Not watching the NFL until Kap is signed, but this Is not even close to the main reason that the NFL is doing poorly. Last year the excuse was the presidential race... Who knows what the excuse will be this year. All of the bad press plays a part as well.

I decided against fantasy football this year too and that makes it very easy to not watch any football at all. Almost to the point where I forget that it is even on. I never thought I would say those words.

Hopefully you don't watch the NBA either if Kap is such a big deal for you.

NFL popularity has peaked and most games just aren't very good. Too many mediocre/bad QB's, too many bad teams.

Has there been a more overrated WR than Dez in recent memory. They talk about him like he's a game changer but hasn't been in a long time. Drops passes or is invisible far more than other so called elite WR and it's not like he's s great route runner that constantly gets open.

I still belive he is one of the top three red zone weapons in the league, nobody is more physical with the ball in there hands than Bryant, last year only reinforced that, This year he is still showing how dangerous he is in the redzone. Dak has been throwing like shit, Dez is having to catch either way too high or dive for the ball, it is reminding me of 2015 with Cassell and Weeden. Dez is not a top end burner but has enough in initial quickness to allow the QB to get him the ball, his foot injuries has sapped him of the ability to beat his man more consistently but even going back farther he always had trouble.

Dez is still dangerous, it is the offense that is a predictable mess right now.

Plus with all the fear over CTE and early injuries the quality of play the first month of the season is awful. Honestly it's starting to feel like the preseason is 8 weeks.

The NFL is still a juggernaut that is always the most watched TV events every year. It's not just the NFL that is down, live TV everywhere is down. Even with the down ratings last night, SNF still had more viewers then any other TV program.

it will distinguish them from the rest so we can properly show our respect and admiration to them!

I was expecting Nassib to go eventually. He knew them. Tom knows him. He reunites with Marrone who coached him Syracuse as did Jags OC Nathaniel Hackett.

LA is a way bigger problem than ratings.

Turns out a market that didn't care about 1 football team last time it was there isn't really in the mood to support 2 teams. Go figure.

I think the Rams will be fine once they get fully settled. They're in the same weird transition period that the Oilers were in when they first moved to Tennessee. Once they get the new stadium open, they'll be fine (especially if they start to have some success).

The Chargers, on the other hand, are screwed. They're always going to be second fiddle to the Rams. They're never going to be able to overcome that. Spanos never should have moved the team and I hope it comes back to bite him in the ass. I've got a good feeling the Chargers will eventually end up back in San Diego.

Not surprising really

Football has started to lose its appeal to me. Feels like the games aren't as exciting as they used to be? I just don't feel compelled to watch 4 quarters of every game anymore
Honestly I'm in the same spot. I used to watch every NFL game available to me. Even of it was two shit ass teams playing. Now I'm like better things to do.

Last night this happened:
Wife: you want to watch the game or game of thrones.
Me: don't care what do you want?
Wife: game of thrones Rodgers is a weenie
Me:what?
Wife: he whines all the time
Me: you think all the best QBs whine all the time, Brady Rodgers, romo, P. Manning.
Wife: Manning didn't whine!
Me: are you serious, I love watching him play but he whined all the time.

We ended up watching two episodes of game of thrones. Tuned in to the game and it was 31 to 7. Whelp didn't miss much there.

MLB BJ Goodson is out tonight it seems. He had 18 tackles vs. Dallas. In his place will be undrafted rookie Calvin Munson.

Good thing the Lions aren't known as a rushing team. Linebackers are in terrible shape at the moment.

This is the first season I can remember ever having complete apathy. Its hard to care about your team when they aren't even remotely trying to put out a competitive product or seemingly have any kind of vision for the future.

I wouldn't even have a problem with the Jets tanking if there was any actual light at the end of the tunnel. Theres almost no talent on this team, let along any good young talent, the GM and HC are both complete idiots. Have gotten to the point where theres no reason to think anything changes at all until Woody is gone.

Per @AustinKarp: NBC's 12.6 overnight rating for Packers-Falcons is lowest Week 2 ”SNF" overnight since a 2008 PITT-CLE game.

Browns no longer hold a bad (ratings) record, so in a way the Cleve has done it yet again!!! #8-8

Everyone was watching PBS.

Edit: Also, the 430pm game bled into the beginning of the Primetime game because of rain delay.

I watched 30s of live football yesterday, chose to hang with friends yesterday, as i have gotten older i feel like the NFL is a stale product, I would love to see some divisional shake ups, enough with the AFC/NFC shit,...

If it wasn't for being able to stream games to my phone or computer, I probably wouldn't watch much. But with streaming, I can have it on while I do other stuff around the house. Sitting in front of the TV for 3+ hours is such a huge time suck.

The NFL would be smart to double-down on the streaming experience.

USA Today says Bradford has a bone bruise. Zimmer said he thought it got twisted vs Saints. Bradford took half of the practice snaps last week, so there was an expectation he was going to play. My guess is he plays this week.

I thought they could have beaten Pittsburgh had he been healthy but he wasn't and they didn't

They are really screwing themselves by letting DirecTV have exclusive rights until like 2022. Really stupid decision on the NFL's part.

Going out to watch the game with friends for beer and food definitely helps on the time commitment issue since it doesn't feel as big of a waste of time.

Live reaction on the games is fun here but I might just start DVRing and watching it on fast forward.

So, so dumb. I would totally subscribe to an NFL streaming-only package but tying streaming to a satellite TV subscription? Asinine.
