And JaFatty continues to fuck the Raiders out of 1.6 million in carryover cap.

The Tramon Williams contract is an eyebrow raiser. But the Cowboys and Redskins did make some moves that made you say WTF.

Goodell is gonna find a way to fuck every single team.
He's a scary dude.

"Not every team"

Yeaaaaaahhhh

Your just saying that because the Saints are having a historically bad off-season.

Its a bad offseason but the team is still way more hopeful than it used to be. Im not complaining. they broke rules they got fucked. It is what it is. All I can do as a fan is sit back and hope for the best while expecting the worst. I'll be here.

Saints deserve to be punished. I've said for years they are shady, they have convicted criminal hanging out with the team, they cheated in their Super Bowl run and their qb is a lying douchebag although the "real existence" of his shadiness was not known until recently!

It's not Goodell. Other owners wanted Jones and Snyder punished. They didn't break any rule. They just violated informal instructions from other owners on how to behave during uncapped year (would've been collusion had CBA not covered it)

It's what took so long for salary cap to get established. Competition committee wanted it done before setting new cap

I honestly don't understand how this is right. Being punished for violating rules makes sense. Being punished for violating some unwritten breaking of the spirit of the code or some other bullshit doesn't make any sense what so ever. There were no rules in place, nothing was violated, what exactly is the punishment for?

Well I can imagine Jerry and Snyder sticking it to the league and all the other owners on any issues that arise for quite a long time now.

NFL 6 weeks after season

(choose your order)
NBA trade deadline
NCAA Tourney
Spring training
Hockey

Only thing that breaks the dominance is 4 days in Augusta

Um you seem to have forgotten real European Football. Premier League is in the thick of the things and of course Champions League action as well...

Something tells me that some dirt is gonna come out about Goodell and destroy this facade of an image he's building. <-- still mad lol

Why be mad? They'll find other ways to work around the rules. If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'! Bob Kraft's stench is all over this witch hunt though.

What did that "felon" do? Just wondering.

I appreciate the insight.

It just seemed like we were really doing some good things and this put a damper on it. I'm really aware of how the franchise is viewed and this just adds fuel to the fire.

I'm looking forward to the day when this team is no longer a laughing stock. I feel like they've been making good moves and maybe 10 years from now, we'd be back to where we used to be. I'm not even referring to SB rings but just being a respected cornerstone franchise.

“I let my agent really handle that stuff, but obviously, the Lions do want me back, and I would love to come back,” Tulloch said. “But at this point in my career, things have to be right. My family and my situation going on, I just want to continue to play football and get what I deserve, and that’s what it boils down to. And hopefully, things can work out there. If not, I know another team will step in there and do what’s right and move forward to win some ballgames.”

Yup, he knows what a shit hole the city of Detroit is. Oh well, guess our defense continues its no tackle policy

I appreciate the insight.

It's actually insane. The league was instructing teams not to spend above normal in the uncapped year. That's wildly illegal. It's a restraint of trade and they could have been sued into oblivion had any of that come out.

But the most recent CBA absolved the owners of any antitrust litigation, so now the league is punishing the Skins and Cowboys for not colluding with everyone else in previous CBA. The NFLPA signed off on this, unbelievably, by having that salary allocated to other teams. The thing is, this punishment just strengthens any future collusion. The NFLPA should be furious.

He would change that defense in an instant
He's played in the scheme. The perfect guy to bring in and anchor the middle of that defense. Exactly why I hope they continue to ignore him and the LB position in general.

Excuse my ignorance but how does it strengthen it?

Not that anyone cares, but the rams have cut $16m in cap today, and will have $27 in space this year. Bear in mind, they have like 1 corner and 1 DT on roster. I mean they have a few camp body type UDFAs on the roster. But they have gutted the roster. They don't have anyone on the roster who has ever played a down at center

edit: b/c in the lead up to the next CBA, when the NFL tells it's franchises to act illegally, and if they don't, they'll face consequences, teams now have evidence that the league will follow through on that threat

WTF Jerry? The one thing you were actually good at as a GM was abusing the salary cap rules. How did you allow this to happen? How the hell are you gonna fill the holes in the porous O-line and terrible secondary now? With your draft skillz? lol

Can't wait for another 8-8 season!

Wow, that was quick.

Adam Schefter ‏

Raiders plan to release TE Kevin Boss, who last summer signed a four-year, $16 million deal, including $6 million guaranteed.

Come on home, Kevin. It was a ridiculous contract and he won't get nearly that to play for any other team.

Also:

Patricia Traina ‏

Lions released TE Will Heller

Cardinals are expected to release OT Levi Brown, whom Arizona selected with the fifth pick in the 2007 draft ahead of RB Adrian Peterson.

What's weird about the Rams is that they were supposed to be somewhat tight this year, but have tons of money next year. Now they have $30 million in cap room, WAS picks the next couple of years. And WAS not having any cap room and not having a 2nd this year means those picks could look nice

If ever a team could be rebuilt from basically scratch, it is the Rams. Bradford can't even afford to be mediocre next year. He has to be good. He'll count like $15 million next year, and they will have the cap space and draft picks to move on. Put up or shut up season for him. No Sanchize kid gloves

It is crazy that it seems like Manning is going to the Texans. That will be by far the best team he has ever played for. If he is healthy at all the SB is theirs to lose.

About the Skins and Boys getting punished, all the teams were told by the league not to use the uncapped year as a way to fix upcoming cap problems. Those teams cut high salaried players so that the money they were owed would count in the uncapped year. It was a clear attempt by those teams to circumvent the cap.

Boss had a fair contract with the Raiders for a starting TE (Compared to Zach Miller whom he replaced). His problem is his history of concussions. He's one concussion away from forced retirement.
