I really liked Earthbound from what I played of it but the random encounters were a bit to much and I stopped playing after 8 hours or so.
I can see why people love the game though.

The more you have of something the less you value it. That applies to money, women, championships, etc.
You would probably feel differently about the bimmer if you bought a new one every 6 years.
That said my car is running well but it has close to 180k miles on it. I might get another Lexus when/if that happens but I might upgrade to something bigger than an IS. And I hope I don't give in to temptation and learn to do the sensible thing and buy used.
