high end PC. It definitely won't be a flop, especially when it has the most software shown off for it.

Sony has one of the cheaper options for VR.

If you want it cheaper you have to get it on a Samsung phone or mobile device.

I don't think it is expensive at all to try a totally new form of entertainment.

It might be cheap for VR in general but it seems expensive for a peripheral. Has an company every had a $400 addon to a console sell well? I guess there is always a first but it seems like VR as a format has a lot of inherent problems that I have no idea how they will ever solve. Hopefully it is good though, it would be cool to have new ways to interact with games.

No offense but those are just words.

How many people are actually clamoring for VR? Fanboys and techies will buy this because they always buy stuff like this, but it just is not a mass market device, and won't be at those prices. Just like all peripherals, adoption will dictate support, and with a cost of entry of $880 (Console, VR, camera, Move controller). I wouldn't hold my breath for 3rd parties scrambling to develop titles, and Sony themselves have proven time and again that they are quick to drop support for something if it doesn't make money.

I'm looking forward to this mainly for what applications develop outside of gaming. Kind of like Kinect, who's best use had nothing to do with what it was sold for.

It seems like it is the future for videogames.

At least that is what I have been told. I would like to experience it myself to see whether or not I agree with that assessment.

VR is going to be expensive for some time because the requirements are so high that there is a ton of room for improvment. If it works it is going to be huge for gaming and I think for PCs as well. Gaming is pretty static and this is the first thing in a long time that actually requires a shit load of CPU and GPU power. It would be great for the computer industry as a whole I think if this takes off. Right now VR is in its infancy.

As for the price of a peripheral I think it is priced reasonably when you consider what it adds. They are not adding rumble to your controller. Its a VR headset that allows you to play games in a way you never did before.

You will probably disagree as you are pretty happy with the ghetto that gaming is currently in.

It's not a mass market device and was never pitched as one. These models for all companies are for early adopters who always pick up the new tech at day one. Also, I don't think anyone without a PS4 already is gonna opt to pick up one of these either, but even with the cost of peripherals, it's still much cheaper for most people to pick up a PSVR vs any other VR device when it eventually hits mass market models.

As a vita owner that still plays with their vita to this day, I definitely don't disagree with your last sentence and am still super bitter at Sony for not even attempting to appeal to the vita market anymore, but I don't think they'd drop PSVR support as quickly as they did for the Vita.

Yeah I honestly could not be happier with the current state of gaming. I have so much to play and the list is growing constantly. I do hope that this does well, I just am not sure that it will. Deacon mentioned Sony's history of dropping support and I do fell like that is a cause for concern in this case. I bought 2 move controllers the day that they came out. I was super excited for that, especially for the idea that it was going to user in a new era of light gun games, and they dropped support for it in a blink.

Hololens is brilliant for non gaming applications. Was chatting with Kas last night and talking about situations like being able to walk around an unfinished construction site and visualise exactly what the finished building will look like. Sort of thing you can't do in VR because Hololens is standalone and untethered.
