NFL 2016 Week 10 |OT| - The Dream is Dead.

You know what candidate would have been perfect in 2020?

Bernie Sanders.

I'm not so sure about that. He would've been better for rust belt voters, but he didn't inspire minority voters. Hillary lost partially because of lower minority turnout, and she overwhelmingly got their support in the primaries against Bernie. Add in the fact that he's a Jewish self-described socialist with a few scandals in his closet that never got brought to the fore, going against a literal Neonazi using (((globalist))) as a dogwhistle to attack Jews

My boy Wentz ain't no trump supporter.

He almost definitely was. Just accept it. Malcolm Jenkins said 90-100% of the white Eagles players voted for Trump.

If only our dumb pennsyltucky people hadn't turned out so hard. Here in Philly we got the job done. We could be welcoming new Eagles fans with arms wide open.

It wasn't pennslytucky. We knew they were going Trump. It was the Philly suburbs. She barely won Buck's county for fuck's sake. And the second you get beyond those counties directly bordering Philly it immediately flipped.

I really am stunned that blacks and hispanics turned out so poorly for Hillary.PA going for Trump is very disappointing though. I thought after Obama that the Dems would pull it out there. It is funny Nevada is the same way, one big city that goes for the Dems and then a ton of weird backwater areas that go for the Republicans.

Nevada's got Harry Reid cracking the whip though and keeping motherfuckers in line. The Nevada Democratic machine is ridiculous

Any chance that Squidward takes his remaining contract money and retires? I think he should not be in the spotlight any longer and just fade away with his millions of dollars.

Fucking has-been quarterback. JUST FUCKING RETIRE ALREADY.

I love the narrative that minorities are the reason Trump won when the only demographic he won is white people.

The narrative is that Trump won the swing states by very small margins, and those states all had much lower minority turnout this election then they did either time Obama ran. Obviously the people who voted for Trump are to blame, but the people who should have voted against him but didnt also are to blame.

You mean the ocean now filled with toxic sludge due to the disbandment of the EPA?

Pass.

I can't see California state law going lax even if the EPA goes away. We're already a lot tougher on emissions/pollution control than the federal standards, we may be the last bastion standing!

Yeah except all you ever hear about on this site are the endless legions of minorities that stayed home.

Now we're supposed to unify and accept the garbage people that voted for Trump? Nah breh.

People should get their own houses in order before they try to fix anyone else's.

Well Silicon Valley will definitely be the "Elysium".....or "Mega City One" or some shit like that.

Making it about specific demographics was a mistake when everyone's turnout except Latinos was down.

Pointing fingers and infighting in the left is just going to help Trump anyway. Unfortunately the left has always, ALWAYS been more disorganized and in need of a strong central figure (like Obama).

I just think people are really frustrated. The media has been hammering Trump for his racist policies for months so the expectation was that minorities would come out for Hillary in record numbers. I know that the CBS election coverage started out with all the hosts saying that they expected record Hispanic turnout this year. When that didnt happen people were surprised and disappointed.

I hear you. I'm saying why is the expectation that minorities would come out in record numbers instead of people in general not supporting a bigot? That's all.

People take the racism and sexism and xenophobia and all that as a given, like there's nothing that can be done about it, so they think they need to depend on minorities to go above and beyond your average American in terms of turnout. That would just be a bandaid.

Trump's America.

That list of potential cabinet members is terrifying. The anti-establishment candidate is establishing to most establishment government in a long time. SAD!

Go Browns.

It is far easier and less scary to say we lost this election instead of admitting that a lot of Americans actually want Trump.

It is not as scary when we disagree on stuff like abortion because we can blame religion. Or taxes because we can just blame greed.

But the fact is America elected a white supremacist. One that was covered for 16 months and was caught on tape bragging about getting away with sexual assault. Spin all you want guys but that is America for at least 2016-2018. That is who we are. And as SVG said we lost the right to criticize anyone else for being shitty because right now we are horrible as a nation.

Those are all concerns (along with his age, which honestly I think is the biggest reason he didn't go anywhere with voters) but if this election has taught us anything it's that the safe candidate doesn't work in today's climate. Candidates wanted a shake up - Bernie had that in spades.

To bad Biden couldnt run, he definitely resonates with the blue collar types, his son was in the military, he has experience but no scandals. I bet he would have won.

I don't think they have to be mutually exclusive and I'm not placing blame. Just saying I'm ashamed and appalled at whites and I'm also disappointed that minorities didn't show up. We needed to come together to defeat a piece of shit and we didn't do it.

Better shot than Bernie.

I've seen a few people blaming him for this. They can fuck the hell right off.

He would have been a great candidate though.

Yep. He was the Democrats anti-establishment candidate. Which is ironic given how long he's been in Congress.

He did. Hillary was the wrong candidate. But so was Bernie. He had skeletons that no one talked about (his wife with the university, Sierra Blanca, etc.), and he was a socialist. That word is poison to middle America who still remembers the Cold War. He could've made up the 110K vote difference between WI, MI and PA among white voters, but he could've also lost minority votes as well. I'm not sure that Bernie would've won.

This on the other hand probably would've worked. His son dying kept him from running though. I think he would've known to not ignore the rust belt

Oldest trick in America is turning labor and minorities against each other. Its like clockwork.

Maybe, but only slightly. Voters are extremely biased against older candidates.

It's impossible to say exactly, there is too many intangibles and we already know how the polls went this Tuesday.

I think it's safe to say Joe would have been the safer choice, and Bernie still would have been a sell to many Democrats.

His ground game with minorities was extremely weak, Clinton beat him up with it.
