So RG3 will be healthy in time for Pre season and Shanahan will think this is just a one time injury and continue running the same offense?

If it makes you feel any better Stafford suffered a few injuries his first two seasons on both shoulders, and missed a ton of time and look at how he`s bounced back.

Few QBs are as tough as Stafford, but I think RG3 will be fine for next season with proper rehab. Not sure about the long run though...

Hopefully thats the case and that Rg3, Shanny and the medical staff become more cautious from now on.

I think they will do the same as the Vikings did with AP. Basically run a lite-version of what they were doing the first few weeks then see from there. If he looks good then back to same old, and if not then adjustment time.

BAL @ DEN - Peyton is going to be all over the Ravens defense. Will be close until the 4th quarter. I don't see Flacco being able to keep pace with Peyton. 31-20.

GB @ SF - Go Niners

SEA @ ATL - Until further notice, Atlanta is still a bunch of frauds. Low scoring game. 17-14.

HOU @ NE - Houston is going to come out with something to prove. This is going to be a close game all the way through. I expect to see a lot of blitzing for both teams. Texans have to get pressure on Brady if they even want a chance. Late TD pass to Gronkowski seals this for the Patriots. 34-24

From USA today @ 2:18a.m. EST January 9, 2013:
The news regarding Robert Griffin III's injured knee has gone from bad to worse.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported early Wednesday morning that the Washington Redskins quarterback will undergo total reconstructive surgery later today to repair torn anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments in his right knee.

Mortensen, citing team sources familiar with the determination made by orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews, reports that Griffin's recovery time is expected to be six-to-eight months, meaning he should be ready for the Redskins' 2013 regular-season opener. Without any setbacks, Griffin, who tore his ACL before in 2009, should be able to participate in training camp in August.

A team source told Mortensen that Dr. Andrews is likely to use a patella graft from Griffin's left knee to repair the torn ACL. While the reconstruction of the LCL is considered complicated, Dr. Andrews informed the Redskins that it should be able to rehab well simultaneously with the repaired ACL.

While Art Briles couldn't confirm the extent of the damage to Griffin's knee Tuesday, the Baylor coach expressed confidence in Griffin's ability to recover from any setback.

"Robert will do what he always does, he'll rise again," Briles told USA TODAY Sports. "He just attacked that ACL tear, which is what he's done with everything he's ever been involved with, intellectually or athletically.

"Whatever it is, come next fall, Robert will be Robert. Whatever the outcome winds up being, he'll attack it just like he attacks everything else -- with a lot of fearless confidence and great effort."

Good luck Mr III, looking forward to seeing you next season.

Posted? Rex adresses the tattoo:

"Yeah, there was a question is that a real tattoo or not. And I'll keep you guessing. It's funny. It's actually a tattoo I've had going on three years now. I know what you're thinking -- obviously, if Sanchez doesn't play better, that number is changing. That's pretty much a given.

"But, no, I've been married 25 years, and through my eyes my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world. So that's what it is."

6-8 months woah these super doctors are really good. My cousin tore his LCL and the doctor he had was the former team doctor for the NY Giants, and it took him a good year.

I guess if you tear your LCL you risk cartridge damage. So there are long and short term risks now with that injury. Maybe that is what BlackAce was referring too?

RG3 sure could use the Stafford Diet®

I was reading about Seattle's read option offense. Sounds difficult to defense unless the outside LB's are disciplined enough to watch the ball and not the players.

The Seahawks ran the read option late in the game week 13 vs the Bears in Chicago (although they had used it some earlier in the season as well, this was the big showcase game in my opinion where we started to see it more). They tore the Bears apart with it, Bears had no answer despite their best efforts to adjust. And since that week 13 game, Seattle has faced some pretty good defenses and continued to find success using it.

I believe the Falcons saw a similar thing against the Panthers and had mixed results. The offense bailed them out in one game and we lost the other game.
It will be a tough game.

1. Its not that suprising since NFL players are super-human athletes with top of the line rehab services available to them.

2. If he's the former NYG team doctor it wouldn't suprise me if he botched the surgery (one of the reason Kenny Philips wants out). I know I'm just being bitter about how bad the Giant's injury luck is recently (at least it's not as bad as the Mets).

3. Timeline of this is extremely ambitious.

That would be a concern if this were basketball but it isn't. I don't imagine any damage there would effect his career.

William Moore could be the X factor for us on defense. He was out the last time we played Carolina. He's a lot better in run support than Decoud is.

The San Diego Chargers have contacted UCLA football coach Jim Mora about their head-coaching vacancy through his representatives, according to multiple people familiar with the situation who were not authorized to speak publicly.

Why would that make anyone feel better? Stafford is awful.

Part of the reason Stafford continues to get hurt is because he's out of shape. He's pudgey kid with an arm. It's been like that since he was at UGA.

Regression in what? YPG? lol

It is way to early to be drunk man. He had 41 Tds in 2011 and only 20 this year even though he plyed every game. His other stats like YPG and INTs were almost exactly the same. His QBrating went from 97 to 78. That is a huge drop from one year to the next. Most young guys get better each year, or at least stay constant. You dont normally see huge drops unless a guy is hurt.

Well, way to go Shanahan. Better start reworking that offense so he doesn't die next time.

There's nothing RGIII did that couldn't have happened to Russell Wilson or virtually any other QB. The option runs are actually pretty safe as he keeps everything in front of him, can shield himself from hits, etc.

All of his major injuries have come from trying to get that extra yard for the first down and putting himself at risk or Shanahan playing him when he was clearly injured.

I'm positive about dudes future and hoping for a strong rehab.

Karma wins football games?

I thought it was talent and good coaching. The latter is mysteriously absent on the Texans sidelines.

Good coaching and talent can't buy things like fumble luck for example. On some occassions the lucky prevail !

But he was so dreamy in this 4 win campaign.

In his defense, Kaep is easily the best QB in the league when it comes to recovering botched snaps. The guy has it down to an art form.

I think there have to be stats that say the offensive team has a much higher percentage of recovering a fumble on a botched snap rather than any other fumble. But maybe I'm a bit off with that assumption.

At the very least he will be back next year. The injuries against the Falcons and Ravens came on him just scrambling, wasn't the options fault. I wouldn't change the offense, it works fine and Rg3 just needs to play smart which he has been since the Atlanta. Now we just gotta get him to be more Cutler and less trying to be a one legged hero. The threat of the run and option helps freeze defenders which helps him get hit less during passes so the option helps in some way. The main issue is he unlucky or just fragile, either way there isn't anything you could really adjust unless he decides to play flag football.

He just needs to learn how to get down better. That's all this is about. It's not the option. Look at Russell Wilson who throws his body to the floor with very little chance of taking a big hit.

He would have been fine if he had time to heal instead of playing and if he wasnt playing when he clearly reaggeivated the injury

Saw Andre Johnson, Arian Foster and Rusty Hardin sitting near each other at the Rockets game last night. Hardin sure spent a lot of time talkin to Dre. Hopefully no news reports break soon.
