Exactly. VR could completely fail in gaming. But engineering, architecture, medicine? The applications are endless

Gaming is just the tip of the iceberg as far as I'm concerned.

Obviously we are a long way out from this, but it's damn cool.

If I could replace my monitors at work for instance with a headset or hololens? I'd do it in a heartbeat. Especially there was good software for remoting in.

Gaming on consoles is a large niche but it is still a niche. It's huge with a particular demographic (boys between 10-40), but even then it's not like we have a PS4 in every house. Most people I know got a Wii or 360 and have not upgraded. The manchildren all did of course but like I said niche.

So VR could work if it gets a decent percentage of that.

It doesn't seem like it adds anything to the yearly EA sports games but it could be huge for FPS (assumption time).

Man I can't imagine ever being so engrossed in work that I'd want it literally strapped to my head. Fuck that.

That's AR. I think that's the future. A super advanced AR that can double as a VR headset without any ghosting would be the best.

I'll take a punch in the dick for that.

It's not a matter of being engrossed.

It's just more practical than having 3 monitors. Obviously the UI has to be there, but it would be nice to be able to be able to ditch the monitors and have your workspace in what is essentially an infinite workspace.

Yeah, I just kinda lump them together at this point. I thought the Gear VR had a camera passthrough? I can't remember. Anyways, not AR but would allow you to see that shot coming. I'm assuming most are going to have something like that eventually.

I use a Gear VR to watch movies and Netflix. It feels like being at a movie theater and despite the screen door effect which isnt too bad, beats my TV for watching media. Obviously the social aspect isn't there but within the decade they'll have a VR+AR combo that you can watch media and even sporting events with your friends which will be hard to beat.

When will you reopen?

I still haven't upgraded. Lol and most of my friends who did rarely even use their console. Bunch of old farts playing shit on their phones now.

I read that the VR passthrough has enough lag that you can't do that stuff right now, would be cool if technology advances enough to see VR/AR start to merge in future. Shit like Hololens could be so amazing for productivity in the workplace.

Don't need a console or PC for VR porn.
If BreadGhost isn't already heavily invested in teledildonics then bail out.

Predictions and everything, but I wouldn't be surprised that if in the very near future one of the Virtual Desktops adopted local scene recognition. AR and VR are two ends of the same candle. While we wait for them to merge it would be pretty easy to use exiting cameras to pull your environment into your virtual environment. Something like this, but without the need for a markers. Markers are there for high fidelity. People will only need approximations to maintain spatial awareness while wearing a headset.

Really I'm just excited to see progression in general.

I'd like a car that will drive me around with little to no intervention, great AR/VR, and AI on the level of humans in my lifetime. I've got 30-50 years if I'm lucky.

Outside of the stuff that would benefit humanity more of course.

Smart. I'm excited to see what they come up with. Feels like watching a sunrise basically.

Bob Ley just shat on the Browns for no reason on ESPN. He's covering the US Soccer match vs Guatemala in Columbus in ten minutes and said:

ESPN Godfather said:
There's a phrase they use here in Ohio, generally for the Browns, called the Factory of Sadness...

BG gotta hold this L
